Budget was $20 million but I saw a lot of ads.

I'm actually a friend with Jamie Abrahams whose father made films like Airplane, Hot Shots, and Naked Gun. When I asked him why he made Scary Movie 4 his response was, "Mainly for death and taxes."

It's times like these when I wonder, do the people behind movies like "Disaster Movie" really, GENUINELY believe they have a good movie in their hands? I mean if you hook them up to a polygraph, would they pass the test when asked, "Do you think this is a good movie?"

'Cause lets face facts, even if you're in it only for the money, you have to believe you're making a good movie in order to think it'll make money...

I don't have a problem with these kinds of movies being made, I mean there have always been bad movies right. My problem is that I don't understand why or how these crappy movies get a run in theatres, why not straight to dvd?

Ok opening weekend, it had to make some money for all those wanting to watch something, but please, please to all that is good and right in the world, please die off respectively starting this week.

What makes it horrible, is we all keep talking about it. If this movie came out and no one cared or mentioned it, it would die. Now they can say stuff like "come see the worse movie in history!" we have to keep making them to see how bad we can get it! People will keep going, because their is a novelty of seeing something that you know is going to be horrid and mock it as your watching it.

Even if I were the failure who made this crap and it made money, I would be ashamed to have my name in the credits.

There is no movie that can compete with Roller Ball for worst movie. Different actors for the same characters, different film and cameras...heck the whole script changed as they were filming, when they ran out of money. If you think D.M. was the worst ever, you aren't even qualified to be a critic and I simply can't believe anything you say.

I never saw those bad reviews coming. The trailer for this movie made it look like an intelligent and funny commentary on pop culture.

I haven't seen this movie (and probably never will), but I'm having a hard time believing it could possibly be worse than "Manos The Hands of Fate".

I bet it's only ever managed to get rated down that far because more people have seen it and given it sucky ratings.

My advice - if you want to see a really Reall REALLY BAAAAAD movie, see "Manos The Hands of Fate". Or better yet - don't.

I have heard about the movie, and those that have seen it say it sucks badly.. dunno if I am going to watch it or not... :P

You know guys, this movie doesn't really need a hex put on it.
It sucks pretty hard on it's own... it doesn't need help.

As far as I'm concerned Battlefield Earth should allways hold that spot. Disaster Movie is insignificant in the long run. Now, John Travolta in dredlocks... that's an image I still can't get out of my head.

I didn't see this movie because I knew.

The only reason its currently rated as the worst movie of all time is because of how reactionary the internet is. We all knew this movie was going to be shit and now that its out I am sure people are clamoring to rate it as horribly as they can, whether they've seen it or not.

I'm sure this movie is bad, but for every bad film there are a few hundred worse ones. People need to watch more movies.

i agree that these movies should be stopped, but i dont think that it really could be at the bottom of the list. it says there are over 4000 votes for it being the worst. that means 4000 people saw it. and more than saw it. had the brain cells to get on the internet, sign on to IMDB and vote. i just think that is too much brain power for someone who went and saw any "movie"movie.. (disaster, hero, date etc) and now you're telling me that 4000 of those people went and voted? i dont believe it

The rules prevent unintelligent debate but I MUST take issue with some of the characterizations of this movie. Several of you have incorrectly stated that this movie was a piece of shit. That's not only incorrect, it grossly understates the real lows that this movie achieves in suckiness. Equating this movie to a piece of shit is an affront to piece of shit movies. This movie was a swirling, steaming pile of vomit and putrid feces laying in the hot sun while people were walking by, holding their noses, and spitting loogies on the whole disgusting mess. Truly a disgusting abortion of a film. I thought that Travolta movie was also bad.
In summary, I didn't like either of them.

Other than making these films for money, couldn't they be making the just for fun? I mean, me and my friends watch movies and write down what he thought would be funny if this happened in a movie, or this. Its all fun, except they just decide to turn it into a movie.

The reason it got 6 million is because of kiddies buying the tickets to see R movies. Nonetheless, just seeing someone pay or even watch this movie is a disaster in itself.
Since this might be the worst movie of all time, I'm afraid it might make even more money in the long run because of this astonishing feat.
