Just found this absolutely brilliant Spike TV Star Wars Advertisement featuring Darth Vader (apparently Spike TV will be airing the Star Wars saga starting April 4th). I’ve updated this story below with official photos of the other two advertisements featuring Chewbacca and Darth Maul.

Why do they think people will be interested in watching this edited down with commercial breaks when most people own the dvd and could just pop that in and watch it with a good transfer?

This will not be the edited down version of the films, though yes they will have commercials. There will be pristine transfers of the movie, LucasFilm is very anal about that and has been checking up Spike’s edits to make sure they meet their approval.
They will also be in HD at some point as well…
Lets not forget that many people will flip and see the movies on and start watching, but they may not have had the desire to pop-in the DVD

im actually recreating the leia poster in photoshop i found a hi res version of that slave leia pic its coming out awesome i. the image of the poster is almost identical now im just gonna print it out on my plotter ! woohoo
