Michael Bay and Shia LaBeouf on Transformers set

On The Lot isn’t canceled, YET. Tonight the show will air on Fox in it’s new two-hour weekly format, and Shia LaBeouf and director Michael Bay will join the judges to help promote Transformers (oh yeah, and judge the show). You might be wondering why Bay and LaBeouf would waste their time on a show with such horrendous ratings. I have no idea why they would waste their time to promote the movie on the Steven Spielberg executive produced and created show. Oh wait, that must be the reason. May-be if we’re lucky Bay will debut some new Transformers footage. But more than likely we’ll be subjected to a bunch of horrible short films.

Actually, Shia’s name is missing from the latest press release…

Actually, I have to say that I like “On The Lot.” Yeah, some of the movies suck a bit, but then so do some of the singers on “American Idol” and so does some of the ‘talent’ on “America’s Got Talent” and some chefs can’t boil an egg on “Hell’s Kitchen.”

I just wish “On The Lot” would give you a bit more insight into the process of making a film. We get little snippets when people talk, but I’d actually like to learn more about the overall process; the decisions; the tradeoffs.

I’ve seen better shows but I’ve definitely seen shows that were a lot worse.
