Owen Wilson’s recent suicide attempt has put his acting career on hold. EW reports that sources close to the production of Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder say that Wilson will no longer be doing the film. Wilson was scheduled to shoot for a week on the film which also stars Bill Heder, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. Tropic Thunder follows a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie, who, through a series of freak occurrences, are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying. Dreamworks has no comment.
It’s too bad he won’t be in the movie, but so is life. Let’s hope Wilson takes the proper time to recover from this incident, and find the help he clearly needs.

This is a bummer. I hope Owen Wilson gets better, mentally and physically, and I don’t think he should slate any work for himself right. That being said, this movie would have been “made” by Owen Wilson. Without him in it, I’m not sure who will be the standout actor. Bill Hader’s rising fast right now, with Hot Rod and Superbad, but Owen would’ve been the show. Everyone keep praying for him, he’s hilarious.
