Terminator 4

A couple months back we reported that The Halcyon Co. has obtained the rights to the Terminator franchise and planed on launching a new trilogy of films without Arnold Schwarzenegger or James Cameron. And now we have another Hollywood legal fight which could prevent Terminator 4 from going forward.  The Halcyon Co. has filed a lawsuit claiming that MGM is “interfering with their right to negotiate for the distribution” of the fourth film, according to Variety. The suit says that MGM is fighting to retain it’s rights to distribute the fourth film. MGM claims to have an exclusive 30-day negotiation window for T4, which the company obtained in the 1990s Orion Pictures bankruptcy. It appears to me that this is just a minor legal speed-bump which may only serve to slow down the development process for the movie.
