/Film reader Andrew F created a video which inter-cuts between Zack Snyder’s Watchmen movie trailer and the original comic book panels. I wish it had been done in a side by side format, but it’s cool none the less.

i dont like the comparison only because unless you’ve seen the trailer enough to memorize the parts of it that hes trying to show in the comic book parts you cant really compare what snyder has done to the film part but im prob just sleep /filming right now

yea, they way it was done totally defeats the purpose of the video. it needs to be done side by side.

That comparison shows how good the comic was and how bad this film is going to be.
Nite Own II looks horrible with those glasses.

I know side by side would have been better and I knew that making the video. The problem is i’m too dumb to know how to do a side by side video. If, any of you want, i can send u all the panels used and you can make your own.

I just saw a blue wiener.

Visually, the movie trailer looks better than the comic, in my opinion. I never was a Watchmen fan, so I’m looking forward to a solid movie. Certainly, it appears to be unusually loyal to the source material, on the whole. Can’t say that about too many comic book movies.
I’m looking forward to it.

Andrew,
I’d do the side-by-side video for you, but I fear the copyright lawyers. ;)
Cool idea, though. As I was watching the trailer the first time, I kept thinking, “aren’t some of these scenes exactly what I remember from the book?”
Kudos.

silly fucking andrew!

yeah. im so retarded. It’s not like it’s hard going threw 12 comics and trying to find one panel or anything.

It will be Rated R. So I’m sure you can finally see blue dong.

I just finished reading the comic yesterday, so after watching this I decided to watch the trailer again. I must say, there wasn’t a single scene in the whole thing I couldn’t instantly relate to a scene in the comic. It looked like the only scene they played up was the prison break (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing).
Yeah, I’m insanely stoked for this now. Yippie me!

duca,
Everything in the trailer is literally panel by panel. The only thing that isn’t is when Manhattan turns that Vietkong into oatmeal.

lol I don’t think them adding that touch was a bad thing. We also need to see some blue penis… which I don’t remember seeing in the comic strangely o_O BLUE PENIS!!!! I NEED LOTS AND LOTS OF BLUE PENIS!!!111!!!
Okay, I’m done now.

July 23rd, 2008 at 3:41 am
By showing lots of CGI blue dong.

Loved the montage - however, I don’t agree with a couple of the scenes in the clip.
Firstly, the trailer scene with Doc M exploding in agony - From the location I presume this is from the Doc M origin story when a partially muscled skeletons & circulatory system he is trying to rebuild himself, not from the Pissed off & zapping to Mars sequence. This is because the door next to the surprised janitor says “STUDENT” which is more like a Gila Flats location whee Doc M was born. Also note the notice board in this scene - could there be a photograph of a happy couple on it?
Also Rorschachs grabbing the guy on onto the wall - this is either Moloch as presumed, or as I originally thought Gerald Grice the guy from R’s origin story, when R opened his eyes.
Great stuff nonetheless - I am so fired up for this film I apologise for being picky!!!!
