Extended W. Movie Trailer

Lionsgate has released a 2-minute long extended movie trailer for Oliver Stone’s W. The more and more I see from this film, the funnier it looks. I particularly love the way Josh Brolin shrugs about 30 seconds in. I think that shot says everything you need to know about this film. As always, share your thoughts in the comments below. Enjoy.

W. hits theaters on October 17th 2008. You can watch the new trailer in High Definition on MYSpace.

Holy shit that shot looks fake at 00:24.
  • &E B
More like 25 seconds. And then again at 1:37. Pretty awful
  • Jacqueline Ess
The trailers keep getting better and better. This looks like a lot demented fun.
  • Jacqueline Ess
It looks just fine, EB. You're probably some right-winger just wanting to piss on anything to do with this film. No wait, you're an independent...

You have "An American Carol" to spank it to. Enjoy.

Looks great totally different from what I expected.
  • giantyoda
    sWeet!
  • Kip
Sometimes I wonder if he sees all this stuff and laughs and thinks that he's in on the joke with the rest of us.
  • Ethan
This will be the best film of 2008.
  • Josh
I am so excited for this film after seeing this trailer. Cannot wait.
  • prophecy_projectz
    This trailer fucking rocks lol

Everything about it tickles the shit out of me. From the talking heads song to the shot of him choking on the pretzel to Brolin's signature Bush shrug and chuckle. This is getting a watch first day.
  • I wondering if Oliver Stone is capable of making a good movie anymore, althought this trailer says that he just might be
  • ct
So apparently Bush is a drunk, just about every shot shows him downing a beer or jack. This is definitely a love or hate type of movie, i don't anticipate too many people riding the fence after they see the full movie.
  • razor
Man am i the only one who has no interest in this movie at all, i mean i would rather go see the clone wars cg movie before i'd see this and i swore i'd never pay to see that lametastic movie.

come on how is a movie about gw any good i mean he should be on jack ass then 'd watch it :P
  • Bull
I had no interest in this movie originally, but this trailer rocks.
  • D
i don't think we're supposed to take it too seriously. it's a caricature. very smart to do that. looks hilarious.
  • Ender
I had huge reservations about Josh Brolin pulling this off, but just from the trailers I know my fears were unfounded. I'll definitely be checking it out!
  • MKW
I will absolutely see this movie.
  • Joe
    Well-cut trailer. Very well done.

I don't think I'll like a thing about the full film, however.
  • FuelHokie
It looks like an SNL skit, hopefully the movie is better than this trailer. By the way it really made me like Bush a lot more after watching it, I really want to party with him.
  • orange cinema
i think stone just returned to form. i can very much feel his style throughout. and what else can be said about brolin - the guys on fire. i still remember diggin him from that 'nightwatch' film with ewen macgregor, about 8 years ago.
  • I'll definitely be seeing this when it comes out, but I doubt it's gonna make much money or have much impact. There's already politics everywhere and it's coming out 2 weeks before the election. I don't know, I just feel the timing's a bit off.
  • Guest
i wonder if "H." would've been a funny movie in germany back in the day. maybe it'd make him look like a fun guy to party with.
  • w smith
The trailer is well done, but I can't bring myself to watch a movie about this asshole after 8 years of watching the real thing.
  • gocitizen
I previously had no vibe for this film whatsoever, but this trailer puts it all together. This is an exceptional trailer. The Talking Heads song is a perfect choice.

I can't say I would see this in a theater, but it will be great on cable in the years to come.
  • joe
i love the part when he screams its hilarious
  • ryan
this makes W. looks unbelievable badass...
  • ryan
wow.... let me try that again...

this makes W. look unbelievably badass...

for a moment there, i turned into W.
  • Dave
Just one word for my review DON'T as in don't waste your time.

The big screen: 'W: The Movie' vs. Oliver Stone's 'W.'

    by joe.shearer

Oliver Stone's "W" is not the only cinematic portrait of President George W. Bush that you can see at local theaters this week. Indianapolis-based Pink and Blue Films, along with Asylum House Productions, has filmed its own version of "W: The Movie," a surreal, cartoonish, underground take on the second Bush presidency, screening at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Earth House, 237 N. East St.

Budget and production values aside, which version is the more accurate portrayal of Dubya? That may be for history to decide, but here's a quick comparison of the films.

    Plot

"W The Movie": A meteor containing an ectoplasm-encased W crashes in the Arizona desert. W, his face painted like a pro wrestler, breaks free, steals the presidency, and launches an all-out war with freedom and justice, opposed by the journalist The Blue Mahler.

Oliver Stone's "W": An affable, dunderheaded ne'er-do-well Texas blueblood ascends to the presidency in an effort to live up to his daddy's expectations and is manipulated into a cash-grab war by his advisors.

    Lead actor

"W The Movie": Alfred Eaker (W and Blue Mahler).

Oliver Stone's "W": Josh Brolin (George W. Bush).

    Director

"W The Movie": Alfred Eaker and Ross St. Just.

    Oliver Stone's "W": Oliver Stone.

    Best line

W The Movie": On 9/11, Bush asks where the Twin Towers are, then instructs his aide to "send that country a dozen roses."

Oliver Stone's "W": George H.W. Bush, on W's womanizing and drinking: "Who do you think you are ..... a Kennedy? You're a Bush. Act like one."

    Best characteristic

"W The Movie": Nightmarish, provocative and imaginative.

Oliver Stone's "W": An uncharacteristically fair and level-headed portrait by a usually sensationalistic director.

    Worst characteristic

"W The Movie": Drags on about 20 minutes too long; is perhaps a bit too one-sided.

Oliver Stone's "W": Drags on about 20 minutes too long; is not one-sided enough.

    Best character

"W The Movie": Eaker as Blue Mahler, a free-thinker who dares to take on a tyrannical government.

Oliver Stone's "W": Jeffrey Wright as Colin Powell, the lone voice of reason in Bush's power-hungry cabinet.

    Portrayal of Bush

"W The Movie": Cruel, sadistic tyrant.

Oliver Stone's "W": Principled and likable, if a bit dense

I think Hollywood should write a movie on Bill -Titled something like Monica Down on Me or one of Hillary and Bill and all of the scandals in the White Hose. Is Hollywood afraid?
