I think Christian Bale is one of the best actors of our time (Empire of the Sun is my favorite movie), and I'll be the first to say this makes Newsies look good.

I think the teaser just washed my mouth off the bad taste of T3.

The movie looks good enough. I just kinda chuckled to myself about how they're marketing it. Maybe it's because the Dark Knight is coming out this week that I laugh when another movie franchise is marketing itself with Christian Bale and the phrase 'Begins'. What's next? Fraggle Rock? Voltron? Newsies Begins?

I now have some semblance of hope for this picture. Trouble is, McG's problem was never making things look good, ya know? But with a decent script and Bale-o-tron 6000, Movie Elevator, it could be good. Anybody else notice that the "Summer 2009" font just HAPPENS to be the font for TRANSFORMERS?

Christian Bale is SO hot and brilliant. IT's finally time he's got recognition. He's been acting for a long time and always underrated.

There is still a 'slickness' that exists in T2 that I hope they don't abandon. I feel this might have too unique of a documentary/gritty style to it. There's just that James Cameron stylized feeling that I miss...

Of course, more than 50 seconds would help the analysis!

Still kind of iffy on the movie, but the trailer is def. a great teaser. It's got the great music, snippets of what looks to be kind of cool, setting a kind of dark tone. I def. like the trailer. Don't know if I'll like the movie.

Awww, I expected the classic DUN DUN DUN... Terminator beat. This is looking damn good though. Let's hope that plot leak a while back was false.

It doesn't feel anything like the originals. But, it looks better then T3. To me it reminds me of Transformers which I liked. It was just pure popcorn entertainment. So I guess it will be T4 vs T2 next summer

With Christian Bale at the Helms, I think he will silent the critics...This seems to have great potential of maybe reviving this incredible movie. Hope that the script will match the CG.....

I am at least happy they apparently ditched the stupid theme from T3 that everything is destined to play out like it is supposed to after the first two movies used the theme of "No fate is but what you make of it". One theme I always kinda wondered about is that they keep sending people/Terminators back to stop Skynet, but what if it screws up the future so the timeline changes and things are much worse in the future. What if Sarah's efforts to bring down Cyberdyne/Skynet makes Skynet more prepared for a human resistence movement and has better defenses and weapons. It looks like they may explore that theme here.

That said, I am still leary of this project.

Hmm, but it's definitely not a bad trailer. All the same I'm staying reserved. It doesn't matter how much I love Christian Bale and how often he chooses good projects I'm still iffy because of McG. If he surprises then I'll be happy, but I'm not expecting much.

I'm thinking that the upcoming films will have to be based on a search for the time-travel device (which is likely heavily defended by Skynet). The final film in this series will end with Connor dying while trying to stop Skynet from sending a "bad" Arnold back to the early mid-80s, then, someone sending a "good" Arnold back to the early 90s as they unsuccessfully try to stop Skynet from sending back liquid cop guy, and then a final send back of another "good Arnie" and the female terminator.

So the whole thing is a loop.

This is going in the right for McG, he is going to get much respect for this film.

But I think he is going to get this from copying different directing styles that he has copied to help.

I saw Chrinicles of Roddicl and transformers in that.

Consider me converted and now excited for the project. If McG can somehow craft a great storyline (cause I have faith in his action chops) than I think this could be an awesome movie. The Terminator franchise to me has always been about a great story (except T3, although I did like the ending yes I'm the only one).

movie will suck because of unnecessary cgi, pg 13, what looks to be some crappy movie sets, and most obviously, mcg.
also, that shot of the robot at the end totally rips off alien.

Thrilled by the trailer, but still skeptic on McG.

the trailer looks and sounds great indeed (and maybe it's just me, yet for some reason it reminds me distantly of the "year zero" experience by nine inch nails... which is a good thing, imo. :)) let's hope the final movie will live up to this almost-one minute intro.

As far as the PG-13 stuff, Mr. Beaks at AICN is said that's not true per a set visit in July.

If I would've seen this in a theater i would've taught it was Transformers 2.
Not enough to say wether it's gonna be good or bad, hopefully good.

I think its a step in the right direction. Collectively, we were expecting a complete pile of crap. After seeing the trailer, this has the makings of not sucking, with the potential to be solid. Im going to hold off and give McG a chance to prove himself.
