I’m trying not to get excited for Babylon A.D., but I have a soft spot for futurist sci-fi films, and this new Russian poster (found on Filmz.ru) isn’t helping. I’m sucked in by the futuristic cityscape, but don’t worry, Vin Diesel’s face quickly brings me back to reality.

Vin Diesel stars as a mercenary hired to deliver a package from the ravages of post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe to a destination in the teeming megalopolis of New York City.  The “package” is a mysterious young woman with a secret. Directed by Mathieu Kassovitz and co-written by Eric Besnard, based upon the novel Babylon Babies by Maurice G. Dantec. Babylon A.D. is set to hit theaters on August 29th 2008.

is anyone really anticipating the release of this? I think this one belongs in the “Whooptee Shit” pile.

Does anyone else think the poster looks like “Sky Captian and the World of Tomorrow” poster?
    Anyone?

@ A Better Class of Criminal

    Yeah i see that

    A Better Class of Criminal,

Actually, it looks like just about every overly-photoshopped piece of crap to come out in the last 7 years. It also reminds me of the Spider-Man movie posters. Which I think sucked too.

It’s rare for movie posters to really grab me. It’s even more rare when they showcase any original composition and design.

So they just stole the Transporter and put it in the future then. Great.

I’ll be missing this one until late night cable gets it.

Wow… I hope this “transporter” of “human packages” doesn’t break one of his rules about looking in said “package”…

    what a steaming pile…

Damn BFFredo… you beat me to it

Saw the trailer for this… we’re all in trouble…

I’ve always been a fan of futuristic sci-fi films too but the Russian alphabet is the only interesting thing about that poster.

Look at that girl! She looks as bored as her future audience.

    AB,

That’s Jessica Alba from Fantastic Four.

This is a great poster. They’re both trying not to look at the giant glowing penis building but for Vin it’s just…just so hard…and it’s glowing!

Sorta sounds like The Transporter with a hint of 5th Element.

Kinda excited, but not getting my expectations high.

    Nice couple!!!!!

What’s wrong with that chick’s face?

This film looks like my next favorite film.
Vin will allways be “Riddick” to me.

If I can’t have a Cronicles of Riddick part 2 this will do.

Not a fan of VD, but I’m already sold on this film. It’s probably not going to play for everyone, but that is pretty much every sci-fi film.
