Warner Bros has released a new Joker Banner and television spot for The Dark Knight. BatmanonFilm brings us The Joker banner seen above, head on over to BOF to see the higher resolution version. Seems like a perfect companion piece to the Batman “Welcome to a World Without Rules” poster (you remember, the one with the bat symbol burned into the side of a building). We also have a new television spot which can be watched below. Enjoy!

This movie is going to be great. Heath Ledger rocks the part perfectly.

Every time I hear the Joker’s voice I get chills. That has never happened to me with any other movie character. I love it.

SO AWESOME!

Man, I hope it lives up to the hype. I really want to see Ledger win a Oscar. It would help the Academy to stop overlooking films that aren’t based on novel’s or are just art film’s.

haha i want the joker’s riffle

This is the best movie ever.

Loooooove it! I’m super stoked for this movie but until then I’ll have to settle for going to see Iron Man again tonight, lol.

I bet he’s still alive. In about 18 months he’ll just start showing up in commercials for the next Batman and we’ll all be, like, “whaa?”
Obviously, for continuity purposes, the Joker is not going to be killed in this movie.. I think “the Batmobile will lose a wheel and the Joker gets away” will be literally depicted on screen at the end of a dramatic chase scene.
And then Ledger will be in the next movie.

J.D.,
Wasn’t Nolan going to make the third film sort of like a “Trila of the Joker” type of design? At least thats what I was told around the campfire.
If he goes that route, he could get a stand-in, I’m sure. But Two-Face will be a bigger character in a third film I’m sure.
May 16th, 2008 at 8:20 pm
and by Trila, I meant “Trial”

WOw.. I hope Johnny Depp plays the Joker in future films as a tribute to Heath. Please GOD make that happen.
May 16th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
I wonder if Jake Gyllenhaal would take over the role.
May 16th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Whoops just realized Maggie is a Gyllenhaal too…

despite all of the mediocrity in the visuals, that blue fire bat is maybe the coolest title graphic ever.
(oh, settle down. Although, I do think it would be fun to be the one internet dude ridiculously hating on this film).

in the 1989 Batman film the biggest mistake they made was that they killed The Joker. Batman vowed never to kill any of the criminals he went after, only to bring them to justice and put them in jail or Arkham asylum.

ok, whats fox’s smart/fun remark to wayne’s “i need a new suit” comment?
3 something is a little nineties mr. wayne or what? i love his character’s humor but i just can’t hear it well enough in this trailer…any help?

Yeah I think Bats will be right up there with Iron Man.
I’m hoping Stark kicks Narnias ass this weekend! Btw

AWSOME MAN! The poster is gonna rock! And don’t you just love it when the joker at the end say Hmmm in a creepy funny way in the TV spot. The Dark Knight is going to be the best movie in the world, can’t wait!
RIP Heath Ledger.

“C’mon, hit me!” is the tagline of the year if not the century.
May 17th, 2008 at 7:48 am
“Three buttons is a little 90’s, Mr. Wayne.” It’s a surprisingly high brow fashion reference for a TV spot…
May 17th, 2008 at 8:32 am
Yeah two button suits made an exit a while back and are now on their way back in, wait what the hell did I just say.
May 18th, 2008 at 9:40 am
Neil the line was “I need a new suit” “3 buttons is a little 90s Mr Wayne”… Wayne needing a Batsuit with Morgan smartarsing about his button up.
when they quoted Michael Caine saying heath ledgers performance as Joker made him forget lines, I thought, ok so he scares easy.
I get goosebumps after every trailer. I’ve been suckered by hype but this so won’t dissapoint.
May 18th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Yeah from the trailers I’ve seen so far, it looks like Ledger steals the movie.
