Behind The Scenes of Coraline

Caroline

Rotten Tomatoes got their hands on a behind the scenes featurette for Henry Selick’s big screen 3D adaptation of Coraline.

Based on Neil Gaiman’s short children’s novel of the same name, Coraline is a young bored girl who discovers that bricked-up wall behind a door in her house leads to another dimension, where she has a different mother, and different father. A stop-motion film produced in stereoscopic 3-D from director Henry Selick, the guy behind The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach and Monkeybone.

This is going to be such an amazing film. Neil Gaiman is a master and I can't wait to see what tricks Harry Selick has.

I was lucky enough to see a few rough scenes of this while in production last year and it looked amazing. It looks even better now

I love stop-motion. Nightmare before Christmas and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit are among some of my favorite animated films.

I'm still waiting for Tom Selleck's big screen 3D adaptation of Mustachioed.

I cannot wait for this film. It's been in production for years, I believe ever since the book released, or soon after. The book is phenomenal, and hopefully the movie is the same. Or just at least not as bad as Gaiman's other films.

I can't wait for Coraline! I hope they come close to the creepiness of the book. For a young adult story it gave me a set of chills down my spine.

Neil Gaiman is an excellent storyteller, I too, would like to one day see Sandman brought to the big screen though I'd be scared they'd screw it up. LoL
  • First, this looks awesome.

Second, Henry should probably take Monkeybone off of his business card.

ok, I love Neil Gaiman's stories...but come on, what about a big screen American Gods? Easily (at least in my opinion) his best novel.
