I'm a big fan of DBZ the show, and when I first saw this on imdb I was pretty psyched. But this looks awful. It doesn't remind me at all of the show. It reminds me of that first power rangers movie. They really should have approached this speed racer style, super accurate to the show, but they thought it would be cool to change it. Now Piccolo isn't even from Namek, he's just some guy with leukemia.

This isn't Dragonball. Its just the name. Everyone who worked on this, "you fucked it up, good job!" I have been waiting for this since 2000. I heard Fox forced Akira Toriyama to sign a contract, which basically only allows him to have no input at all. In Sin City and 300 they had Frank Miler the creater help out and have major input. That's why those movies work. But fox fucked up. Ok growing up I was exposed to a lot of anime in the late 80s and early 90's...it wasn't until Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z that I actually was curious about anime on TV again....anime films had always carried high end productions and animation....with all of it's camp and cheesy lines Dragon Ball was still a million times better than other kids programs, even if it was originally intended for teenagers and adults...

Now it looks like Fox has missed their target on yet another feature and trailer...hopefully they actually show more makeup special effects in the full trailer...because I'm far from impressed with these leaked images...Lord Piccollo not being green is something that will most likely make fans furious and turned off to this movie... It's bad enough Japanese source material has little involvement with Japanese actors.. if you've ever checked in with the Dragon Ball forums on IMDB a lot of race fueled arguments have been raging on ever since the casting was announced...mostly the fact white folks were cast in lead roles...

Since I understand it's a Hollywood movie that they have to cast western leads I just don't understand the reasoning for casting people who aren't really known....when they could have cast well known Japanese actor/actress which will play better in Asian countries...which will be their target market for this film...If I remember correctly the anime craze is pretty much over with in North America...

When live-action projects like Ghost In The Shell or Akira are optioned it makes sense because they're possible science fiction stories that could easily and seriously done on film...

Hmmmmmmm, Piccolo doesn't look so terrible. I do like green, and I don't know why he can't be green either, except they wanted him to look more alien or something, I guess.

Though, he doesn't look all that bad. Not enough for me to join in cursing this movie like you guys are. The action is bound to be good, and why you're all judging the movie from stills is beyond me.

I am a big fan of this cartoon and I think some fans are over reacting because the movie doesn't like the cartoon at all. This is suppose to be an adaption, not a copy. I am pleased with this pictures and I think this movie might have a potential to be great. The same s*** happen to Transformers and look how it turn out at the end.

I mean really? The movie could be really great, but the characters are laughable. How can anyone take them seriously? They could have easily made it an epic movie, but they can even get the characters right. Let's hope their CG team is amazing, which I doubt.

Wow, all people that said looks good, your opinions are void. Piccolo isn't even GREEN. He looks the The Master from Buffy, which is ironic because James Marsters starred in that, too. Master Roshi isn't old, and doesn't have a beard. Goku isn't even muscular. They have totally soiled the name of DBZ and aren't even following the source material for the character design, so how is there hope for the storyline? They may as well just cast Samuel L. Jackson as Vegeta now, because it would make as much sense as anything else they have done. While they're at it, just make the dragonballs cubes.

And @ Superman: Indie film snobs? No, we just know poop when we see it. Brown and smelly, not hard to recognize.
