40-Minute Interview with Tim Burton

Tim Burton

Tim Burton sat down with David Poland for a 40 minute interview to talk about his latest film, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I really love long form interviews, and there are few directors in Hollywood that I find more interesting than Tim Burton (at least as a person). The most interesting part of the interview comes near the end where Burton admits that Green Screens give him a headache, and talks about his feelings on the advancements in technology. I agree with Burton, technology shouldn’t be used just because we have it. It’s something better assessed project to project, depending on what the story calls for. Watch the interview below.

I guess tim burton wasn't really thinking about not using technology when he decided to make some really really really awful CGI blood for this awful movie.

it was cheesy blood for a reason. it was supposed to be theatrical you dumb boob. it wasnt awful it was a burton classic. you have no idea what your talking about.

    For your notice:
Burton said he refused to water down his film to be "politically correct," and said the vivid color of the blood against a black and white background made it look obviously fake.

"It's bright red, and the last time I cut myself I didn't see that color."

Morgan, I'm sorry but your an idiot. Sure, you didn't like the movie. Ok. But think about if he had made that movie realistic. I hated that movie until the very last scene, where sweeney todd dies, holding his wife. That scene was beautiful only because it was fake. All of the 'fake' was created to make what would realisticly be an ugly thing, beautiful.
