Warner Bros has released yet another new trailer for The Dark Knight, on a cross promotional website created by Dominos Pizza. First The Mummy 3, and now The Dark Knight? What’s up with the recent explosion in pizza promotions? The trailer is actually pretty good (unlike Dominos Pizza). The new trailer intercuts The Joker’s monologue (a pretty intense and cool moment from the film) over the usual clips from the movie. Head on over to The Dark Knight Vault and check out the new trailer in the movie extras section. Or watch it embedded below.

Very cool! I like this new trailer a lot. I'm actually starting to get excited to see this, which hasn't happened to me in a while...over anything. Not even Bond.

    HOORAY FOR BATMAN.
  • charles
Peter that was intense just like you said. But I just want to know this from you. Ledger or Nicholson as the Joker?
  • Adam B.
Dear god I hope Ledger, I hated the old Batman's, to comicie for me.
  • Christopher Edwards
    YAY!!!!!!

    It get better and better.

just still arguing over who is paying for the first showing with my dad
  • Charles: Ledger no contest
  • Adam B.
Oscar worthy performance in your opinion, Peter?
  • I don't see how he wouldn't at least be nominated. As Hunter would say, its next levs.

There is not a moment where you even think that The Joker is anything less than a real maniac, nevermind just a character played by Heath Ledger.
  • Adam B.
Sweet, hearing that from a source that I actually give two shits about is reassuring, I can't wait to see this movie even more.
  • Captain Awesome
    :D
  • Andrew
Amazing. And on that note I will now enter quarantine and refrain from watching or reading anything relating to the film until after I've seen it. See you guys on the other side!
  • Max
    Better and better!

Batman:TDK will be the ultimate comic book?

    "CMON!!!!! HITME!!!!!!!!"

The Joker is coming, and he is bringing the pain.

There is an absence of leadership in Gotham. One is needed to take control. The Joker is here. He is coming. It's all over.
"I'm a man of my wuurrdd!"

    * Poised to take the #1 slot on the VILLAINER list (ALL TIME BEST VILLAIN). I am going to be flowing tears of joy at the pain and suffering he brings. Goodbye, Batman. Goodbye Gotham. it's Joker TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPOILERS! Who watches trailers for a must-see film? TDK has enough hype (and trailers) now to beat Obama for the presidency. We need change!
  • Man Cheeze
WOW, at first I hated the fact that a guy who played a gay
cowboy was going to be the Joker, but after seeing all these peviews
I am actually super excited to see this movie. The Joker looks super insane and I am sure will steal the movie, still looking to see
what two face looks like. Awsome cant wait.
  • Marty J
I like the shot of him and Lando Calrissian at the end by the bonfire.
  • Steve
Ahh this is killing me! Please embed the video as the TV clips posted were so I can view this at work!!!!
  • This is one of those movies that I cannot fathom what the experience will be like when I see it. I can't imagine how it is going to go at all. Even with all the spoilers, hints and news I still feel like there is a big mystery to this film and the way it will play out.
  • jonathan
    Um... I like Dominos Pizza...
  • razor1000
dude this aint a comic book movie anymore its come off the pages and its a beast of its own, i'm trying not to read anything more about it just like looking at the videos, and man does joker look like what the real life version would look like, seriously theres no cartooney anywhere that i can tell. the third movie would probably deal with his origin since it appears that this is a two face origin movie.

one point of speculation on my part is that the tumbler gets blown up because that would be the only reason for batman to get on a bike otherwise i dont see a point other than marketing for that.

and jack nicholson must be sleeping very unconfortably at night now that his joker is getting upstaged, but you never know they might get him to be the joker again for the next one he could pull it off as long as nolan is in charge and not let him overaact like burton did. but anyways i'm getting into hotwater so i'll leave now peace.
  • Hey Peter, enlighten me on something.
We've seen all of these TV Spots and trailers with identical lines, but different takes. It seems like the first ones we hear and see are MUCH more intense and amazing. Then we get a new trailer with alternate takes of this (i.e. "Good evening ladies and gentlemen. We are tonight's entertainment" and "You've changed things, forever") Which do we get in the movie? The better ones, or the slightly less insane ones.
  • Joe
    @razor1000

I doubt we would see Nicholson as the Joker if he does indeed appear in the third movie. They're simply too different, and Nicholson is getting old. However, I do recall reading a while back, not long after Ledger's passing, that Johnny Depp would be willing to take up the part of the Joker in honor of Ledger, should they be so inclined to cast him. I can't imagine too many other actors in Hollywood today who could come as close to what we've seen of Ledger's performance so far, so I would personally love to see that, if we absolutely must have the Joker in the next movie. What do you guys think?
  • @Joe

I totally agree. I honestly think he would be the perfect replacment. He can do the attitude and the voice I would bet. Put Willy Wonka together with Sweeney Todd and you have the mold for the Joker.
  • I hate myself for using the word replacement.

But, I agree with what Gary Oldman said in his interview about Heath would want someone else to play the role again....someday.
  • Albert Brodsky
When I first heard that Ledger had been chosen to fill the clown shoes, I was disappointed. I've always liked his performances, but I just couldn't see the Joker in him.

As a kid, Batman pretty much ruled my life. When I was around 6 or 7, I remember going to an old movie theater in Mason City, Iowa to watch a matinee of the 60's comical version of Batman. It seemed like the coolest thing I had ever watched.

I also remember waiting for "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" to start when I viewed a short teaser of Micheal Keaton playing the caped crusader for the first time. The time from seeing that trailer until the movie came out seemed like the longest period I had to wait for anything. In the meantime, I read every Batman book I could get my hands on. I remember after watching "Field of Dreams" walking through the mall with my parents and seeing a anthology of Batman comics in one big paperback and begging my old man to buy it for me (which it turns out that after watching "Field of Dreams" your dad will do about anything you ask). I read the thing from front to back about twenty times.

Now, as a 32 year old adult, it's like I'm a kid again, waiting impatiently on the edge of my seat.
I've gone on slashfilm everyday since this movies been announced. I've viewed every snippet of information, good and bad, every set photo, and every trailer. I remember seeing some spy photos of the back of Ledger with his blond hair looking like they spayed it with that punk, hair-spray coloring you can get for $2 at Walgreens and wondering why they were trying to ruin my favorite childhood nemisis. When the first photo of the new Joker was released with the scarred up face replacing the permanent smile always worn by the clown prince of darkness, I started to come around. This wasn't the Joker I knew. This was a new vision, created by a solid film-making team who knew exactly where they were taking such a storied franchise.

Now when I watch the trailers, seeing Ledger as such a terrorizing psycho, it all makes sense. Ledger's gone and the Joker is the only thing I see. It's like he was always supposed to look this way, and all the previous incarnations were just kid's play.

I got an overwhelming sense of joy watching this... it gave me goosebumps. I feel so happy that this silly comic book has evolved into something so magnificent. Nothing will ever top this.

    Sorry for rambling.
  • razor1000
i agree like i said earlier this is gone far beyond from the comics now and into what i'd dare call a classic
  • A Better Class of Criminal
    @Wesley G

I was wondering the same thing. Even the last scene with the Joker talking to Maroni saying "This town is mine now"... I already saw a clip of him saying "This is my city" instead in the exact same pose.
I hate it when they use clips in trailers they wont actually use in the film itself... but I have faith Nolan chose the best takes for the movie.
  • Jason
"Does it depress you... how alone you really are?"

    Amazing
  • A Better Class of Criminal
    @Peter

Hey! I like Dominos Pizza (green peppers and onion, extra sauce n the side to be exact) thank you very much.
  • Steven C
Awesome, I can't wait much longer.
  • egroe
Peter what exactly do you do in the industry to get all this info?
  • evan h
what is the joker standing in front of in that last scene? and who is he talking to?
  • Chris
Heath playing the Joker gives me chills. It's just incredible.

I hope the Oscar snobs will crawl out of their asses for 5 seconds and consider him for an award.
  • Brodsky. That is way too much... I appreciate your dialogue however. Let's trim it for the next time!

"I'm a man of my Wuuurrrd."

    NEW!!!!!!!!!!!

The Joker just sent text messages to the clowns who have phones:
“Wake up, clown! You have *one hour* to reply to be a part of today's fun. /operator”
    Replying to this they receive:
"Good. Do not reply again, I'll be in touch"

A cool Hero needs a Cool villain . Any movie that people call a classic before they see......is a good fuggin' movie!!
  • Darth pimpness
This movie looks like it would be interesting even if there was never a Batman 89' . Ppl keep hatin' on Batman 89' It's still classic, true it was a shotty script but, how many movies from the 80's are being compared to 2008 movies! Batman 89' was good for it's time given the technology and writers at that point in time and was probably as good as it coulda been 19 years ago, but now it's time for a more modern Batman for today's day and age, they are both different approaches, Nicholson was the perfect joker for Tim Burton's film tone.....and Ledger seems to be perfect for the new real world joker, it's unfair to compare! Nicholson had those eyebrows, that delivery and the perfect balance of sinister funny and he had his own lil' terrorisms like taking over the tv broadcasts, killing that news lady and leaving her with a permanent grin and killing those people with the green smoke in the art gallery. Ledger's Joker seems to be a serial killing anarchist going through chicago blowing shit up and robbing banks either way they are both a credit to taking it away from that campy 196o's joker ( which was a credit to it's tone at it's time) this is just another evolution of the joker character (can't wait to see the joker of 2019 lol. Batman 89' had no competition it was the only superheroe movie after superman for years...The new Batman is competing with Spiderman, Hulk, Iron man and all these other movies that are all about the CGI but just like 20 years ago Batman will always be the standard of superhero movies
