Eight Watchmen Character Posters Revealed

I don’t know how I missed this, but apparently Warner Bros released eight new character posters for Zack Snyder’s Watchmen at Comic Con 2008. The posters stick with the 80’s style of the original Alan Moore comic book mini-series. Head on over to Omelete to see the posters in higher resolution.

Still not sold on this film, these posters look like someone took a photograph of them but i guess that is the style of it.

why am I seeing smurf ass?
  • Captain Awesome
These have a very "Gibbons" like feel to them. Very, very, nice.

    Matt,

If you go to the website. They have much better versions than the smurf-sized verions Peter put up. :P

"You know what I wish? I wish all the scum of the Earth had one throat and I had my hands about it."

One of my fav Rorshach quotes :)

so. I noticed that the ozymandias poster has bubastis (the genetic lynx). Bigger picture here (http://www.firstshowing.net/img/watchmen-cci08-...)

anyways, there was all that controversy whether if the (SPOILER?) squid is in or not, and imho, wouldn't the lynx mean it's in? I read other scripts where it's a giant space cannon, but genetic lynx means that there's genetic mutation and stuff and that's how the squid shows up? I dont remember whether if bubastis was in those scripts though...

I recall all the quotes that are shown in the posters and have traced them back to the original book, all except the Rorschach quote: “You know what I wish? I wish all the scum of the Earth had one throat and I had my hands about it.”

I dont' remember this in the book...can anyone point me to the chapter where this is.

Stepping into the shadow without complaint....

How's this for a quote: "Nobody fucks with the Watchmen" haha

These Posters are exact tributes to the original Watchmen pre-release ads that appeared before the comics came out in 1986. The qoutes are from the original adds. As are the poses. The only difference is the adds were in black and white.
