George Lucas is wrong again (I must admit, that is fun to type). The Indiana Jones producer told press a few months back to expect the first teaser trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull before the end of the year. Well apparently Paramount is not ready to release a trailer, and will instead appease fans with the official teaser poster around Christmas (not the comic con exclusive teaser pictured right, but a new theatrical teaser poster).
It looks like last week’s report that the teaser trailer will be attached to The Spiderwick Chronicles might be true after all. So it looks like we’ll have to wait until February.

I know they’re going for the iconography of the series with the teaser, but this poster is so dead it’s nearly worrisome.
It almost plays into the “hanging up your hat” line about retiring, and I don’t know if that’s on purpose, but sheeesh. Dr. Jones shouldn’t get over confident about the kiddies coming to see him leap over rooftops, if you catch my drift. I’m sure there is umph to be seen, but it would be rad if Steven and Lucas decided to challenge ol Batsy and Speed and Ironman ultra-early. Hell, if we can turn our next presidential election into a version of Hollywood Squares everyday this early, all of the summer tentpoles should be swinging with blindfolds on by now.
