When Warner Bros announced that they were making a sequel to The Lost Boys, we were furious. Not only was it a sequel, but a direct-to-dvd sequel. Those are notoriously the worst because they usually became a remake of the original featuring an entirely new cast of bad actors and a horribly revamped script.
But there is good news afterall, according to Bloody-Disgusting - the two-Corey’s are back! Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander are returning as the Frog Brothers, and Corey Haim will be reprising his role as Sam Emerson. Not only that but Angus Sutherland, Keifer’s half-brother (and son of Donald Sutherland) will star as this film’s vampire villian. How cool is that? Tad Hilgenbrink (Amusement) and Autumn Reeser (The O.C.) are signed to star in the film. Let’s hope they aren’t in the film too much.
The original film was released in 1987, and followed a group of kids from Santa Clara, CA who come up against a gang of motorcycle riding teenage vampires. Keifer Sutherland played the big bad vampire leader in the original, which was directed by Joel Schumacher.
From Dusk Till Dawn 3 director P.J. Pesce will start shooting The Lost Boys: The Tribe next week. I don’t know how they did it, but Warner Home Video all of a sudden got me excited about a direct-to-dvd sequel. Sure, it will probably suck - but at least it will feel like a somewhat real sequel.
Last month on their new reality television show, Feldman broke the news to his best friend Haim that Warner Brothers were making a direct-to-dvd sequel without them. Haim started crying. You can watch that footage here.

Peter - it’s Santa Carla, for heaven’s sake! You know, it’s supposed to be like Santa Cruz, actually, nothing like Santa Clara (like I don’t even remember there being a Pink Poodle in the movie).

I can’t believe it. It’s going to bad.

From Dusk Til Dawn 3 was actually worth watching. Mind you, not more than once. But still, this has potential.

They actually lived in Santa Clarita…. Both are wrong, nice…. And yes it was filmed in parts of Santa Cruz, the Boardwalk especially. This sequel will totally bomb! If the two Coreys werent going to do it, it actually might be decent!

Could have swore that Feldman broke the news to Haim that they were NOT going to be involved in the sequal on that reality show of theirs. Haim even cried. What’s the real story?

Santa Clarita? Huh? look at the movie and the billboard they pass at the beginning of the flick. Clearly Santa CARLA. Murder Capital of the World.
Unless, of course, Santa Clarita is ironical or some kind of pun.

Hey I thought that Fieldman told Haim that they weren’t going to be in Lost Boys 2.What is it are they or aren’t they?

This movie was made in SANTA CRUZ not Santa Clara dumbass. SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS REPRESENT!

I think Santa Clarita was used in a Clint Eastwood Movie shot in Santa Cruz, maybe that’s where the confusion is coming from? I believe it was Sudden Impact, the only Dirty Harry flick not set in SF.

I watched it being filmed at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. Talk about boring; it’s more fun watching paint dry. At least the scenery was nice ;). I remember a girl in some kind of sexy cat suit with a tail running around the boardwalk, I assume to distract attention away from the set. I didn’t recognize any of the actors, and I was certain the film would be crap; Imagine my surprise when it became a cult hit.

One the movie was filmed in santa cruz and the town in the movie was santa clara just confirming it for everyone. two we all know the corey’s are pretty bad actors but admit it it is fun to watch. and three the “reality show” was scripted and they probably said that to A throw people off B. Haims pathetic attempt to prove to corey or himself that he can act. or C. Just to add a little bit more drama to the show im leaning towards B
i hope i cleared some things up for everyone

The town in the movie was Santa Carla. I’m positive. Being from the Bay Area, I know where Santa Clara is, and I distinctly remember it not being Santa Clara in the movie. Santa Carla. Santa Carla. Santa Carla.

i do hope they both are in the lb2 movie. they are great together, there is no douting that. everyone goes through hard times, and being in the spot light and trying to deal with life with money early on. it had to go some way… and everyone deserves another chance…..
look at hollywood now, we have alot of people with no tallent at all on shows. they make headlines for doing nothing but being chased for pictures…. it is sad that haim has to be turned down at all when he has shown everyone with the list of things he has done over the years early on that he can act….
none of these new people have a list like that at all and they get praised, i do not get it… they suck.
corey haim, is a great actor, funny actor……
lucas was a great film……
america should give him another look…… and give him the roles he deserves…..
i hope he does make it into the lb2 movie and that him and corey f. can patch things up. nothing should stop a great friendship.
nothing….
