Role Models Red Band Trailer

Universal has released a Red Band Movie Trailer for Role Models, the upcoming Paul Rudd/Seann William Scott comedy. My internet connection is not cooperating, so I’m unable to share my thoughts. So please tell me what you think in the comments below!

Official Plot Synopsis: Danny and Wheeler, two salesmen who trash a company truck on an energy drink-fueled bender. Upon their arrest, the court gives them a choice: do hard time or spend 150 service hours with a mentorship program. After one day with the kids, however, jail doesn’t look half bad.

Surrounded by annoying do-gooders, Danny struggles with his every neurotic impulse to guide Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) through the trials of becoming a man. Unfortunately, the guy just dumped by his girlfriend (Elizabeth Banks) has only sarcasm to offer a bashful 16-year-old obsessed with medieval role play.

Meanwhile, charming Wheeler tries to trade in an addiction to partying and women to assist a fifth-grader named Ronnie (Bobb’e J. Thompson) redirect his foul-mouthed ways. It would probably help if Ronnie’s new mentor wasn’t an overgrown adolescent whose idea of quality time includes keggers in Venice Beach.

Once the center’s ex-con director (Jane Lynch) gives them an ultimatum, Danny and Wheeler are forced to tailor their brand of immature wisdom to their charges. And if they can just make it through probation without getting thrown in jail, the world’s worst role models will prove that, sometimes, it takes a village idiot to raise a child.

Role Models hits theaters on November 7th 2008.

Wow, at first I was thinking it'd turn out like that will ferrel soccer movie, but I'm very impressed, and glad that they're giving the kids r-rated lines, and not sugar coating shit. i'll probably see it in theaters.
  • Now this is a red-band trailer I actually like. I can't wait to see this. Best comedy of the fall? Maybe.
  • Joseph Fritzl
    looks pretty mediocre.
  • I wasn't even aware this was gonna be R-rated. What a pleasant surprise!
  • Agusto Paprika the 3rd
I'm surprised with how much I laughed during that. Might have to see it.
  • Looks decent.

    Looks like a kick-butt movie.

I actually liked the first trailer more as it seemed to tell a story instead of the crude but funny swearing. Still makes me want to see it though!

The plot synopsis all sounds very contrived.

    Oh, and moronic.
  • Hat
Looks pretty funny, but it comes out on the same day as Bond...and nothing is taking me away from Bond. I'll go see it that Sunday or whatever.
  • Hat
And to all you who say "I'll torrent it" or "I'll get it on NETFLIX"...you're killing the industry. If you do that, none of the money gets back to the original creators. Not even the little bit they get from the studios, because you're not giving the studios any in the first place.
  • Jef Costello
It's a better trailer than the one they released a couple weeks ago, but I don't think I'll be seeing it in theater, even if David Wain is directing it. A strong rental.
  • Pentarix
Standard lame recycled shit; perfect for the masses apparently.
  • Captain Awesome
"Beyonce pouring sugar on my dick"
  • Eric
I saw this film already at an early test screening. It's one of the funniest movies that I've ever seen next to Sex Drive (saw that too already). LOL. It's a very good film at most times but slow very near the end and it's ending is cheeesy but it's really good.

    9/10
  • Albert Brodsky
Thanks HAT. I think that's the point. "Oh noes, the creators are goings to starve." Boo hoo. Try feeding three kids on $32,000 a year. Thank you REDBOX.
  • salthegeek
whats the song that plays in the 3rd half?
  • Dave
It's gotta be better than The Ten. I think.
  • larry
I think the "If you torrent a movie you're making the industry suffer" is complete bullshit.

I totally torrented "I'm not There" and "Diving Bell and the Butterfly" last year. Wanna know why? Because it never played anywhere even close to where I live (nearest theater was 3 hours away).

I have no remorse for doing that at all, especially since I ended up buying "I'm not there" because it was great... and I was glad I didn't spend any money on Diving Bell.

    TORRENTSFTW.
  • larry
oh, and trailer has some really great moments. i'll be seeing this when it comes out, 'cause i love paul rudd.

even in overnight delivery, which most people think is stupid.
  • Gart, Bo
hopefully not all the funny parts were in the trailer. 'cause those were funny.
  • Sammy
    fuck you miss daisy.
  • Kip
eight bucks for an hour of an half of good times. Yeah I am in, someone get Beyonce to pour some sugar on my dick.
  • Goobity
@ Hat: Nothing is 'killing the industry' other than it's consistently releasing brain-dead crap-fests.

Oh, and this movie looks...the same as ten other movies already made just like it in the last few years. Except in this one, the kids curse! Oh, how novel.
  • Eliza
Looks funny, but geez, what's with the lame song??? A trailer is their chance to really grab attention, and they choose THAT? As for the Netflix/downloading argument--while I'm not necessarily for anything illegal, I will continue to rent, borrow, stream, and buy used until studios and distributors stop catering to the idiocy they think (and probably a lot of us think) we want and learn how to put quality material into theaters.
  • NC-17forkids
I can't wait to download the bootleg of this off of piratesbay!
  • Ryan
Does Elizabeth Banks ever stop working? Keep this up and she'll be the next Morgan Freeman.
  • gocitizen
pour some Elizabeth Banks on me
  • joey
Liked this one alot more than the greenband trailer.
  • Looks great to me! It won't land my $10 spot on the big screen but it will definitely get my rental dollars.
  • Fo' Sho! wurd
Liked this one alot more than the bluebird trailer.
  • ezekial
An R-rated comedy with heart and it's starring Sean William Scott?
