It's Giancarlo Giannini, who plays Mathis, from CASINO ROYALE, come on people! The movie's only 2 years old and you've forgotten everything about it? Do you people just drift in and out of the movie or do you actually try to watch it? You would think a good movie would hold your attention for 5 seconds but no, I guess thats too much. Jesus. How dumb. I'm sorry, I don't usually do this after the 20th person saying its Lucas I lost it. Thats almost like seeing some asian guy in a new King Fu movie and automatically assuming it's Jet Li, because he KINDA looks like him. God...my brain hurts.

Numerous Bond movies have had continuities, although this one seems like the continuity is driving the plot like never before.

Aside from numerous character continuities, From Russia with Love directly references Dr. No from the beginning, in which Blofeld and SPECTRE are very much motivated to kill Bond in revenge for Bond killing Dr. No. SPECTRE and Blofeld were present in many of the other early Bonds -- Thunderball, Diamonds Are Forever, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, You Only Live Twice, and For Your Eyes Only. Bond takes Blofeld out in FYEO, motivated in part by Blofeld's killing Bond's wife in OHMSS.

But George Lucas ruins everything he touches...

I believe the point was to show Bond in the early stages of his career where he isn't quite the 00 that we've all know and love yet. I haven't read the book but from what i understand the Vesper plot is straight out of it.

emo? by my count, he's doing his "job" for queen and country with at least two different women while seeking his revenge. You have to remember the time frame of these films as well. Casino Royale was Bond's first job as a double O. He isn't completely "hardened" to the world yet. :)

I don't understand what they've done with this franchise. Since when does Bond give a fuck about a girl? Doesn't he just bang his way through thousands of them? This whole movie seems to be centered on Bond getting revenge for a girl. They have turned Bond emo. /cry

Alright its officiall.. I just pissed myself with glee... and at work. How embarrassing. I love that cut of the trailer... Olga is my dream woman and daniel craig (despite the new and different feel of the bond franchise) is slowly become THE James Bond... Cheers and cant wait to see the final cut.

looking really great. had my doubts when the trailer first started playing, but now they're all gone. can't wait.

Well I for one love the Bourne films, but I'd rather see Bond not rip them off because they were done so well. That being said, there seems to be plenty other creative action shots that I'm looking forward to seeing like the rope sequence. I'm quite excited for this film, but the fact George Lucas is the only one Bond can trust makes me wonder if Bond has now gone off the deep end now that Vesper is dead. Maybe he'll give him a lightsaber, and it will be a chance for more classic Bond one-liners absent from Casino Royale:

Bond: "How about a little Quantum of Saber Mr. Greene?" *VRRRRR!*
Greene: "NoooooooOOOOOOOOOO!"

Bond: "If you're not with me, you're my enemy."

I didn't see Casino Royal yet. SHAME ON ME! I did see a clip with M installing a RFID chip in james' arm. And from this trailer. It looks like Bond Is pitting him self against a shadow gov./ illuminati type entity. That exactly what filmmakers should be focusing on. Beating those pricks to the punch.

The good thing is these Bond filsm don't showcase the retarded shakey-cam found in the Bourne films. I can actually see which white guy is which.

I think it looks fantastic. And Olga Kurylenko may be the hottest Bond girl ever. Similarities to Borne? Ok, how is that a bad thing? Borne kicks ass.

As cool as that trailer was, I saw a the Bourne similarities even stronger this time with the shot of Bond jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Very similar to the Ultimatum roof jumping, even in terms of how the shot was framed.

I thought it was George Lucas because of that shitty CGI shot of bond and another guy falling through that window, and who cares if it's the trailer, all that talk of the cgi being shitty in the hulk trailer was true when the movie hit theaters as well for the most part. I thought the great thing about Casino Royale was there wasn't any cgi in it, I hope this new director doesn't butcher it.

I'm looking forward to another Bond movie. I've got to say that Daniel Craig has brought new life to the series with his looks and his stern, serious attitude. The humor is drier and he is still suave, but he doesn't come across as trying to say to every woman in the movie: "Sleep with me because I'm James Bond.".

Who cares about George Lucas... is that Phillip Seymour Hoffman at the one minute mark?
