Star is reporting that Shia LaBeouf called Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen producers yesterday, to inform them that he may need to amputate one of his injured fingers. Shia injured his hand in a West Hollywood car accident on July 27th. I’m hearing that LaBeouf’s injury has caused a lot of havoc on the production. I can only imagine if doctors do decide to amputate Shia’s pinky finger, it would probably be impossible to shoot and edit around. Last week Bay was telling reporters that they were trying to figure a way to work it into the story: “His two fingers are pretty mashed,” Bay told Access Hollywood. “But we’re figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it in the story.” But one must remember that Hollywood does not shoot a film in sequential order. I’m not sure how it would be possible to write an injury into the story without major reshoots.

    lesson learned. drive carefully.
  • Mike Panzer
Wow. A rising star just sort of screwed himself.
  • JFK
    AAAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
  • ciji
Now he's a perfect match for Toe-Thumbs! What fortuitous casting! Bravo Michael Bay!
  • Hunter Stephenson
there goes the rumored megan fox shocker scene.
  • So you're saying that Michael Bay might actually care about continuity?
  • orange cinema
Are ya'll serious? its really not that big of a deal. Throw a cast round his hand. Worked for Pitt in 7, & jerry Garcia did just fine with half a finger - guitarists tend to need those more than actors.
  • Gary
    Peter.
How much of his role has been shot? maybe they should just recast him, they have insurance for this kind misfortunes.
  • Andrew
To the ones above, it's important to note that according to new reports he WAS NOT DRUNK and was not cited in the accident. It wasn't his fault.
  • Gary
thats right, it was just bad luck.
  • Jeff
I thought he WAS drunk that's why he got a DUI, but that the other driver WAS determined at fault due to running a red light.
  • Jeff
Wait, wait, wait. They can digitally make giant ass robots, with millions of moving parts, but they can't digitally put a finger on Shia?
  • D.A.
bottom line...losing a finger must suck so much

    hope its not true
  • Now I really want to see his fingers. That's too bad that he possibly has to get a finger amputated, but look on the bright side. He's still rich.
  • StarBlazer101
Wow, just at the peek of his career this happens.
  • The Dude
Hopefully now he'll stop drinking, get hooked on pain killers, develop coke habit while trying to keep his spirits up. Have trouble sleeping. Get a massage at the Olsen twins house... And if we're lucky he'll be dead by the end of the year.
  • Antibodies
I'm not to sure how capable this director is with cgi, but they could use it sparingly to attach half a finger on Shia Labeouf.
  • Danny 91
DUDE wow Just say that bumble bee ran over it LMAO!!!!!!!
  • orange cinema
    Dude

Yer very cool & edgy. Hope all this stuff happens to you.
  • Meli
This is a serious bummer though somehow in the land of Hollywood you know it'll all work out.
  • Vobe
    that sucks ASS
  • jimbo stewart
That's terrible. I wish him the best and hope he recovers.
  • Aeghast
He should've got Kramer to help him get his pinky back
  • erik
He should just be off with the whole hand and get a hook. It worked well for Buster.
  • John

Sorry, but it was practically begging to be done.
  • Kurt
uuuh.. losing a finger.. now that's fucked up..
  • Pete
Does the continuity really matter for this donkey turd of a film?
  • charles
Man I like Shia a lot. But man he screwed himself big time. I can't believe he would do something so stupid. I'm 22 years old and have never had a drink of beer. Beer taste like shit. I just don't understand. I feel so bad, because if they do cut his finger off his career is over. That's not being prejudice against him its just the truth.
  • james
    effect -> affect
  • Wrmwd
That would suck to lose a finger. To err is human, but you have to deal with what you're given. I just don't envy his poistion.

I won't pretend to understand the complexities of a shoot, let alone a Bay production, but I imagine they will work around it. As far as SL's career... I woulnd't say it's over at all. Maybe on the short term as he deals with his recovery, but if he's a good actor he will vercome it.

James Doohan lost a finger and was able to make it happen.

Best of luck on a speedy recovery for Shia and hope he able to bounce back from it.
  • Luis
I have high doubts about this report..isnt Star mag that sketchy ass magazine, that is not really that trustworthy.. cant believe you guyz are believing this crap. now im not saying the scenerio is not possible. he could have mangled his fingers so bad that even sergury could not work.. he could have infected it, and then the finger started developing gangreen which the only source of stopping it is removing the infected tissue. so meaning removing the finger.. but seriously i hope the report is not true. shia is a good kid.. and for all you guyz that bash on him, shame on yal...if that happened to you, and people started criticizing you for it, well how would you feel..bunch of bitches....nuff said. wish shia a speedy recovery.
  • Ricky
Enough LaBeouf though I do wish the best for him. I cant say im exactly thrilled about seeing this movie, pinky or not.
  • Mike
    @john

    hahahahahah
  • orange cinema
    @ luis

    well said, i 100% agree.
  • Gart, Bo
    2 words: paper mache
  • Liz
Yeah, I don't know about this. If it turns out to be true, I'm sure they will find a way to make it work. I'm sure his finger could be edited out in post if need be.
  • Jester
It's total BS - look at the pic posted of him with the cast/bandage on. The pinky in question (left hand) is not even one that's covered and looks fine.

    The STAR is total $hit.
  • Jim
If they could make Lt Dan's legs disappear in 1994 they can make Sam Witwicky's* fingers reappear in 2008.

*How come no one has made a bigger deal out of that name.
  • Mike
i probably shouldn't say this but... ha...

wouldn't it be hilarious if after he gets it amputated, he starts
playing deformed bad ass in mafia movies, or westerns in the style
    of rooster cogburn?

seriously, i could picture it- guy with fucked up face and hand,
warning the young and spunky protagonist not to fuck with the
mafia, and with sharp violin note playing as the camera focuses in
    on shia's deformed digits?

does anyone else get what i'm saying?
  • Ender
Uh... don't film close-ups of that hand!? And when he's running, just tell him to make fists. I used to make movies in college and crap like this (ok, maybe not as bad) happened all the time; things are always going wrong that you have to work around. With a little creativity (I know that's hard for a big-budget studio movie), this should be a piece of cake to work around if he has to lose the finger.
  • Dark Donnie
  • Luis
    @Dark Donnie

thanx for he site...did not have a doubt in my mind that the story was false....U can even see in the picture... that he has a cast around his hand and not the pinky.
  • Goobity
    Who cares?
  • Brody
How do you people find this funny? Honestly, it wasn't his fault, nor had he been drinking, WTF is wrong with you people.
  • Superman
Exactly. How can you not feel sorry for Shia who got his hand mangled? I don't really like him much either, but for goodness sake don't kick someone when their down. Makes you look pathetic.
  • marz
losing any part of your body is bad because your so use to seeing yaself as a whole.even if its a tip of a finger..you still feel a lil thrown off so,i hope they can save it.even thought we have 10 digits,i'd still hate to have one missing.it's a psycological kick in the nuts to..but i do agree with what someone said.it's just a finger.couldnt they c.g.i it back in or put a prostetic on?its not like his whole hand got cut off.thats an easy fix.just too bad folks are gona be paying more attention to his hands during the movie instead of the actual film.i for one liked transformers and i cant wait to see the sequal...and,i'm not ashamed to admit,i think mike bay is a good director and makes good action films.but thats just me.
  • Melvin
  • Matt White
Hmmm id just replace him with some other young actor, i dunno, Jamie Bell maybe ? One kid is as good as another and people go to see the transformers more so than the kid. Im sure they will just add it into the story somehow after all if a coupple of giant hunks of metal were after you chances are you would get some type of injury.
  • sergio
pues que los transformers le den un dedo o mano cybertronetica,
al fin y al cabo así sucedió en los cartoons cuando crearon trajes transformables para humanos.
  • milo
