Iron Man Movie Trailer

The new movie trailer for Iron Man which premiered at WonderCon, aired during LOST tonight. The trailer begins much like the previous teaser, with Tony Stark demonstrating the Jericho, when he is captured. After building the Mach 1 suit in a cage, Stark escapes. This is where the real new footage begins, and not to sound too much like Alex Billington, but this trailer kicks so much ass you’ll have to watch it at least three times. I’m still not sold on the closing shot where Iron Man blows up a tank. It still looks too much like a video game to me, but that’s just a minor complaint. From what I understand, that segment is still not 100% finished. Check it out now, and tell me what you think in the comments below.

    Epic. Very nice, I was hoping for a little less in the way of CGed stuff, but I imagine that would be more than a bit difficult. The movie looks amazing though, I think Downey was the perfect choice for Stark.

    The only qualms I have so far with what the movie is shaping up to look like, are the combat scenes. That was my biggest issue with Spiderman 3, all of the scenes in which Spidey fought villains were all cged. It just made the movie less... well realistic, which I know is a lot to ask for in a movie based off of a non real comic book.

    Other than that though, I think the movie is looking spectacular. Go Iron Man!

    a few years ago, i NEVER would've guessed that Favreau would end up helming a kick ass film adaptation of iron man - it's just not the direction i saw him going. but here i am saying it again: every time we see or hear something to do with this film, it completely rocks.
  • maaaan... this one is solid, but the Superbowl one was a lot more kickass.. I know some comes back that the Superbowl one was condensed in 30 seconds, but still... why the hell did they tinker the look of the final shot (the one with the rocket to the tank)??????

    and why the hell people are bitchin' about the CG look of that shot? that shot was just beautiful

    Everything looks good except for the videogame tank sequence. It looks really bad.

    Also, you can't go from awesome Black Sabbath to shit like Audioslave.

  • The "lightning from ground to sky" looked a little bit too much "Ghostbusters" to me. Everything else looks really really nice.

    This film looks genuinely awesome. Great casting, set design, costume, FX, tone - the whole lot. Kudos to everyone involved, looking forward to it.

    Can it be that comic book movies are starting to come into their own and match up with the original?

    I'm still wating on a battle scene that will have all the "oooohhhh!" and "AAAHHHHH"'s in there. Iron Man is number one on the list though.

    Looking forward to Ledgers The Joker, and GDT's vision in HBII as well.

    What is the word I am looking for.....um,oh yeah, !!!DAMN!!!. I had speculation of Robert Downey Jr. for this role. My doubts are like that tank now.
    That last shot is being retouched and refined.The first showing of that shot during the Super Bowl, the sky was dark.Don't dismiss their creative eye.It looks they they know what they are doing.We still have a few months before a final.Relax.

    amen dude. sadly we fanboys will complain about anything. i'm guilty of it, but trying to get better. we're lucky to be living through some pretty legendary cinematic times right now, & shouldn't waste it nitpicking over every little detail. big issues are one thing, but sometimes the complaints are just sad - and as i said, i am guilty of it too, but working on it.

  • I couldn't possibly be more excited to see this!! And I just finished re-reading the entire run of Iron Man comics yesterday, got myself one of those cool comics on DVD collections. May cannot get here fast enough.

    I loved it... and seriously... the last scene is about 1000 times better than it was. If it's still not finished then lay off of it already. When people go into a scene expecting it to look cheap then that's the way they're going to see it no matter how much better it has been made. I also doubt that the battles will all be only CG like everyone is fearing given that RDJ said he wanted to be wearing the suit in the movie as much as humanly possible.

    yeah, there is another song between AC/DC and before Curve. I was looking other places for the answer and another song listed is "Hey Man Nice Shot" by Filter, but I'm pretty convinced that that's not the song that I'm thinking of (though not a bad song). I'll keep looking. Way too excited for this to be another 2 months away.

    Okay, I can be called the biggest nerd on the face of this tiny blue planet, but how awesome is it that they've been putting some REAL thought into the physics of Iron Man? Like palm stabilisers and stuff for flight, air brakes, the weight of the suit, the flight prep... You just don't see that kind of detail in superhero movies as of late. Granted its a 'Spidey getting hit wih a girder doesn't hurt cos he's got a super spider skeleton kind of thing' or whatever crap the writers came up with, but old Tony is all human under that suit.

    Maybe its just the Engineer in me loving the detail, but still.
