/Film reader rbrill45 sent in a photo from the set of Will Smith from the set of Hancock. You might be asking yourself, why would /Film be interested in a photo from a production that wrapped in November of last year. That’s because the photo was taken on Saturday night… [cue inquisitive music] That’s right folks, the film did reshoots on Saturday night in Times Square.
Smith was seen wearing his black and green body suit. Time Square was packed with lots of extras wearing 1980’s-style bright color clothes. Hancock also looks very clean shaven, so maybe this is from a flashback or a sequence early on in the film. Apparently they shot for 12 hours and got some last minute footage they needed for the movie which hits theaters in seven weeks.
Meanwhile Flashing-Lights shot this photo of a Hancock standee that he found at the movie theater this weekend.

He’s in his uniform from the trailer, after he has decided to become a better superhero, which leads me to think it’s toward the middle or end of the movie.

Tabor: sure, but maybe he use to wear the uniform before he became a drunk? How to explain the 80’s style clothing?

Another reshoot for a Will Smith movie? Is this become a trend for his movies?

I suppose that’s possible Peter, I hadn’t really focused on the mention of the eighties style clothes.

Based on the negative review from AintItCool, I think that they’re focusing on refining the core story between the characters played by Will Smith and Charlize Theron? Perhaps the movie will be less of a comedy and more of a serious action piece?

this thing looks like a tanker. the cgi in the trailer was fairly dismal. adults don’t care about Smith, and prolly won’t take their kids to go see a movie with a hero who’s a drunk and rapist.
This seems targeted at the movie parody audience made up of teens boys. like we’ve saw when scary movie, another teen movie etc came out, even when that entire demographic goes to see a movie it aint enough to break any records.

I saw the tv trailer where he throws the beaches whale back into the ocean. The CG for that whole sequence was really, really bad looking.

Hell, the CG in I Am Legend was awful and that movie did just fine. REALLY FINE. Will Smith has a large fan base and this will be another hit for him. I personally see nothing wrong with the effects in the trailers.

I was totally there on Saturday night when he did the reshoot! it was so cool! I was in hollywood about a month ago and saw no celebrities, and the fact that I saw a celebrity in such a big city was completely amazing!
he’s freakin tall!
