Judd Apatow and the geek squad would be such a great team for Ghostbuster 3.

If the game is a success then there might be more interest in a movie but I doubt anything will happen before that.

The game is sort of in limbo, Activision cut them loose to find a new publisher instead of using Sierra though there is some confusion that Sierra may still exist and the game will be published under that label.

Judd Apatow has to much pull with different movies now, even to have rumour like this to his name is somthing that could of happend.

I think a Ghostbusters "reboot" with the 40 Year Old Virgin team would be excellent. The original Ghostbusters SNL cast were pretty much in the same place as the Apatow gang before Ghosbusters (ie silly, gross-out-style comedies), so it'd make sense.

This is a pretty old rumor. It started when an untitled Harold Ramis and Eisner project on www.imdb.com . Originally it was rumored that Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and their crew were to takeover the reins.

Then the rumor went to a video game only of Ghostbusters 3. Now it is at another live action rumor.

I love this idea... if only it were true.

As far as Don Cheadle goes, he is in fact an exceptional actor. Performances in Hotel Rwanda, Crash, and Reign Over Me assure me of this. One oscar nomination for Hotel Rwanda... but what does the Academy know, it's not like *they're* people that work in Hollywood.

My girlfriend and I actually just had sex last night while watching ghostbusters II. That aside, I have an idea. STOP with the fucking remakes. There is not a cast on earth who could pull of ghostbusters like the original. This is one of those movies you leave the fuck alone. Derek - I get that Don Cheadle's a good - well, great - actor. I just didn't agree with the opinion that his role in the Ocean's movies made him suitable for Ghostbusters.

But then, Ghostbusters isn't Hotel Rwanda, either. I dunno, maybe he has some Robert Downey Jr-esque comic talents hidden away.

I also must point out that Bill Murray's performance in this movie simply cannot be outdone. In fact, his performance is so seminal that it's the reason I cannot rank TDK about Ghostbusters in my favorite movie list (they sit tied at #2).

Please, Please let this just be a rumor. I like the Judd Apatow crew but i would hate them for this. I have faith in their ability to make good movies but i don't even think the original crew can put this together. And pass it off to Steve Carell, Seth Rogan and the rest of that crew is outrageous, cast the fucking parts to actors that will fit, this will be a bad slapstick comedy that is full of the same lame jokes. There is definitely a better group of comedic actors that fit the roles. Sorry Steve Carell does not belong in this movie, he can be funny in the right movie but this isn't it. I'm looking forward to pineapple express, an original movie, stop butchering classic 80's movies because you can't think of anything new, and if it's some scumbag producer with a lack of originality, please somebody put this douche down.

The Ghostbusters 3 movie will be made in CGI because Bill Murray agreed to voice his role and it will be the 4 orignal GB's in GB3 providing there voices in GB3. The movie will be here in 2009 so it's coming in 2009 hang on tight! I'm glad that the GB3 movie will have the orignal actors providing there voices in CGI for the third film!

I think they should have a story where Winston (being the only one who looks the same as he did 25 years ago) sets out to train the ghostbusters up to their former selves, however after a while they decide to hire a bunch of new ghostbusters. Just any good young actors/comedians, then they will most likely stay on for more films. Then winston can show em the ropes while the others do all the work that involves no physical exercise, like find

I'm half/half about recasting. On one side I can't see anyone other than the original cast play their roles in GB3 and a failed movie will screw up the franchise like with Iniana Jones and Star Wars. It just doesn't feel right as a huge GB fan to take that chance. But... On the other side, if done right and new GB movie would be awesome! Besides, why not take advantage of a potentially great franchise? If its done as a "pass-the-torch" sorta way it would make fans judge their "replacements" too much. Maybe just a new crew with new characters should be the way to go. Keep it GB at its core but let the new actors (whoever they may be) be themselves. I don't know about you but I'd be a lot less critical of them and might even enjoy them. I think the writers can take more risks with the movie if taken in this light. Either way, if GB3 is made it BETTER be great. Good just won't cut it with this fan. If not, scrap it and spare me the heartache.
