Okay so Logan’s Run has finally found a director, but who the hell is Joseph Kosinski anyway? Well for starters, he hasn’t directed a feature film. So why don’t we check out some of his commercial work after the jump. You will be amazed.

I read somewhere that David Fincher had directed that Gears of War ad.

    Wow....

    .
seems like he's spent his entire career making Logan's Run...
    .
  • The guy has directed some of my favorite commercials in recent memory, I'm convinced this movie is not going to disappoint.

There is some nice cgi work there, but I'm afraid if Logan's Run has to much cgi it will completely overpower the realistic and human side of the story. Hopefully he will be able to use minimal cgi and post-production work and stick to directing a film rather than an animation with human scenery.

But I'm also left wondering, is this film in need of a remake?
  • Yep. I'm official a believer.
  • Err... officially.
  • well it's all good stuff
except David Fincher made the Gears of War ad
although i wouldn't be surprised if he was just a producer and my facts are messed up
  • danny
That looked fabulous but i still think that right director for Logans Run would be John Henry Timmis IV. He is know for his movies have great plot and acting :D

    (just joking)
  • I believe David Fincher was the directors' consultant on the Gears of War ad.
  • Gears of War video, since the one in the post is dead. [don't know if it will embed, so here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccWrbGEFgI8 ]

Since Joe moved to LA, he has become good friends with David Fincher. in hollywood terms, David has "discovered" Joe, though there are plenty of us in NYC that loved his KDLabs days, and knew he was going places well before that. I'm guessing David worked closely with Joe on his first major commercial. That said, you can clearly see the influence of Joe on the Gears spot. Great stuff.

Seriously, his KDLabs work still leaves people's jaws on the floor.
