Seth RogenSuperbad scribes Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are writing an episode of The Simpsons.

“We called The Simpsons and asked if we could write an episode. Evan actually met James L Brooks at a party and James said he really liked Superbad so we thought there’s our in. Maybe we could ask to write a Simpsons,” Rogen revealed to Collider. “We went in and pitched them like 5 ideas and surprisingly they hadn’t done some of them. And…yeah…we all sort of settled on one during the meting and then we went out and wrote an outline and they gave us notes on it. Then we re-wrote the outline.”

They’re currently writing the script which is due in a couple weeks. I’m not sure how long the animation process takes on The Simpsons, but I’m better we won’t see this episode until next season. Both Rogen and Goldberg listed The Simpsons as one of their top inspirations.

Hope this turns out better than that Ricky Gervis fiasco

Sweet. I’m all for crossover episodes…and the fact that they found something the Simpsons haven’t done yet is intriguing. Apparently that isn’t something easily done according to Southpark, lol.

It takes 9-10 months from the first draft of the script to be turned in. After that point, Rogen & Goldberg won’t be involved (unless they are also playing characters - then they would be called in for ADR for all rewrites after the animation comes back from Korea. With the current production schedule, and considering the amount of holdover episodes already ready for S20, this one could only come as early as the end of next season.

Yuck. Simpsons makes me cringe nowadays. It went from edgy, to hilarious and innovative, to dull and vegitative.

I’d be down to check out the Seth Rogan written one for old times sake. If I can stay awake.

Hey look at that, the Simpsons might be funny again. Well, at least for one episode.

Its interesting to see Seth Rogen spreading himself out with things like simpsons and Green Hornet. He seems to know that his recent stardom in the comedy world will not last forever, allthough he is looking good this year with Pinnaple and Porno
