UPDATE: I would like to thank the NAVY SEALS for reading my post.

We were so close to posting two Steven Seagal items in a single month. It would have made for a Slashfilm record and depressing office party. The contemplative martial artist marinated with MTV on the status of Under Siege 3, the (only?) vehicle that would return him to theaters. As you might expect, Seagal has put a lot of thought into where his John McClane, the Navy Seal chef Casey Rybeck, is headed…

“I personally want it to be something more modern. [long pause] In other words, [long pause] I wouldn’t mind if it was about something more mystical or [five minute pause] maybe extraterrestrial in nature. Some real government top secrets instead of just the typical.” [365 day pause]

His proposal was caught on video. Reliably, the actor says there are offers on the table. We previously wondered if Sylvester Stallone was taking Rambo V in a similar direction when he said he wanted to change genres and go “surreal.” Based on recent news of that project moving forward, it seems unlikely. Meanwhile, Jean-Claude’s gone meta- to decent reviews, and Arnold’s still wrapped up with California leaving John Davis’s Predator 3 a pipe dream. Is Seagal the man to defend our planet from space invaders? He sure kicked Eric Bogosian’s egomaniacal ass the last time around.

Discuss: Interested? What’s the ideal plot for Under Siege 3?

  • Coincidentally, Under Siege 2 is on Encore tonight.

They should combine this with all the other ridiculous movies recently mentioned on /Film. Something about vampire kids, zombie Nazis, time travel, blindness, and mall cops.

Long live Seagal! Hopefully another great entry for Seagalogy....

It seems Under Siege 2 is on Encore EVERY night. Too bad it doesn't hold up well upon repeat viewings.
  • Wasn't Seagal killed in the very beginning of Under Siege 2? Or was it another movie? They are all the same to me, lol. If I'm thinking of the right movie, how the hell would be be in the third one?!
  • Rory
He died in the beginning of Executive Decision.

And i read Vern's seagalogy and he did say something about to the tune that under siege 3 should be in space... but of course i think he was being sarcastic

As long as Katherine Heigl Co-Stars again as the neice, I'm in.

As far as plots, the first two were ripped from other action movies, so if Segal wants Sci-Fi, why don't they do the same.

    Tentative title:

    Under Seige 3: Roswell Huntdown
  • Brendan
Holy crap! Mac and Me is one of my favorite movies. Thank you for putting that picture up, thank you.
  • Jamie
He should actually shoot two more back-to-back for direct to DVD. They would do well.

I'm not talking about art here, just money.
  • Jamie
Also, he now looks almost EXACTLY like the guy who used to parody him on MADtv.

    Scary.

Why am I responding to this?
  • Harrison and Steve
loved "under siege 2 dark territory" and "On deadly ground."

loved the great moment of seagal's career turining the corner
in the mountain dew commercial and cockpuncher.

seriously, seagal has a future in comedy spoofing himself, hes the new leslie nielsen

How about Segal goes into the Mac-and-Me-universe and his super human kicking powers makes the kid in the wheelchair walk? And then he dances on the counter at Pizza Hut to "Ice, Ice, Baby" and magically pizzas appear in front of all the patrons? I would see that movie!
  • Who cares what the plot is? If he makes it, I will come... er, see it.

A far as looks and ability Seagal is one of those who just has it
Some people work all their life to just gain an iota of it and don't even get that but Seagal still has 85-90 % of his 100% he started with.
