Update: /Film reader Jim S sent me the above photo of the American version of the teaser poster. So it appears it is real after all.

The photo below has begun to circulate the message boards, claiming to be the Japanese poster for 20th Century Fox’s upcoming live action big screen adaptation of Dragonball. But who knows, it could be an elaborate fan creation. I know there is enough of a fanbase looking forward to this movie, so I thought I’d share it.

Dragonball hits theaters in the states on April 8th 2009.

    you got to be friggin' kindding me. Dragon Ball was one of the worst cartoons I have ever seen. What are they going to do, make a 10 movie series of guys with stupid hair (really kids who the hell is going to put on that wig?) screaming and breathing really hard? I don't know if my body can take the intake of weed I would need to enjoy something like this.

    got that right msires, that's why they're so reluctant to show any pictures from the film. But I've seen all the characters, except Lord Piccolo's face. So far, none of them resemble the original, true characters. In fact, they're the exact OPPOSITE of how they should look.

    Fuck FOX, they edit Family Guy everytime they show it. What's the point of showing a show if they're going to edit it for content and cut out 10 minutes of footage. TBS and adult swim doesn't do that. Fucking pussies. FOX is the worst network on the planet because it's government controlled by mindless puppets and bullshit!
