$Casting Rumor: Who is Alice in Tim Burton\'s Alice in Wonderland$ Rumor has it that the lead role of Alice has been cast in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. The latest name to enter the rumor mill is Ryan Nikole Parker (pictured right), a virtual unknown with only a few television credits (One Life to Live, Kids Incorporated and American Idol).

Other names circling the rumor mill have included Amanda Seyfried, Lindsay Lohan, Evan Rachel Wood and even Johnny Depp. Yes, you read that correctly. The film is going to be a hybrid, part live-action, part performance capture animation (ala Beowulf). Although I’ve always assumed that Alice would be one of the few live action characters in Burton’s adaptation.

MarketSaw also reports that Vyelle Croom auditioned already for the “Cheshire Cat” and might have snagged the role. Rumor has it that a press release will be released later this week with the full casting details. The film is due to hit theaters in 2010.

One of the producers was at wimbeldon Friday and was talking to the film critic on the radio and he said that they have just started the auditions.

The prensenter joked to him that the role was going to Helen bonham Carter and the producer laughed and wouldn't confirm or deny it.

Jayne Wisener. I'm speculating here but she was in Sweeney Todd and she looks just like one of Tims drawings. She seems like someone he could easily become infatuated with, big eyes and all. She's a very good actress/performer as well.

They need to just fuck already and get married. Unlels he does something really different here and strays away from the "set-looking" designs he usually does with his Gothy takes on some of these tales. I will be interested.

The film you speak of was supposed to be the film adaptation of "Alice". Based on the American McGee game from years ago. Which is pretty much is the closest representation of the original written material. But I think it got shelved.

Amanda Seyfried would be good for a role like this. Becaus she's got those giant cartoon eyes.

Lohan has the drug experience needed to pull off the acid_trip look.

I'm hoping they use "White Rabbit" from Jefferson Airplane. Maybe remixed by Shasha or the Chemical Brothers for the opening theme. ;-)

A Better Class of Criminal

I actually know a guy who is trying out for this movie (it's either tweedle-dum/tweedle-dee, or Mad Hatter). His name is Josh Marois, he used to be my neighbor. If he gets it I'll know a famous person.
In fact, he starred in a school production I directed!
I really hope he gets the part.

Tim Burton can fuck right off. If Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is any indication of what kind of movie this will be, it's not a good one. Fear and Loathing is the only really interesting film he's made. Forget that animation shit he did and Sweeny...really? What a disappointment he's become.

Does anyone know if this movie will have a dark tone to it? Is this going to be "Sweeny Todd" Burton or is it going to be "Big Fish" Burton? I always liked that really dark Alice game that came out years ago and would love to see a really evil version of the story.

I have no idea how this is going to turn out, but there is almost always one good aspect to a Tim Burton film. Sean, Fear and Loathing was actually directed by Terry Gilliam. I get that confused all the time.

I actually love the American McGee Alice game and was happy as hell to hear it was going to be adapted to a movie. This makes me sad to hear that it was shelved. I thought Sarah Michelle Gellar would have fit the role perfectly but I think she's a bit too old at this point.

If Burton sticks Helen in the role of Alice, it would take an act of god to get me to see this in theaters.

and 250 paid extras are to be picked in plymouth today and tomorrow to work in victorian scenes in alice in wonderland. 10am-6pm at the new continental hotel plymouth. they're looking for girls with long hair and guys with strong stature. 16 is the minimum age, and i would recommend if you have short hair you dont even bother, because apprently today everyone with short hair as a girl was turned down (Y)
