Confessions of a Shopaholic

Check out the first photos from the set of Disney’s adaptation of Sophie Kinsella’s bestselling book Confessions of a Shopaholic. Isla Fisher is dressed in what appears to be a wild bridesmaid dress, featuring a furry dalmation-print jacket and tacky pink veil. The official plot synopsis follows:

Rebecca Bloomwood is a sweet and charming New York City girl who has a tiny, little problem that is rapidly turning into a big problem: she’s hopelessly addicted to shopping and drowning in a sea of debt. While Rebecca has dreams of working for a top fashion magazine, she can’t quite get her foot in the door-that is, until she snags a job as an advice columnist for a new financial magazine published by the same company. Overnight, her column becomes hugely popular, turning her into an overnight celebrity. But when her compulsive shopping and growing debt issues threaten to destroy her love life and derail her career, she struggles to keep it all from spiraling out of controlâ€¦and is ultimately forced to reevaluate what’s really important in life.

Confessions of a Shopaholic hits theaters on February 13th 2009.

She was only good in her over-the-top performance in Wedding Crashers

I think Isla could be fantastic given the right script, but this may not be it... again.

I even rented Wedding Daze because I was determined to find another " Crashers performance in that vast ocean of feces.

I agree with April, she's a great comedic actress and can do some great work.
Hopefully we will see more of her in years to come.

I love the books, and can't wait for the movie, but why do I feel like they're going to f this up? I wish they'd just stick to the plot of the book and not make silly changes (or, in my opinion, mix two books together). Still, I'd see the movie no matter what they did.

Is Isla goin to keep her accent. Cause they should have at least keep her as a british girl living in New York.
If they are going to change the plot at least stick to the characters

I love the books but I feel like they're just gonna f this up. I mean Isla was funny in wedding crashers but I hate the idea of her being rebecca bloomwood. Especially that guy doing Luke brandon. I always thought they should make a movie out of this book and always pictured what the characters looked like. When I imagined Becky and Luke it was far from this. I imagined becky with dark brown hair and luke a tall handsome man. Not this ugly fool. Still watching it tho.

Why does America always have to steal fantastic British material and cock it up by turning it American with American actors. This movie should have been left to the British to make. If I was Sophie Kinsella no matter how much money America offered to get the rights to make the film I would have turned them down. I would rather the movie not be made than have it ruined. They should have at least used British actors.

I agree...why is she in New York?!? This should be in England. I love the books and will see the movie no matter what, but I will be very disappointed if they are all Americans! They should be British!

I HATE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO BECKT AND THE BOOK
If you make a movie based on a book, you shouild at least respect the main point of the history.
1.- becky spends , but she has also taste and does not look like a clown
2.- she is actually intelligent and NOT BLOND
3.- WHY DOES ALL MOVIES SHOULD TAKE PLACE IN NY?? part of the charm of the history was it taking place in LONDON. why amricans always have to ruin all the nice stories changing the original place to NY??
4.- what have you done to Suze?? she was supposed to be blond and chic..Tarky on the other way shouold be a strange guy, not HOT
5.- LUKE..i dont know what you were thnking about when you chose that actor..
6.-SOPHIE KINSELLA..why did you let them change everything?? guess you thought that you would ern more $$ changing the history, but never thought that your fans would be upset..
