Uwe Boll, Eli Roth, Michael Bay

Here is the quick recap: Hack video game movie director Uwe Boll said he would quit filmmaking if one million people signed a petition. After we posted a story about the situation, over 125 thousand people signed the petition. Feeling the pressure, Boll released a video statement demanding that his fans start a pro-Boll petition. During his video statement, Boll attached Michael Bay for being a “f**king retard”, Eli Roth for “making the same shitty movies over and over again”, and George Clooney, concluding that he is “the only genius in the whole f**king business.”

Eli Roth quickly responded calling Boll’s negative comments about him the “greatest compliment ever.”

Michael Bay has responded to the comments against him on his official message board:

“I find people who rant like that - calling shit about both me, and George Clooney - comes from someone screaming because he is not being heard. He is obviously a sad being. When you ask ‘do I care?’ Not in the slightest.”

I think Dr. Boll should take on both Michael Bay and Eli Roth in a two vs. one boxing match to settle this. And it should be noted that in the last 10 hours twenty more thousand people have signed the petition, and we now have over 143 thousand people officially behind the cause to rid the film world from a cinematic cancer.

If you haven’t already, Sign the Petition now!

I do agree with him about Eli Roth though. His movies are no better than Boll's. Bay's are better than both combined but that ain't saying much.
  • dan
Hey Robert, come chill out with us when you're done on the bandwagon.

Boll is a such a German joke, I can't believe this guy is still speaking. I'm almost tempted enough to go and bang 500 Thai hookers and get them impregnated, so my future children can sign this motherfucker off.
  • robert
What bandwagon is that? Eli Roth's movie suck ass. So do Bay's. So do Boll's.
  • Brian
Rather than fight each other, go tell other people about this petition.

    Seriously, this guy sucks.
  • Uwe Boll rules! He is, if nothing else, the most entertaining filmmaker out there (him, not his films), and I would rather watch 50 Uwe Boll interviews before watching 1 with Eli Roth any day.

I don't want to live in a world where Uwe Boll isn't around.
  • Orange Clockwork
Grown men rowing with each other like children. Awesome.
  • Captain Awesome
It's the 3 Stooges of crappy films. They should collab to make the worst movie that's ever been made...WITH STYLE!

A final KABOOM to your senses.
  • Cinemaniac1979
I think the real slight here is BAY DISSIN' ON ROTH!

Aw snap! Layin' down the comments as if they Roth don't even exist!

ROTH YOU GONNA TAKE THAT? HUH? HUH?

YOU JUST DUG YOUR OWN GRAVE, BAY!

IT'S ON MUTHAF****R! IT. IS. ON!
  • Cinemaniac1979
    Orange,

+1 for usage of the word "row". And you didn't even refer to locomotion or boats of any sort. I like the cut of your jib sir.
  • starblazer101
    TRASNFORMERS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Geoffrey
I can't wait to see Bolls video response when the million people sign this petition I wonder how long it will take?
  • robert
"It’s the 3 Stooges of crappy films. They should collab to make the worst movie that’s ever been made…WITH STYLE!

A final KABOOM to your senses."

I think this is a great idea.
  • GregoryV
like i said before... SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL
  • Ohh, you didn't mention the pro Boll petition... :(

Then I will do it (again ;)): http://www.petitiononline.com/ub221965/petition...
  • I.E. Cooper
This whole situation is just really sad. It's like...personal drama exploded on the internet. Boll is a crappy artist, he's having his shit put in front of him, and he's pissed off. I would be pissed off too if I were him. I mean, come on, you're basically saying "Hey, 1 million people, tell this guy that he sucks so bad he should never do what he likes again." Whereas you COULD just say "Hey, 1 million people, tell this guy that his movies aren't good and he should learn how to make better movies."

Peter and petition signers: you're being stupidly immature. If a million people told you this blog sucked so bad that you should never write again, how would you feel? Maybe you'd make a better blog.
  • Charlie
Looks like OWF is getting behind Boll - http://www.obsessedwithfilm.com/movie-news/why-... ... some kind words for you too, Peter.
  • Pyre
I think an issue with that is, Boll has GOTTEN that statement. Many many times: he has flat out refused to make better films. And it can't just be that it's beyond his ability (I'll give him that much the benefit of the doubt), it's that he is a supremely arrogant person who will never be convinced he is wrong. Uwe Boll is a terrible filmmaker, and an even worse person. This petition will do nothing and would do nothing even if it got double the signatures, but ANYTHING that has any chance, however remote, of preventing him from making films ought to be pursued. He long ago burnt out any sympathy he had coming.
  • George
Isn't this similar to earlier where Boll was saying his new film would 'smash' Indy 4 at the box office. you have to hand it to Boll, he can certainly capture our attention, at least off the screen...
And whats with all the Eli Roth hate? he's not that bad a director.
  • Lars Ziegler
I guess he didn't get anywhere attacking Roger Avary and Quentin Tarantino so he turned to Bay and Roth. Sad, pathetic guy.
  • Mark
He surely knows how to pick his fights :)
You know what's really strange? He actually seems to have a good taste in movies. He recognizes a great movie when he sees it, but why is he unable to create equally awesome movies? I think he has a huuuge ego problem, and probably he is even more incompetent than I thought.

    Watch this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4M_791m2sI

He likes Juno, There Will Be Blood and Little Miss Sunshine and continues: "I have a lot of problems with a lot of Hollywood mainstream movies" followed by a rant against Indiana Jones IV, which is too calculated in his opinion. I never thought I could agree to something the infamous Dr. Boll says, but I agree with this interview. Still he wasn't able to redeem himself with any of his movies, so he should really start looking for another job.
  • Jojo
I am not signing this. I find him hilarious as a person and love hating his movie so i am going to not sign.
  • Marvin
152195 and counting!! we can do it!!! let's see if he keeps making thw worst movies over and over
  • Connie G
Honestly, I bet Boll could take them both easily.
  • Colin (brother of Mike) Hunt
Any chance of a similar poll to stop Michael Bay from making movies? I'd be on it like a rash.
  • Kode
    Obssesedwithfilm.com???

Pfff he's saying that we should love Uwe Boll because he actually makes movies and we don't.

    What a fucking imbecil...
  • I wish they'd bring back Celebrity Deathmatch for these guys.
  • REAL6
All 3 directors suck major ass. But if i had to pick one id prob pick Eli Roth even thou his films are all the same.

But in a fight id have to go with Uwe Boll!!!

Roth wears mascara and eye shadow so he'd loose. Bay, might be close but Boll is German and an Alcoholic. SO you know he's gonna be like the Terminator!!!

I agree with April, bring back Celebrity Deathmatch but use the real people, not claymation.

    My 2 cents :)
  • Mr Kensington
How can we not find him hiliarious? After seeing that ranting, soon to be classic video I deeply regreted signing the STOP UWE BOLL petition. Isn't it better to have a crappy director who's both harmless and completely insane rather than one who...isn't? From what I hear, he sends himself up in Postal (He apparently dies as well) and he takes care of stray dogs. So he's not all bad.
  • I've actually lost considerable respect for Uwe Boll. The fact that he never stopped in the face of adversity (I know I wouldn't be able to go on making movies if so many people hated them) was something I respected a lot. To effectively throw in the towel like this, well, it's a little sad.

Oh, and Eli Roth is a very under-rated director. Yes, it's popular to hate him, and call his movies torture porn, but damned if I didn't greatly enjoy all his films so far. As for him making the same film over and over, well that's just rubbish, I felt that as a horror sequel, Hostel Part II was one of the few films that actually brought something new to the table, rather than re-hashing the events of the first.
  • David
Is there anyway we can start some more petitions for the large number of other terrible directors currently in Hollywood?
  • George
seriously because he said that, i was shocked and to my interpertation by him saying hes the only genius. I believe that is mocking all the great directors that are out there like Martin Scorsese, Bryan Singer, The Coen Bros, Paul Thomas Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Terry Gilliam, etc etc etc. i can go on for hour. I think more directors should respond to this then just Bay and Roth.
  • George
of course i am talking about Uwe Boll in case anyone gets the wrong idea :)
  • Way to go Michael Bay way to stick up for yourself by not sinking to a lower level, and Eli Roth for letting the comments bounce off you, Uwe Boll should stop, he should realize that his movies are never going to make any money and shoulc quit, or at least learn how to make a good movie not based on any videogame franchise, Paul W.S. Anderson is the only one who can make video game based movies that actually stay true to the material.
  • Konspiracy
Omg, his voice its so fucking funny.

He makes the shittiest movies ever, in truth I would rather watch "Meet The Spartans" than any more of his movies, and thats saying alot.
  • hmm - Saw /film on attack of the show tonight I do believe. It was about this uwe business. Good times.
  • joemee22
I can't believe that Uwe Boll is getting all this attention. I personally wish more people were bale to see Postal. i was lucky enough to see a screening of it while working at Fontana a few months back. It was supposed to originally be out in 1500 theaters last Friday (5/23). at least you can still see the trailer (www.myspace.com/postalthemovie).
