VOTD: Heroes / Watchmen Mash-Up

Watchmen / Heroes Mash-up by DrewbolX

The Pitch: DrewbolX created this mash-up which uses footage from Heroes cut to the music and tonal moments of Zack Snyder’s Watchmen teaser. Wow, who knew Heroes could look so incredibly cool, which is probably a testament to the music of the Smashing Pumpkins. Thanks to /Film reader Gregory V for the tip.

If only Heroes was actually that good!
  • J Productions
Heroes hasn't looked that cool since well Company Man back in the first season. Show had potential, but was completely destroyed in the 2nd season. Sick video though.
  • Christopher Edwards
Very well made with the parodies of thetrailer and the two seasons.

The Ferris Buliur day off with the music from Requim for a dream was the best though
  • Reggie
This actually makes me want to watch Heroes....
  • Chimaera
That was bloody brilliant marketing..too bad the people actually marketing this aren't brilliant :P
  • T-1337
Don't blame the 2nd season- the Strike was occuring then.
  • Donivan
That was cool as hell. Nice editing.Did I mention that was cool as hell.

Heroes owes it's success to Watchmen. Now, Tim. Say you've read a comic book.

I saw the first episode of Season 3 at Comic Con.
    It was INCREDIBLE!

And this video is awesome by the way. I love that song and this is just badass right here.
  • A.J.
Wow. Very creative, I wish Heros was that good too!
  • Casey
That seemed cooler than both the actual Watchmen trailer, and Heroes.
  • LP
Good song. Heroes used to be really good, until the second season. Hopefully, the third season will be up to the standard set out by the first season.

/film is full of so many heroes haters. the "episode 301 at comic con" thread is like 200 comments just busting the show. just chill out and go watch lost or something.
  • Joe
Heroes aped its entire plot from Watchmen, so this is only fair.
  • Iron Matt
I don't understand why everybody praises the first season, but hates the second. Season One was just as slow paced, poorly written, and inconsistent as the second.

And no, introducing a new character every week doesn't constitute fast pacing or good writing.

Ye of little faith. Both Loeb and Sale are apart of Heroes. The first season was great, the second was 50/50. I hope both parties, that I mentioned, will whisper to Kring and say we know comics; check out Batman: The Long Halloween.

    - I'll catch you on the flip side!

    Excellent

Not bad at all! I think one thing that helps make Heroes look even better is the masking to make it 2.35:1 instead of the basic 16:9... much stronger composition that way. But where was the super vixen Kristen B(Elle)?!?
  • That was okay. If anything it reminded me what a pale imitation of Watcmen Heroes is. Heroes falls far far short of the bar Watchmen set over 20 years ago. Of course most things do, but it saddens me that people think Heroes is the best you can do with the superhero genre. Sometimes it does deliver, Company Man seems to be the high mark many cite, but it just has not been up to snuff. Comparing it to Watchmen is a dumb move for any Heroes fan. It doesn't stand a chance.

Sad part is that Heroes COULD be as good if the writers weren't such buttfaces.
