Yesterday we received two new photos from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I’ve now updated the story with four more official images which appear to be released by Warner Bros.
Official Plot Synopsis: Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.
Thanks to our friends at the Spanish Harry Potter fansite Blogwarts for passing this along.

Half Blood Prince is the best book. I know it will be a great movie. On the other hand, the seventh book is the worst thing I’ve ever read and they shouldn’t even MAKE it into a movie much less two movies ugh.

Are you kidding me Sari? The last book was EPIC!

I didn’t read the last book. I’m a gamer and blogger with nothing to do. Reading gets me tired. Lol

I only care to see this if Emma Watson shows us her magical hippogryph.

As long as they dont ruin the last 3 movies like they did with the last one, I’ll be happy.
Oh and the last episode was perfect, but the 6th book was just unexpected. Oh i cant wait.

Glad to hear that the synopsis seems to indicate that the film has actual intentions to highlight the only interesting part of Half-Blood Prince outside of the Dumbledore/Harry interactions, that being the rather wonderous character arc that Rowling never lets us see regarding Draco.

i think daniel’s character in the film is the best so why rob?
i am a big fan of daniel and rob can’t replace him…………………

this movie has so much damn potential. im digging the tone of the first pic. the second pic has horrible blocking. i dont know whats going on but it looks very akward.
i think the guy directing this got a chance to test some stuff out with order of the phoenix and saw what works best and now he’s gonna make this really dark and entertaining. also… this is the most well written story of them all. it unfolds magnificently to an absolutely amazing finale.
then number 7 will just be epic movie wise… so i’m stoked
something tells me the last 3 potter films could kick our asses..

I’ve read all the Harry Potter books, and thought they’ve done a good job making the films. And then I saw the fifth one. It made me want to cry.All those things they cut out! All I can say is that I hope Half-Blood Prince won’t crash and burn like Order of the Phoenix . And for the record, the third book is my favouriteXD

Paprika, did you sleep while watching ‘Goblet of Fire’? Because that film cut far more from the book than ‘Order of the Phoenix’, and not to forget the tone of the film was way off.

The only one I can stand to watch is Prisoner of Azkaban. They REALLY should have brought back Alfonzo Cuaron to do the last 3 movies, which are quite a bit darker than the rest.

i really hope rowling revisits these characters & this universe, sometime down the road. *SPOILER* Since ron & harry are like detectives now (autuers, right?) those stories could be just as exciting as the series - maybe even stand alone epics.

i hope hbp will be better than oop.i have same views like jackson.
after hbp i never want david yates to direct the next one because it was too short.it wasnt exciting like rest .i want to see the official trailer .tell me when it will come.

@ orange cinema
Autuers? hahahaha. What are those? Just messn’ I know what you mean.
I am so ready for this movie. I was also not all that impressed with the last one. Yes, they cut out a lot from Goblet but I still preferred it to the Order. And I do expect the last book movies to be EPIC…or else, lol.

For the most part the movies have been fair adaptations (keyword)
of the books, but of course I still have issues, knowning what
I know from reading the books. All the same as movies alone
they are, in my opinion, highly enjoyable.
I’m really looking forward to HBP though I’m looking forward to
seeing yet another come to an end. LoL Why does Dec hold
many movie in which to look forward to?

Well i just hope they didn’t butcher the hb prince book with the film like they did with the order and azkaban, come on the prisoner of azkaban is one of my favorites because the whole history of his parents and stuff and the movie hardly mentioned any of it… but well you cant expect them to put everything right? but now that they split deathly hallows in two i could imagine that they wont cut out that much…
well besides that im thinking this movie is going to be funny… cant wait for a trailer…

I’ve read all of the Harry Potter books and I was a little disappointed with the last three films. The film need a new director Steven Speilberg will do. Now if they got him every important part that was in they book would be in the movie or Tim Burton I believe he could do it. This seems to be his type of movie. After I read the last book I’ve said they would have to add another film. Honestly I belive they will mess this film up.

Hey Dylan, maybe I did fall asleep during ‘Goblet of Fire’. The fifth movie simply made an impression on me because I had just finished the book when the film came out. I don’t really remember much about the fourth one…

I’m very happy to hear that they are splitting the movie in too. I was actually very worried about what parts they were gonna cut out.
The other thing I wish the movies would of focused on was Percy.

I don;t agree on the Tim Burton thing. Sorry…
Although, I do love Tim Burton very much so and would be interested in the way he would write the book. I think it would change the feeling of the book to much
Tim’ Burton’s style is more so quirky and often dark.
I don’t know just my opinion. :)
