First Look: Two Face From The Dark Knight

The Net knows no bounds. Dark Horizons has landed blurry images of actor Aaron Eckhart’s Two Face figurine for this summer’s The Dark Knight that were snapped inside the press-restricted section of the New York Toy Fair. These are the first shots of what the post-acid fashioned Harvey Dent villain will look like in Chris Nolan’s Batman Begins sequel. You might notice that the figurine has what appears to be a Terminator-esque red eye, but most notable is the suit. Instead of wearing a suit that is split down the middle by a terrible tailor, complete with animal prints and other colorful zaniness, Two Face’s suit here keeps it mundane work-week, though frayed and lived-in on his bad side. Wise decision. “Where does he get those incredibly awful split ties?”

Pics of Tommy Lee Jones’s take on the character in Batman Forever and the character in a Batman comic below.

Discuss: Do you think his face will be as cartoonishly purple as Jones’s version?

Two Face 2

It's a pretty bad question to ask if you think his face is too purple when 1) it's a blurry picture and 2) it's a toy figurine. In all likelihood, the blood and gore realness of the Aaron Eckhart Two Face just didn't transfer over all that well on to an action figure.
  • The Addict
I think it's too early to tell. All we have is a blurry shot of a toy. Who knows what the real make-up will look like?
  • Hunter Stephenson
    @ Freddie & Addict

Yes, I realize it's too early to tell, hah. But you still get an idea of how dark and prune-ish his face will be here. Basically, did/do you expect the filmmakers to do something drastically different with the character?
  • I personally thought Tommy Lee Jones made an EXCELLENT Two-Face in Batman Forever...here is to hoping Aaron can match the performance (which I fully believe that he will meet and exceed)

  • The Addict
I'd expected the straight facial split with the makeup, but this could work well. I'm not sure how I feel about it and probably won't be until I see some footage of it.
  • Rezzo
Love that it resembles Two-Face from The Long Halloween somewhat.
  • artgood
Why is his hand purple too?
  • Rezzo
    @ Art

He reaches up to touch his face one he´s hit by the acid.
  • A.J.
It should be noted that in many occasions the toy resembles very little of what the actual character looks like in the movie. I've seen this happen in the past with the Joker, the Penguin, Poison Ivy, Mr Freeze, and even Batman.
  • Jim Graham
The new Batman films have gone with a much more realistic approach than the previous Batmans. I can't imagine two face will have the cartoonish look as he did in Batman Forever.
  • PAT
I think it will be less like Tommy Lee and more like fresh scar tissue which does get a slight purplish color to it but then lightens over time. I like that it's not a perfect line down the center of his face too... if we're going for realism the odds of perfect symmetry happening are... well there aren't even odds on that because it would never happen lol
  • Nick
His suit is definatly two-tone. It is easiest to see in the pants where it appears his "evil" side is wearing a jean pant while the other half has a normal suit on. Still split but like you said still a realistic and fresh approach.
  • Captain Awesome
It doesn't look like the Shumacher comic make-up. It actually looks like an uneven, severe burn. I like that it's not even down the face. From the looks of it, the TDK also shows the "layers" of tissue over the burn.
  • Sausage
I'm happy that there won't be an even split in the face. I mean the acid was splashed on him not brushed evenly. Also it looks as though the evil side of his suit is a bit torn or frayed.

I don't know if anyone here was ever into action figures, but I used to be quite into them, especially pro-wrestling figures. I remember a lot of sites online being dedicated to customized wrestling figures created by kids from all over. They would go as far as to use putty and paint and glue to create accessories or extra limbs. Personally, this is exactly what this look like, especially with the parts used and the 'scuffy' (not an insult, could be an early version) work on the 'burned' side of the suit. The parts look very much like the Jakks WWF figures from back in the day...

Just trying to shed a different angle on the scene...
  • John
  • I'm screaming fake, as in, not a part of the Dark Night franchise.
  • B-Rok
I think that definitely looks like Aaron, and is probably very much like what he will look like in the film. Probably very fresh after the acid incident. I think it looks very cool from what we can see, much better than the lame Batman Forever over-cartooned look. I'm sure he will be a perfect fit for the look and feel of Nolan's films. I just hope he doesn't change the wardrobe into the neon zebra-print split suit! Brutal! Very excited for this film!
  • JOHN
It always, always bothered me how Tommy Lee's Two-Face had a perfect line down the middle of his face that split the difference between the two halves. It was much too perfect and cartoony. From the looks of the doll, I really like how the scarred area is organically shaped, added with some splatters on the forehead. Very smart indeed. I can't wait.
  • JOHN
Now that I look at it, I can see it maybe being a fake too. Especially when you look at the shoulder joint area of his left arm. It looks like it's not 100% connected to the body. Am I wrong on that? Just a thought. And the way "FALL TOY" is in the upper right of the frame? That's a little too stragetically placed.
  • brock
I like that the split isn't even too and Aaron Eckhart said that majority of his face will be computer generated(probably by this picture his eye). It sucks that I guess his suit won't be black and white. I wish that they will bring back mr.freeze but have his design more to the comics and have someone like Patrick Stewart to play him.
  • dontcallmewave
even the blurry shot of an action figure looks kool
  • menis2society
think the uneven look is good and very realistic wonder if they really bring out his eye and some of his teeth , i am curious to see his suit and if its divided ...or his coin to help deside between the 2 dualing personalities,
  • Andrew R
i sadly saw the leaked image of aaron eckhart in the two face get up.
    idk.

    i wont say much, but
i will say his face wasn't purple. it was made ash grey.
  • XdudeX
This is good stuff right here, I'm looking forward to two-face a lot more than the movie its self, (does that make any sense?) and also just a side thingy here, is it just me or do Jokers' little minions with the bags over their faces in the trailer, look similar to the horrific people in The Strangers.
  • batman
noob its a fucking toy figure.

here is 2 frames of the dark knights 2face i personally think he looks great. i love how they made his face look. i never liked the even split down his face, i like how they took a more realistic effect on it this time. also if you look for the new dak knight trailer you see him before the incident laying in a pool of acid or gas. i cant wait for this movie it looks good.

note: look at his chin you can sww what looks to be bone.
  • Prince
Well, we will not know till we actually see the movie .. For all we know, there will be CGI additions / deletions on top of the principal make-up (like they did with Ralph Fiennes' Lord Voldemort) ... but i think its a nice idea to keep the character grounded in reality and get those horrible split-ties and split-suits ...
  • Jony Boy
This pic of the toy is different from how Harvey will look as Two-Face. There has been a pic leaked of Two-Face that is extremely different. This one has it purple and the leaked one greyish. And he has a big hole in his cheek were you see his muscles and bones. And at the toy pic at the top of his eye he doesn't have it burned but the leaked pic he does. Toy's are not always accurate.
  • Patrick
theres a picture of him on google images

    http://www.iwatchstuff.com/2008/05/06/dark-knig...

it looks kinda similar to the blurry photo lol
  • Sully
first off aaron eckhart wont be wearing make-up it will be computer animated but it looked absolutley amazing. its so realistic even thought its only for a short part of the movie.
  • Ya but in the movie Two-face had half of his suit kind of burned so they should have made half of his suit burned not saying that he looks like shit but ya and with his face they should at lest show the bones and shit but anyways still looks cool scarecrow is cool
  • Dave Jordon
Batman Begins is more faithful to the origins than The Dark Knight especially with Two -Face. More people were killed as a result of the villians unlike original comic book series, Batman always manages to save people from super villians
  • Dave Jordon
Anyone who is a big fan of the batman comic book series, knows that the The Dark Knight although very well done knows that the history of Two- Face as far as I know is not accurate to the comic book series. All the characters involved in Harvey Dents life all lived. Also, because we care about Rachel Daws the character that we expected her to live as long as Batman. The look of Two-Face and the joker are excellent in the Dark Knight as well as the acting, but this movie is too depressing for my taste with alot of great lines. I also think that this is a radical version of every super hero film ever made. When I entered to see this movie after watching Batman Begins numerous times that Bruce Wayne would have already have his mansion built, that his Batcycle wasn't attached to his Tumbler, that there might be a Bat boat or Bat heicopter. Boy, was I wrong.
