Wanted

Universal has released a new teaser trailer / video clip from the upcoming comic book adaptation Wanted. This is the beginning of what becomes an insane car chase sequence which I had the chance to see at WonderCon. I’m actually surprised they didn’t show more. I’m still blown away by the behind the scenes featurette that we posted this weekend. If you haven’t already, check that out.

Wanted hits theaters on June 27th 2008.

Okay, I’m all for others having their own opinions and such..but Peter, seriously. How were you ‘blown away’ by the behind the scenes feature…?

Have you read the comic man?

    They’re tearing this thing apart.

Alright, I have to take back 5% of what I said. I just watched the clip again, and didn’t remember the keyboard scene…that part was cool. BUT STILL PETTER.

They’re taking out some of the coolest aspects of the comic.

dan, if you look at the featurette post (not this post) you will see my explanation. I was mainly impressed by the cool cinematography employed by Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Day Watch). The story doesn’t excite me much, and yes, I’ve read the comic book (wasn’t much impressed).

Okay I feel like a goddamn comment whore, but whatever.

True, SOME of the shots are exciting..but, cmon. I know you’re not that type of film lover. I’d hope that someone like you wouldn’t only get off to shit like that in a film.

I dunno, at least to me I have to have a story. It can’t just be Gun-Porn for 90 minutes, otherwise i’m bored.

That’s not to say I dislike action films, if they have a great story (first Matrix) then I’m sold. I personally thought the comic was awesome..new approach to the genre. The whole assassin vibe here? Just brings back Mr. and Mrs.Smith meets Eks vs Sever back to me.

I come from a filmmaking background and very much enjoy the visual magic in movies which are sometimes lacking in the screenplay department. I know I’m gonna get shit for this, but I was just defending McG’s original Charlie’s Angeles (not the sequel) to a friend for some of its cool eye candy. For example the tracking shot on the plane which opens the film.

Dude, I’m totally with you on cool fucking shots. It does take creativity for some of those. I’ll admit, I HATE McG with a passion, but he does have a cool eye sometimes. I’ll also admit, and will probably get shit for this as well. I think Michael Bay is a badass.

he can’t tell a story the way Spielberg, Scorcese or Del Toro can..but the guy has a fucking EYE for cool shit.

Though, that said. I would pick any of the above over a Michael Bay film. Because as cheesy as it sounds, I like to escape when I watch movies. Action can only take that so far.

But to each his own, not an insult at all..if anything, I want WANTED to be good..I dont want to have wanted to be good. Eh?

    FINALLY! IT’S ON THE INTERNET!

I saw this trailer/clip before Vantage Point last Feb. It made everybody go insane.

This clips is cool even though the stunt is way over
the top, still I’m not exceptionally excited for this flick.
Maybe I should watch the featurette.

I can’t hear Morgan Freeman’s voice narrating without thinking about Shawshank. It’s distracting. I keep waiting waiting for him to say” I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be…..”

haha Jonny, as they pull down his pants and punch him in the head.

    Good ol Shawkshank Monopoly.
