Bumblebee

The Cream of the Crop film critics on Rotten Tomatoes have deemed Transformers fresh with a shockingly high 80% rating. The less important movie reviewers have given Michael Bay’s latest a less favorable 63% rating, which is still considered “fresh” any way you look at it. The Internet Movie Database users (over 5,500 at the time of this report) have voted the movie extremely highly at an 8.3. I’m sure that will fall as more people see the film and vote, but it’s worth noting.

What does this all mean? Transformers does not disappoint! So go see it tonight, tomorrow, or Wednesday because the best way to experience this type of movie is with a packed crowd of excited fanboys!

    O........M.........G!

My faith in Michael Bay has been slightly restored. Besides that, this movie was simply amazing. Makes me want to pull out the TV show DVDs and sit through them all again.

Did I mention the movie was simply amazing, cause I don't think I did. So again, this movie rocked.

    Out.
  • Critics love TransformerS? Not really. Meta critic showing only a 66 after 23 reviews.

I don't see any reason why the title of this article is right.... Transformers... all I can do is shake my head at the film.... I think the only thing worth noting about it is the special effects.... I hope at least they get an Oscar nomination.
  • Sean, dude... I'm with ya.

I am absolutely flabbergasted at the love being showered on this thing. Saw it last night. I felt visually assaulted and bored at the same time. The best thing by far about the movie is Shia LeBoeuf. I'm starting to understand why there are so many Michael Bay haters on the web.

  • I haven't seen any bad reviews, myself, but I've been trying to stay away from Internet hype.
I did, howver, catch an early screening last night and I was completely blown away. Minimal Michael Bay cheesy-dialogue and - as promised- fantastic special effects. I think I was grinning through the whole thing.
Several great geek/cult-TV showouts (Tom Lenk from BtVS has a small role, the appearance of a My Little Pony),
I think it's a great action-y summer movie and was worth the wait. I'll be seeing it again and - like every fan girl out there - buying the DVD and super DVD and whatever crap they peddle. It was good and I'm already looking forward to the sequel.

Hail to Micheal Bay...This was unbelievably good. Take Spiderman 123 and X man 123 and all those movies put together dont compare to Tranformers first movie. GREAT JOB DUDUE!!!
  • I recently went to see the Transformers just for the nostalgia of being and older Tranny and I wasn't disappointed in any way with this movie. Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox have great onscreen chemistry together and their acting is top notch. I wouldn't be surprised if the special affects in this movie with Oscar worthy.
Most of the critics I've read have to do with Michael Bay's desire to make high-budget and really loud movies that make a lot of money.
If Michael Bay is happy with it then I'm happy with it.
