Rob Zombie’s Tyrannosaurus Rex Teaser Poster

Rob Zombie has released the first teaser poster for his next movie Tyrannosaurus Rex. We still have no idea what the film is about. A biker gang possibly? It is becoming less likely that a real live dinosaur is involved, although one is pictured in the smokey background of Alex Horley’s poster art. What do you guys think? Tyrannosaurus Rex is scheduled to hit theaters on August 28th 2009.

Rob Zombie\'s Tyrannosaurus Rex Teaser Poster

  • Robert
Need more information. Liked Devil's Rejects alright, thought his Halloween sucked ass.
  • sean
looks like jack black has another starring role
  • Aqualeo
Looks like The Devils Rejects: Road Trip
  • Hunter Stephenson
I hope the dinosaur is real. Haven't said that in a long time.
  • Eddie
Good or bad, Zombie's stuff is still work watching at least once. Obviously this poster will never see the light of day at our local theaters but it'd be pretty cool if it did. It's got a strong Carpenter vibe to it (little bit Assault on Precinct 13 and Escape from NY).
  • mike
I love the poster except for the red border...
  • Robert
The psychedelic ground they are on is intriguing. Tattoo maybe?
  • Galdersorg
Horley's art always rocks, it's nice to see him doing posters.
  • Christopher Edwards
Sounded like an average idea in the begining but that poster is seeming to be somthing that film wont be.

I dont have much faith at in with Rob Zombie

    Good music though, somtimes
  • Looks kinda Grindhouse-ish....I heard last year he was making this and still no one knows what its about
  • Oh yeah, I was gonna say-Staying with Zombies people the dude in the middle is prob Danny Trejo and the blonde chick is Sheri moon-zombie
  • Christopher Marc
Sheri Moon Zombie is starring which was confirmed, and is no surprise. It's rumored to be based on Zombie's comic series "The Nail". Here's some info on the comic from the Darkhorse website.

"The Nail! Small-time pro-wrestler "Rex" Hauser (a.k.a. The Nail) makes a living touring the small-town wrestling circuit with his family. It’s business as usual for this close-knit bunch until they unwittingly cross paths with a murderous gang of Satanic bikers. But these aren’t your run-of-the-mill devil worshippers. In fact, Hauser and his family just might be up against the most un-Godly evil ever known to man."
  • Corpse
BRUTAL!!! Gotta love a poster with a undeniably clear message. This dude is gonna have to be more badass than Billy Jack - which is damn near impossible.
  • Simon
    51% Motherfucker
    -
    49% Son of a Bitch

    Haha, that's just funny.
  • Nick
I can't stop looking at it. It's so... badass.
  • Rob
I read somewhere that the rumor was that this movie is Zombie's "Escape from New York". I do see that it looks like that Zombie hasn't gotten over his fascination with white trash culture.

I am beginning to think Zombie really doesn't have much range as a writer/director. Ok, I have thought that for a long while and was confirmed that when I watched that dreck of a remake called Rob Zombie's Halloween. He should have called it "Rob Zombie's Pile of Dog Crap".
  • REAL6
Yo that has to be Trejo!!!!
  • Pete
It's an f'in Grindhouse movie! With a great tagline! This is what he should be doing instead of re-makes. I also wish for the full length version of Werewolf Women of the S.S., with Nick Cage as Fu Manchu!
  • If anything other than a complete waste of money, it'll be incoherent when it tries to be funny, acting like it's not taking itself too seriously, filled with twitchy editing when it tries to be violent, with each antagonist behaving truculently throughout the entire movie without reason or motivation, squirting out unintentionally funny over-the-top performances from the victims and law enforcement, with an occasional dream sequence spliced in to throw off any semblance of pacing or tempo.

    Poop.
  • Christopher Marc
    @Pete

Zombie had a poll a while back on his myspace page asking fans if they'd like to see a full version of WWOTSS and considering the response he got...I think it's safe to say that will be next film after T-Rex. Since all he needs is a shooting script shouldn't take too long.
  • REAL6
Christopher Marc, but i heard he had shot about 45 min of WWOTSS. all he would have to do is finish it...
  • The King of the No Talents.
  • Christopher Marc
    @REAL6

You're thinking of Machete the Robert Rodriguez trailer in Grindhouse, I had heard that same information for his project. You might have been mixed up. Considering how fast Robert works I wouldn't be shocked if he's already done filming it. Since he's sitting on his hands until the strike is settled before he can start on Barbarella.
  • Meli
I'm digging the poster. It looks likes this movie is going to star
Danny Trejo, Ken Foree and Sheri Moon-Zombie. I'm axnious to
find out more on the project, but I like the way Rob is dealing out
only bits and pieces at the moment.
  • Hendo
    well the poster looks cool
  • I am as excited by the concept of a movie about a an actual Tyrannosaurus Rex as anybody (I would wager that I am MORE excited about that flick than anybody) but something tells me that this won't be about dinosaurs at all, but a dude named/nicknamed Tyrannosaurus Rex with a story surrounding him will echo that of something like Devil's Rejects.

Which, to say the least, is extremely disappointing.
  • Que alguien le quite el poder de hacer peliculas, a Rob Zombie, o asesinenlo por favor,,,
  • Captain Awesome
As usual, more redneck porn from Mr. Zombie.
  • M&Co
Zombie's great and his films are fun. What's the problem? You all need to pull the stick out.
  • I'm with M&Co on this one; Zombie's movies are great, snotty, energy-filled thrill rides with more reverence for (and obvious love of) the horror genre than most. Yeah, House of 1000 Corpses is a pile-up, but The Devil's Rejects is solid , and I dug the Halloween remake, er, re-envisioning. Werewolf Women of the S.S. is inevitable.

And, really, you had me at "Danny Trejo" and "satanic biker gang" anyway.
  • Ozzie
I'm loving the Frank Frazetta style poster, that alone makes me want to see the flick.
  • REAL6
Christopher Marc youre right. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr, i didnt have my tea yet ;) hahahhaha
  • Jed
    Looks like:

    Sheri Moon Zombie
    Danny Trejo
    Ken Foree
  • Fabescore
T-rex looks like Gor-Gor, the pet/killer dinosaur from GWAR.
    *fingers crossed*
  • that looks awesome
  • Whiskey
Some of you people need crack me up. What are you, professional movie critics? Obviously you aren't grindhouse/horror fans. Rob Zombie is a horror fan. Look at his album covers and art, his movies, his everything. Hell, look at his last name. Some people say he can't branch out and do other movies due to his lack of skill or whatever. How about his name is Rob ZOMBIE? What do you expect from him, a romance movie? I love all of his movies because they're gritty and they remind me of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It's good to get away from the typical Hollywood bullshit. His movies are like metal music; it's for the fans and the rest of you can't understand. You people ar elike the people that think Slayer should put more complicated solos in their songs. They're SLAYER songs, they don't need sugar coated bullshit to make them good. Zombie's movies rule. And zombie movies rule, too.
  • Jenel
Here, here Whiskey! It's meant to be FUN, and for Christ sake, do you guys think you have better movie judgement than, oh, say, Robert Ebert? Even HE liked Devil's Rejects, so obviously there's some real substance to it. For what it is at the very least.

Bottom line: if you like horror movies, you'll appreciate his work. If not, you shouldn't be watching it to begin with.
  • sexymonkey
