24 Television Movie Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming 24 television movie is now online. 24: Exile acts as a prequel to this upcoming season. Is it just me or does this totally remind you of Temple of Doom. Now Jack Bauer has to help the young children… Barf. Remember when 24 was still good? The last season was painful to watch and I’m predicting that this season won’t be much better. Watch the trailer below and share your thoughts in the comments.

    =\
  • Jimmy Mac
Definitely has a ToD vibe to it. The voice-over guy is totally off though.
  • I do recall when spell check worked!
  • The Jezzus
To hell with this right wing propaganda.
  • J.D.
I think I saw Willie Scott...
  • Danatic
What was with the phoned in voice over and cliche action music? Jack in Africa is so random...
  • Aaron
Is this made for television? Like that one where the guy from Wonder Years raped the girl from Full House and tossed her in a swamp?

Furthermore the voiceover sounded like a reality tv deal... oh wait 24 is reality! forgetful me.
  • Lol.. The Requeim for a Dream theme rides one more time.. About third time this year I think..

Ill have to update my list.. :)
  • orange cinema
blood diamond-ish too. i dunno, john voigt, robert carlyle, the requiem anthem + bauer might be fun. might be as bad as when elisha cuthbert was cornered by the mountain lion in season 2 though.
  • september11th
    this looks HORRIBLE
  • Claude
Looks good to me. Atleast they are doing something different
  • Retro
Looks awesome. Lots of action. Seems a mix of Rambo, Blood Diamond, and well 24. Im in.
  • Matt
That was one of the worst vo I've ever had the misfortune to hear. This looks epic meh.
  • Casey
That voiceover was horrible. And how is the whole White House storyline going to play into it at all? Eh, doesn't excite me that much
  • Chris
Was that serious? The voice over made it sound like a fan video. And what does Lux Aeterna have to do with 24? Except for a couple of split-screens and Kiefer Sutherland killing people, this could have been anything. Nothing about it seemed uniquely 24.
  • Vega Bro
    1) The African Children again? I feel like I've seen this movie 10 times already and thats probably because I have

    2) Requiem For a Dream music again. It seems to already be a requisite to use if you are going to make an action movie trailer. The irony is blaring.

    3) Who the fuck did the voice over for this? I mean, even that was bad

    4) Should I even be suprised that John Voigt is in this? He has been picking such total shit to be in recently and not starring, but just very minor roles. He cant be that desperate for work. Also it is obvious that his character will die before the end of the movie.

    5) On the other hand, Kiefer Sutherland looks at the top of his game, but is nowhere near saving the fuck in the ass which is the 24 Movie.

    6) Female president?...Female president? How many more sharks does this show need to jump?

    7) I remember when they used that split screen thing as a story device, but when two characters are talking together in the same room, feet apart, and they still use it only one word comes to mind: gimmick.

wow, I love 24, but that trailer sucked. the voice over made it seem like a after school special. looks like a rambo clone.
  • A Better Class of Criminal
This ad was paid for by Hillary for President...

This seriously sucked... it looks like a rip off of Tears of the Sun, It sounded like the guy who played Francis in Malcom in the Middle did the voice over, "How immenent?" "Very"... are you kidding me!

And the old Requim for a Dream trick to make it seem epic... I'm so sick of that.
  • That's definitely fake.
  • Damn, no edit button. The footage looks real but the style looks fan made.
  • Coral
Despite popular opinion I still liked last season of 24. I'll definitely check this out, but damn, that voice over was god awful. It just killed the whole trailer for me. Just bring on season 7 already.
  • Jason
Voiceover guy is the anti-LaFontaine. Is this fan made or what?

    Lame TV movie looks lame.
  • Mike
    Looks fan made to me.

Best part about that whole trailer was the Requiem for a Dream music.
  • sean coates
possibly the worst ...trailer i have ever seen ...what kinda voice over was that ...my god
  • TheLoneIguana
I gave up on 24 in the first season when they started the amnesia plotline. Bleh.
  • Pixel Pusher
    /farting noises/

Horrible voice-over, that Trinity music from a million other action trailers, and Jon-friggin'-Voight. Can somebody cast that guy in some other role than ruthless government bureaucrat?
  • Nathanael B.
When I heard the voice-over guy's voice and Lux Auterna tossed in there, I seriously thought that it was a fan-made trailer. But then again, it was clearly using real footage. Isn't 24 a big enough production to warrant a decent trailer? :/

The movie might be okay... I could see a trailer rocking with the same footage but a very different presentation. Maybe when FOX actually starts airing promos for this it'll be a better-looking ad.
  • Captain Awesome
In the immortal words of Charles Barkley, "That's turble!"
  • 790
In defense of 24 the trailer was done by FOX promo dept, and yeah it looks pretty hack.
    Btw,,,,,
This prequel sets up the villian for next season......

    Spoilers

Next season Bauer is back in the US
  • John Henderson
Wow, looks like amerrica is at it again, policing the world lol. yeah trailer looks crap/
  • WTF was with the the VO and the Requiem for a Dream music? Did Fox just give up or something?t
  • 790
Hey FOX, let the editors at 24 do the trailers from now on.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your promo dept lacks a certain sense of quality and continuity.
  • Wow. THIS is what they're leading into the season with? This is the first two hours of the season, right?

I kind of wonder if Fox has a practice room for shitting beds. They sure do excel at it.
  • 790
No Thumb, this isn't the first 2 hours of the next season.
It takes place between last season and at least 2 weeks before season 7 opens.
Trust me guys S7, is gonna kick massive 24 ass!
  • @790

Did something change since this article?

Or do we still get a 2-hour "movie" plus 22 episodes? That would make the movie the first two hours if you ask me.
  • 790
Your gonna get a 2 hour prequel and a 24 episode season.

The 2 hour prequel part is new........
  • The voiceover guy.... Someone has kidnapped the voiceover guy! Maybe that's who Jack needs to rescue???
  • @790

That makes me feel a little better. I can skip this movie (just in case the voiceover guy has a part) and hope that the real season is better than this.
  • 790
Haha. Thumb, come on don't let that shitty trailer stop ya...... ;-)
    Damm FOX promo dept!!!!!!!

This 2 hour South Africa 24, is gonna kick ass! The bulk of it was actually shot in South Africa.

Season 7 is gonna be totally different then any other 24 season yet. Every episode is going to have a motion piture look and feel to it. The crews are doing alot of stunts this season. Its gonna be huge!
  • Do you work for FOX?

Can we trade the 24 movie for another 2 episodes of Firefly? Or another 4 minutes of Arrested Development?

Even 2 hours of Drive would be okay with me.
  • Manuk
Tears Of The Sun with Jack in it? No thank you. This is going to be way too sentimental. You would think that after a nuclear attack on the United States in Season 6 Bauer would have bigger fish to fry than rescuing kids. I hope Season 7 will have more balls and tackle a more controversial issue.
  • 790
Lol, no I don't work directly for FOX but I do have connections at 24.
The producers wernt happy with this trailer.
And the regular season will be dealing with a new threat, no nukes this time, but I can't tell ya any more. Its gonna kick ass though.
  • Bill
This is obviously a temp draft trailer - the voiceover work is simply that of an editor or PA so that the trailer can get editorial approval from the showrunners. Once that occurs and final editing and tweaking of the trailer occurs, the script is sent to the normal Fox voiceover talent.

This was obviously leaked from somewhere in Fox or a production or trailer house.

It also looks like it will save me from watching 26 hours of Fox this fall.

"This fall - Jack joins "Save the Children!" - with special guest Sally Struthers." :D

    Bleah.
  • 790
It wasn't leaked Bill, its a real bad trailer. They will no doubt come up with a better one before November.

The prequel will be released on dvd directly after its on tv. I'm going to assume it will be unrated with bonus material.

If you guys are fans of the show your gonna want to see the prequel.
  • Steve
As a 24 veteran, I yearn for the days of old when the first two episodes of a season would set up the story for Jack's day and then follow it with Jack removing the head of a witness, thereby preventing him from testifying and simultaneously regaining the trust of a past undercover friend. I see no decapitation (as of yet). I see no transformation of vagrant bearded Jack to clean shaven, government funded killing machine Jack. I do see an attempt to regain the trust of past 24 viewers with a new story line and more Jack than a regular season. I also see a lot of people giving this a chance and I hope it is tolerable for the diehards. You have a few months to impress the fans 24. Get to work.
  • Bill
No, it IS leaked as the voiceover is not by the Fox corporate voiceover talent.

Further, if it was an official trailer, it would be on fox.com/24.

It's definitely an "in progress" trailer that's normally used to get editorial approval from the showrunners.
  • 790
Well I can't prove it too you online (obviously) but its a real trailer released by FOX.

Now it might get removed very quick because of the negative buzz but its a FOX trailer.

If this trailer was leaked, FOX legal would have had /Film remove it by now. Did you consider that Bill?
  • Bill
It all depends; studios often leave much "leaked" content online in the hopes that it goes viral.

You don't honestly think that the pilots that get "leaked" to the Internet get leaked without SOME studio knowledge, do you?
  • 790
    Whatever you say Bill...............
  • Jackie
I think this looks great! I have always thought Jack is at his best when his sensitive side collides with his bad ass side. What better way to show both sides than saving the lives of children!

As for the voice-over guy. He sucks! From what I read elsewhere, though, this is only a preliminary trailer put together by the Fox's promo department to show at the recent TCA event in Los Angeles. It was never meant to be viewed by the general public, but was leaked to the Internet (there are actually 6 versions floating around, each slightly different). My guess is that when the "real" trailer is released, lame voice-over guy will be replaced by the deep voiced guy that they usually use.

I think the trailer will appear alot better once voice-over guy is replaced. His lameness distracts from the trailer and makes it seem not as intense.
