Final SAW V Movie Poster

Lionsgate has released the final poster for SAW V. The tagline promises “You won’t believe how it ends”. One thing that has been consistent throughout all of the SAW films - they have always ended with a twist, even when it is barely logical.

In the fifth installment of the SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends.

Saw V hits theaters on October 24th 2008.

I'm guessing Hoffman is the guy we SAW in the last film as Jigsaws torture assistant.
(The D-bag that handed walhberg the handgun).
The last film was a pile of wet crap. This one sounds even worse.

They should have ended it at 3.

    pfft!

i love how they made the first one to be a stand alone film and it was amazing. and then they pulled the usual hollywood move of ruining it by making 4 more.
  • StarBlazer101
    how does it end????
  • guy
i agree, should have stopped after 1
  • The whole "you wont beleive how it ends" thing is exactly what is wrong with saw. It just keeps on getting more and more ridiculous.

Saw 1 was great (some serious flaws) but original. Saw 2 was a by the rules sequel, take everything that was cool about saw 1 and escalate it, turned out OK. Then 3 was bad and 4 was terrible and 5 will be a steaming pile of shit

I guess im the only one here that hasn't seen any of the Saw movies. Idk, I want to see them but I just never had the urge to really watch them. We'll see what happens when this comes out, but im thinking I should start at 1.
  • Robert
The saw films are the most overrated horror/thriller pictures ever imho. boooooooring
  • kingdarius
It should say "You won't care how it ends"
  • lancelewis
i cant wait for it to end.
  • OAKside
    It hasn't ended?

They're not classics, but the Saw franchise has been the one of the, if not the most consistently entertaining horror series in recent memory. I don't begrudge them that.

I do find their self-important ads to be a bit haughty ("if it's halloween, it must be SAW." "You won't believe how it ends") but they're still solid.

And honestly, I thought someone would comment sooner about this installment has finally been the first to not feature a visual pun on the sequel number.

ha @kingdarius. that's the first thing i've heard about this movie that i actually liked.
  • Aqualeo
The Saw movie's are meant to be seen as one big movie. Yeah they made the first one to be a stand alone film, but since then they have been able to go back into the mythology of the Saw world and show them as the whole story. I believe it is one of the most under-rated ongoing storylines today. The 5th and 6th movie cannot be seen without watching the other 4,especially 3 and 4. They have been able to take a minor character, like the black cop from 2, and make him the major character of 4.

What was so interesting about 3 and 4 is that they happened at the same time. It will be fascinating to see how they are able to bring two parrallel storylines like that and put them together in 5.

They have always said that there will only be 6 Saw movies. The 5th on will set up everything for the finale.

I've always considered High School Musical a horror film ? Its not ??
  • Goobity
    @ kingdaruis - exactly.
I didn't care how it began, for that matter. :)

@ aqualeo: Oh, well then. That makes perfect sense now...
  • Joe
Well, High School Musical 3 will be the nail in the coffin for this series. It'll double its gross on opening weekend, guaranteed.
  • What I wouldn't believe is that this is actually the end. They'll release one of these films every Halloween.
  • David E
I'm pretty sure I know how it ends. Really dumb with an overlay of some esoteric Megadeth track.
  • 790
    Lol,,, Goobity
    :-)
  • Rob
I for one, want to see this but am unwilling to pay for it. Mr. Sciretta, can you pay my popcorn and ticket too?
  • andy
    whoo!
  • Let's hope it actually does end this time around.
  • TbIzness
this poster looks awesome! all these comments (but a few) are just bashing the movies, but dont worry, im not mad at u guys. everyone is entitled to their own opinion. however, as a saw fan, i cannot tell you how excited i am! as aquelo said, all the movies are meant to CONNECT TOGETHER, and they do. and if you guys liked the 1st one, this one is supposed to really connect back to the roots. i believe they have revealed in a picture that there will be a reference to "follow your heart". and the head-in-a-box trap looks GAHHHHmazing!
  • YoungZe
I liked the first one. Hated the second one. Thought the third one was okay. Never watched #4 in the series. Never will.
  • susan
I LOVE ALL THE SAW MOVIES! theres sum really twisted stuff in them and i plan on owning ALL OF THEM! no really good horror movies anymore! SAW IS AWSUM!
  • belladonna
I am a saw fan.I've been one since the first.John(Tobin) and the others managed to keep the devilish trickss up sice the first.i was shocked to hear when a lV came out considering John was dead. They found a way to still keep him in the picture by using back flashes of his life when things were happy with he and his wife(who was with child). Then it showed how he became jigsaw because people he and his wife tried to help hurt his wife, resulting in the loss of his unborn child. Then the news of his inoperatable, malignant brain tumor.aAt that insatant he became "jig saw"(he never claimed that name to his fame, police named him that due to several pieces of crime scene.i don't know how there going to come up with V,but im sure like all the previous, movies, they will find a twisted way to make every saw lover happy and dying(lol)for more.I hope Billy(the clown doll)will make it through to V.I'm gonna sit back and wait for friday the 24th because i wanna play a game!!!
  • OhMyLifee.
I personally cannot wait for number 5 to come out.
I've seen 1, 2, 3 & 4, and I regrettably say that yes, they should have ended the series after 2.
But seriously though, these films are amazing.
I can't believe that some people say they are not scary.
They may not be typical horror (jump out of your seat scary) films, but they are scary in an unusual way.
I mean, what would you do if you were in Amanda's (Shawnee Smith) position?
This series go to drastic lengths to show you what people's minds are capable of doing, and it puts your life into perspective.
So come on people, give Saw a little bit of slack.
    Thanks for reading ;)

some of you people are ridiculouse!!! if you dont friken like the saw movies!!!! dont comment, most horror movies are F$%KEN SHIT!!! apart from a slim few.
the saw series take it to a decent phycological level which i really appreciate!!
its better than watching a bunch of shit, like zombie monters killing a bunch of half naked teenages.the zombies that walk slow, but still catch up to the person running for their lives and the zombies wont f%$ken die!!!!!!!!!
