Harry Potter & The Order Of The PhoenixWhat is wrong with the calendars in Hollywood? Are they numbered incorrectly? This Summer must hold the record for the most release changes in the history of cinema. It seems like all the big studio marketing departments can’t decide on a date, and when they do, they bump it up a night or couple days forward.

Harry Potter & The Order Of The Phoenix was originally scheduled to hit theaters on Friday July 13th 2007, but will now hit theaters two whole days earlier, on Wednesday, July 11th 2007. And I bet there will be an announcement a week or two before the release that the film will actually premiere on Tuesday at midnight or maybe even 10:00pm in most theaters. That seems to be the hip thing to do now-a-days. Whatever, I can’t complain - Harry Potter a few days earlier? That probably makes a lot of muggles happy. No word on if the IMAX release has also been moved up, but we would assume that to be the case.

Oh yeah, and Warner also decided to bump up the release of License to Wed, from Transformers day (July 4th) to Tuesday July 3rd. Do they actually believe that will make a difference? The film is dead in the water.

Now that’s what I want to hear!I can’t wait for this movie and now it’s 2 days earlier.I hope this movie will be better than pirates 3 and spiderman 3.

  2. Gravatar

what do you mean transformers are dead in the water they will kill harry potter in the box office top ten all time garrenteed

  3. Gravatar

Well i’m not sure about better, but it will crush Pirates 3 & Spiderman 3 in the box offices like Pirates did to Spiderman over the 4 day weekend.

  4. Gravatar

Dylan, are you on every /films website? are you the owner or something, because YOUR EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!
    LOL!!

  5. Gravatar

Ooh, I’m so excited! I can’t wait. I was a little disappointed by Spiderman 3 and Pirates 3, so I can’t wait for this one!

  6. Gravatar

    im soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excite for
HP 5 and the final book!!!!!! pirates 3 was amazing, but i think
the 5 movie and 7th book are gonna just blow them out of
the water (no pun intended)!!!!!! oh mannnn countin down the
    days!!!!

  7. Gravatar

Well what you will see me at id something that relates to pirates, spiderman or harry potter.I agree with Elizabeth i really enjoyed Spiderman 3 and Pirates 3 but I was dissapointed.First of all if any of you read the books what do you think will happen in Deathly Hallows?

  8. Gravatar

When it comes down on who’s gonna die I think that Snape and Voldemort are gonna die.I think Snape’s gonna do something good in the end and he will be killed by Voldemort and Harry will kill Voldemort through the power of love.

  9. Gravatar

Ya, but Snape isn’t special enough to be killed by Voldemort. and remember, Harry can’t kill Voldemort with Love because “I can touch him, now!”

  10. Gravatar

You’re right.I know J.K. Rowling said two people would die.The truth is I have a feeling Harry and Voldemort will go down together. Here’s my reason it all has to do with the scar.Remember back in the fifth book Harry scar was hurting but laughter was coming out of his mouth and supposedly at that moment Voldemort was laughing. So what if Voldemort was killed what would happen to Harry?I really think if Harry died and he was reunited with his Parents,Sirius and Dumbledore in the afterlife that would be a happy ending.Of all things Harry’s wanted is to be with them people a gain.

  11. Gravatar

Which Harry Potter movie is your favorite and why?For me it’s Goblet of Fire. The reason is every time I watch I still get that excitement of something big going to happen.I also liked the portrayal’s of Mad Eye Moody and Voldemort. My second would have to be Prisoner of Azkaban.Because I thought the dementor’s were cool and we saw alot of Snape. And I also liked Gary Oldman playing Sirius.

  12. Gravatar

My fav movie is Prisoner of Azkaban because it introduces Sirius and hes my fav character because hes Harry’s Godfather. its so wierd. My dog looks almost exactly like Snuffles so my sister calls her Sirius Black, and she responds to it! My favorite book is OotP witch is wierd cause its the longest book out of all of them so far. but from the movie trailers, Ithink the book is still going to be Better than the movie will.

  13. Gravatar

Yeah, first of all, I am really not sure if Harry is going to die or not. I believe that there is a largish chance he is a Horcrux, but even if he isn’t, there is a large chance he will go down with Voldemort. So the odds are against him. I also defintely believe Voldemort will be defeated. 99% of HP fans think that. I think Snape will die protecting Harry or someone else, but he is more likely to be killed by Bellatrix or Lucius than Voldemort.

My favorite movie is Sorcerer’s Stone. I really like Chris Columbus’s style, and the actors are so little. I still feel the HP magic, and I really like the old Dumbledore.

My second fave is either Goblet or Chamber. I like the action and all in the fourth, but I don’t like the Dumbledore (he seems too young) and I don’t like how the grounds changed position in the third and fourth.

  14. Gravatar

Well of course the book is going to be better than the movie. But in my opinion the movies are the best book to movie adaption ever. For me The Chronicles of Narnia movie was disappointing.Because they had every thing from the book in the movie but I just did’nt feel any of the characters or scenes. But Harry Potter considering the fact they’re so long they have to cut scenes, but the actors give brilliant performances and the visuals lately have been wowing me.

  15. Gravatar

the old Dumbledore was all calm and lovable. but this new one is too active and you can’t really love him as much. you could tell in the 4th movie when he was bending over the Pensive right after harry’s name came out of the goblet and he said “you heard BARTY, the rules are CLEAR” he sounded so mean then. its to bad the old one had to die though cause he was the best.

  16. Gravatar

Yeah Richard Harris was a calm and lovable Dumbledore.I thought he was a little too calm at times.I thought Michael Gambon had the character down pat in Prisoner of Azkaban. But in the fourth one he was a little over the top at times. Now I saw on the internet the other day that they had a advanced screening for Order a few month’s ago.And they said that Dumbledore was calm and inventive in the film.Somewhat like he was in Prisoner.

  17. Gravatar

Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. Richard Harris was PERFECT. But Michael Gambon seems too young and even sort of hippie-like at times. I just don’t think he’s got the character down as much, especially in Goblet.

  18. Gravatar

Anyone else think The Chronicles of Narnia was disappointing?

  19. Gravatar

Well…no. I liked the movie better than the books, to be honest. The books were too easy for me. I actually saw the movie 7 times in theaters!!!! I don’t know what came over me. Then when it came out, I never wanted to see it again. I’ve seen it once since it came out on DVD. Over a year ago. I think I blew a fuse on it - now I don’t really want to see it anytimes soon.

  20. Gravatar

Well I had read the books when I was a kid and it drew me in.It was like watching a movie in my head. The movie for me was dry and had no spirit or culture.

  21. Gravatar

Does LOL stand for laugh alot?

  22. Gravatar

Yeah, I read the books all the time when I was little. I grew up on them. I loved them then, but when I got older they lost a lot of their charm.

LOL stands for Laugh Out Loud

  23. Gravatar

Thanks.I thought it had something to do with laughing. But I was’nt sure,I did’nt want to type it and it mean something else.

  24. Gravatar

    No prob.

  25. Gravatar

I just read on google that Order of the Phoenix has been rated M in Australia. We all know already that here in the U.S. that it’s been rated PG-13.In Australia M stands for suitable for an audience 16 and over.Well that’ a relief,I love the first two movies but I felt they were watered down.Versus the latest two, they stopped watering them down for little kids.

  26. Gravatar

Anyways…I don’t know. With Harry Potter, for me, the movies don’t even come close to how much I love the books! The directors and producers do a remarkable job considering the magnitude of the project they are given, but even so, the books are just so much better. That’s usually the case, except Narnia for me.

My favorite book is Order of the Phoenix, so naturally, I’m really looking forward to this movie. By the previews, it looks to be pretty promising, but I don’t expect to be too over-dazzled by it. Still, I will be in line to get a ticket on opening day and most likely more than once after that. Unless it sucks. In which case I’ll still see it twice…

My least favorite book would have to be Half-Blood Prince. It just seemed different than the others, and Ron and Hermione constantly being in fights was tiresome. I’d just like to see those two happy together for once.

  27. Gravatar

I agree with Elizabeth on the fact that Half-Blood Prince was’nt as good as the other’s.I for one think that Order of the Phoenix is going to flatten Pirates and Spidey. If you go over to aintitcool.com they have three early movie reviews on it.They had a advanced screening for it back in February and they all seemed to say even with the film not being finished it was better than the first four.

  28. Gravatar

i dont agree with elizabeth or dylan….i thought the half-blood
price was the best so far…i mean, harry really is turning into
this guy who is fighting for good, and hes not young and
innocent anymore…plus i liked that now hes going out with
    ginny.
also, i feel like the books could NEVER lose their charm@ there
just something so magical about them, that even when i read
them today, (over and over) i feel like im at hogwarts with
    them, sharing the adventure
I do agree though that it will totally blow away pirates 3 and
spiderman 3….speaking of spiderman, i thought it was kinda
bad….it was too long, with too many subplots and villans
they needed to pick one not three…

  29. Gravatar

Well I think Half-Blood Prince id the third best.Order of the Phoenix being number 1 and number 2 being Goblet of Fire.Actually Spiderman 3 w as alot better than Pirates.Everyone I know thought so.Pirates and Spiderman had the same problems being too long and having too many storylines. The difference was that the director of Spiderman handeld it with ease.Pirates director in my opinion really screwed up.They had a good story and the direction was all over the place.I only half understood At World’s End.

  30. Gravatar

really??? i got all of at worlds end…all you really needed to
do was stay alert and everything made sense…except the
whole ten year curse…thats the only part i was confused on..
but you cleared that up….anyhoo, i cannot wait for hp 5 but
i feel like the preview isnt doing it good justice…PLUS they
arent having any quiditch….that means no ‘weasley is our king!’
    that sucks but w/e

  31. Gravatar

Well I saw it twice and understood it completely. It’s just Gore Verbinski is’nt as good of a director as Sam Raimi. No wonder they want Sam Raimi to do the Hobbit.Except Spiderman 4 would’nt be that good without Sam Raimi and the Hobbit would’nt be that good without Peter Jackson.

  32. Gravatar

I saw Pirates 3 three times, and didn’t underatand it all the first, but the second and third times it all made complete sense.

I agree, Dylan. The HP actors are brilliant, and everybody does a good job, especially considering they have to leave so much out. You’d think they’d run into problems with having left something out later in the series, but they haven’t so far.

Spiderman 3 was too crazy. Too many villains. I don’t know.

But Harry Potter should be the best. Fingers crossed!

  33. Gravatar

To Elizabeth. On the Spiderman side of this website I think Drew put it point blank about the villians.Sandman and Venom were a unorthadox pair up.Actually what you said about Spiderman 3 is what I thought when I first saw it.I’m one of those people who think Spidey 2 is one of the top 5 greatest film’s of all time.So when I first saw three I thought where did they go wrong and I went to see it a second time and LOVED it.It may not be as good as Spidey 2 but it is still a example of true excellance.

  34. Gravatar

Actually, I saw Spidey 3 three times too! Haha. I liked it a lot, better than the second even. I just think there were a few too many problems.

  35. Gravatar

What about Pirates? There were so many problems that it was like the movie reviewer on this website said.”Imagine Spiderman 3’s problems five times magnified”.Spiderman dwarf’s Pirates three times over. You said you did’nt like Spiderman because you’re a girl, well my Mother love’s Spiderman and so does my grandmother.

  36. Gravatar

I love Spiderman!!! A lot. I think I said I just love Pirates MORE.

Yes, Pirates had many, many problems. But since I love Pirates more, I guess I’m just more willing to accept its issues.

  37. Gravatar

To Elizabeth. You and I think alike. You and I both think Harry Potter is the best. But you think Pirates is number 2 and Spidey number 3.Well for me it’s Spidey number 2 and Pirates number 3.Oh well is’nt just a gift we all have a opinion?

  38. Gravatar

Yes. I’m one of those people who always loves the series they find first better. Like, I love Harry Potter best because it was the first I ever came across. And Pirates is second because I found it second. And then Spidey is third. But I really do love them all, and it’s a close call!

  39. Gravatar

Yeah I know what you mean.I used to watch the Spiderman cartoons when I was a kid and I was thrilled out how they did the movie.I liked how they went all the way back to his teenage years and his secret feelings for MJ.I read on here that they’re going to do 6 Spiderman movies.Hopefully Peter will finally marry MJ in spidey 4.

  40. Gravatar

Let’s get back to Harry Potter what are you looking forward to the most in the movie? For me probably Dumbledore vs. Voldemort battle.

  41. Gravatar

Wow, six! I wasn’t even sure they were doing a fourth. It’s good to know that, at least. They should get married. Then maybe we can lose them fighting in every movie. Though I have to say, the third was kinda funny when Peter was all weird…

  42. Gravatar

I liked it when he danced in the street’s.

  43. Gravatar

Yeah, me 2. That was really funny. I also liked the scene where he was talking on the phone to his teacher while eating cookies, and when he was at work and got in the fight with Eddie.

  44. Gravatar

I like them scenes too.Alright I gotta go.See all of you tomorrow.

  45. Gravatar

In answer to your earlier post, Dylan, I think I’m most looking forward to the whole Ministry scene. It was my favorite part of the book.

  46. Gravatar

But I also think Umbridge will be great, and all scenes with her. Imelda Staunton was in the movie Freedom Writers, and she was a mean lady in that, too. She was great! I do think they made the right choice with casting her.

  47. Gravatar

im pretty much looking forward to….the Black house that seems
like it will be cool to see Serius’s house
question….did anyone else have to seee HP 4 twice before
they actually liked it…the first time i saw it i was a little
disapointed but the second time around i totally loved it!!!!

p.s. my favorite movie so far would have to be The
    Prisoner of Askaban

  48. Gravatar

Yeah Goblet of Fire was kinda like Pirates 3 and Spidey 3 they seem to just get better each time you watch it.

  49. Gravatar

Also Goblet of Fire was better than the other two I mentioned.

  50. Gravatar

Here’s my ratings for Harry Potter.Sorcerer’s Stone 9/10,Chamber of Secrets 9.5/10,Prisoner of Azkaban 10/10,Goblet of Fire 10/10.

  51. Gravatar

    Hey! its me again!

I think that the movies, like the books keep growing with the characters thats why the first and the second and the third movies were rated PG, and the fourth and fifth PG-13, and who knows the seventh movie might be rated R, lol!

  52. Gravatar

Yeah I’m tired of hearing people say the movies can’t match the books.Face it people if there’s a scene you wanted in there you have the book to read.

  53. Gravatar

    the books are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
    yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
    better then the movies..no doubt

  54. Gravatar

Of course they are.But the movies are the best book to movie adaptions ever.At least they stick to the books instead of the such as Eragon.

  55. Gravatar

    23 more day’s to go!!!!!!!

  56. Gravatar

Wow. I realy can’t wait!!!! That’s barely three weeks.

  57. Gravatar

I can’t either. My eyes are bulging in and out of my head!!!Just kidding lol.

  58. Gravatar

    *Really

  59. Gravatar

I’m even more excited by the book, of course. !!!!!!!

  60. Gravatar

Have you seen the cover art for the Deluxe Edition? It’s very interesting.I’m definately getting it.

  61. Gravatar

Yeah, I saw it. I want it, too!

  62. Gravatar

The only thing is I’ve already pre-ordered the regular edition.Oh well when it comes out I’m sure they will let me swich it out.

  63. Gravatar

I have the whole series in paper back so im going to wait until it comes out in paper back so i don’t ruin the look. i remember having to wait six months for the sixth book to come out in paper back. it was torcher!

well gtg! im going to eat pizza now!

  64. Gravatar

I had it in paperback to.But I recently bought them all in Hardback.Right now I’m reading all 6 before 7 comes out.And right now I’m reading book 3 right now and something I noticed was that when all that grim stuff was being said and Harry kept seeing that dog that looked just like the grim that turned out to be Sirius.Well that was true about the grim,Sirius died.

  65. Gravatar

I am in the middle of the 5th book and I have to read it before the movie comes out which is in 23 days!!!! My sister is going to come with me to the midnight showing so she is going to order the tickets this Friday cause that is when they are being sold! and before we go see the movie we are going to watch the other four movies so that is going to be a LOOOOONG day.

  66. Gravatar

Sounds like it.I just watched the first film.

  67. Gravatar

HELLOOOOOO?!?!?!?!?! ANYONE??? OY!!! o well I’ll try back later

  68. Gravatar

    Hey.Been wondering where you’ve been.

  69. Gravatar

    ya, I was busy for 2 days….
so, what shall we talk about to day????

  70. Gravatar

To Britttt.Well I’m hanging out on the Pirates forum and going to post my 20 favorite movies.

  71. Gravatar

Well I have to go walk my dog now. I hope i can come back 2morrow.
    see ya

  72. Gravatar

    OK. I’m here
    Now what

  73. Gravatar

    Great, now everyone is gone!

  74. Gravatar

mmmmmm i cant wait for the 5th movie :)

  75. Gravatar

Did you see the OOTP preview on entertainment tonight today.

  76. Gravatar

Sorry I haven’t been on for a few days! I was busy, busy, busy!!! No, I didn’t see the preview - was it good?

Btw, if you’re reading the Pirates 4 post, I am way too behind now to be able to catch up with conversation, so I will probably be reading the last few posts and commenting as best I can!

  77. Gravatar

    Yeas it was good.

  78. Gravatar

Oops sorry for my mispelling.Yes not yeas.

  79. Gravatar

Yah, I saw it to. it wasn’t bad, it didn’t show much though.

  80. Gravatar

I’m back what have I missed?

  81. Gravatar

    eh, not much. I’m here.

  82. Gravatar

I have’nt bothered talking on here that much.I joined rottentomatoes.com and have been posting my ideas and movie reviews on there.

  83. Gravatar

Have you seen the cover for the seventh book? well of course you have. but I think it looks better than all of the rest of them cause its bright and the Illastration of Harry and Voldemort are great. I really didn’t like the cover for the 5 & 6 books cause they were only one color. it was a bit boring, if you know what I mean.

  84. Gravatar

Yeah I love the cover art. It’s the best since GOF.Have you seen the cover art for the deluxe edition? It’s the best cover ever on a book.

  85. Gravatar

my favorite book covers would have to be books one and two because they
are so detailed and really show off the books that are inside

  86. Gravatar

I like one, two, and four. I thought four showed a lot, too. But one is probably my favorite. It had a lot of important stuff on it.

  87. Gravatar

I don’t know…i found it kind of annoying that five and six were all one color, too. It almost seemed that with those two, the artist decided to go in a different direction and make the covers more serious and the people look more mature, you know? I noticed that Harry started to look older. Seven’s cover is much the same way, with a yellowish hue. But it’s interesting, even though it is probably the least detailed cover.

  88. Gravatar

I like the deluxe edition cover art.

  89. Gravatar

    Yeah, that one is great.

  90. Gravatar

I’m undecided on whether I want the regular or deluxe.I already have the regular pre-ordered but the store said when it’s released I can just change it out.I know the deluxe edition has the painting that’s on the cover of the regular it’s on the box of the deluxe and inside the book.I guess I’m gonna get the deluxe.

  91. Gravatar

I think I’ll get the regular, and wait awile…they’ll probably come out with some sort of deluxe set of all the books for a lot of money, and I’ll buy them all together…hafta save up for a while!

  92. Gravatar

I had to wait six months for the sixth book to come out in paper back! so I just went to the Library and and I was put on the waiting list for it so I had to wait even more just to read it! I am not going to wait six more months again!

  93. Gravatar

i bought my tickets for the midnight showing!!!!! IM SOOO EXCITED

  94. Gravatar

I wanna go to the midnight showing!

  95. Gravatar

Have you seen the 11 clips from the films.Right now they have the german version on youtube I’m waiting to see the english version on youtube.

  96. Gravatar

You can go to mugglenet.com and see them. My computer won’t let me, but maybe your’s will…

  97. Gravatar

Sweet!!!! I’ll try it and come back later.

  98. Gravatar

my computer is taking a long time so i thought i’d talk for a bit.

My sister bought the tickets a long time ago, but its wierd, cause the sheet of paper we printed off of the internet says “12:01am the evening of Tue. Jul. 10th” so i’m confused if its on the 10th, but it can’t be on the 10th cause it opens on the 11th. my computer is dumb.

  99. Gravatar

OK I’m back. i just saw all the clips and there great!!!!!! I especially like the Patronuse clip with all the special effects. and in the first behind the scenes clip, it look like Emma Watson was flirting with Daniel Radcliff a bit when the director yelled CUT and all. so yaaa

  100. Gravatar

Just to let you know, i am going to be out of town from Friday the 29 through Thursday the 5. i am going on vacation to Mossuri (im not sure if thats right) visiting my Aunt and uncle, but ill try to stay updated.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!!!!! FOR ALL YE AMERICANS!!!!!!

GO HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  101. Gravatar

I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free…

Actually, I’m not really sure about that right now, with the war and all…ANYWAY, BESIDE THE POINT.

Ha, my friend’s in Europe right now, she’s gonna be gone til the 10th of July, and we were joking about her being in London on the 4th of July and wearing an Independence Day T-shirt. But she’s not going to be in England than. I think Spain…maybe Italy…

  102. Gravatar

I’m back.Hey did y’all read that review for OOTP?Well I’m not going to take it serious because he said the “fun” was gone.Well the story is not meant to be “fun”.My impression of the book was it was more internal and emotional.13 days to go!!!!

  103. Gravatar

Definitely emotional. I didn’t see the fifth book as “fun”. There aren’t supposed to be fun. Fun to watch, maybe, but not the movie itself.

  104. Gravatar

    *They, not there

  105. Gravatar

    So…13 days??? Nearly twelve…

  106. Gravatar

O my gosh. im excited as hell. i love harry potter movies there the best. I’m going to watch the movie the first day it comes out. Even my dad likes harry potter and hes going to watch too.

  107. Gravatar

Right now im barely thinking of anything except harry potter 5.

  108. Gravatar

It’s Philosophers Stone!!!! :) Crazy inability to understand the original title:) Theory on the last book. Harry has to die because he is Voldamorts final Horcrux. Snape is good and was forced to kill Dumbledore, (Hagrid over heard Snape arguing with Dumbledore about not wanting to do it, but Dumbledore forces him in Book 6). I think it’s the only way to gain Voldemorts favour. Time will tell though and I cant wait!!!

  109. Gravatar

    Four days!

  110. Gravatar

    I’M BACK EVERYBODY!!!!!!

  111. Gravatar

Ok. so I checked this morning because i thought i say a commercial for all 3 of them but i found out that only Emma Watson will be on Live with Regis and Kelly on Thursday the 12. i thought all 3 of them were going to be on but i guess not.

ill be back tomorrow for more details

  112. Gravatar

Sorry I have’nt been responding.I’ve been on rottentomatoes all week.I joined the website 2 weeks ago and I have posted 800 responses on there.Right now OOTP critic score is at 92% which is very very very high.POTC AWE got 46% and SM3 got 61%.

  113. Gravatar

OK well now Daniel Radcliffe is going to be on Live with Regis and Kelly on wednesday if anyone cares. the time is 10/9 central if anyone wants to get up that early, and that goes for Thursday with Emma Watson also. I just thought you would like to know. I don’t know if I’m the only one on here for good so I’ll just talk to myself than.

  114. Gravatar

If I remember correctly some of you said that ya’ll were seeing OOTP.I can’t see it till tomorrow, but how is it?Everyone is telling me that this follow’s the book better than the other’s.

  115. Gravatar

Well, I haven’t seen it yet. I go in two hours. But when I get back, I’ll tell you! EXCITED! Ahem.

  116. Gravatar

Everybody is saying it’s the best one yet!!!!!!!!The critics love it and the fans do.

  117. Gravatar

I know! Maybe the first won’t be my fave anymore! So far, for me, they got worse every movie…but I have high hopes for this one.

  118. Gravatar

For me GOF is the best one.

  119. Gravatar

Really? I liked GoF, but not as much as the first two. The 3rd and 4th are tied for me, I think. But I liked how the characters look in the fourth. I don’t think Daniel and Rupert should have cut their hair so much for the fifth.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I saw it at midnight and me and my sister were totally excited!!!!! although I did got a head ache from all the flashing lights, but that could have been from all the caffiene I had before the movie cause i had a can of mountian dew, a small chocolate cooler with an extra shot of espresso from Caribbou Coffee and a large mellow yellow to try and stay awake, so ya.

  121. Gravatar

It was funny! there was alot of people there dressing up as characters. I saw one death eater, one Voldemort, two Professor Tralawneys, one Dumbledore, and a hole bunch of Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs and Slytherins. ya. and while we were waiting for the movie to start, four kids were playing Quidditch! lol!

  122. Gravatar

Hey Britttt is it the best one yet?

  123. Gravatar

well i don’t know I have mixed feelings about it.
but I wish it was longer. it was 2 hours and 18 min. THATS THE SHORTEST HARRY POTTER YET!!!!!!!!!! GGGRRRRRR!!!!!!!! sorry. but it seemed as if each scene was like only 5 min. long!! It seemed rushed, you know? cause the characters were like running around the whole time almost. but I liked how Sirius entered the scene in the arch room though that was awsome.

I love Sirius. Hes my favorite. Its wierd though, how he fell through the arch. its not how i pictured it.

  124. Gravatar

So when do you think your going to see it?

  125. Gravatar

To Brittt.I want to correct you on something. It’s the second shortest,POA was 2 hrs. 10 min. without credits.I’m unfortunately going to have to wait till tomorrow at noon to see it.

  126. Gravatar

Just got back from seeing it. I have mixed feelings about it. It’s like it was with Pirates - I need some time, and need to see it again, before I make judgment. It was really good, though.

I think the scene in the Department of Ministries is one of, if not the, best sequence in all five Harry Potter movies. And Dylan, you said you were excited about Dumbledore vs. Voldemort - you won’t be disappointed. That part was even better then the book.

  127. Gravatar

oh, sorry Dylan. I know how much you care about the 8 minutes difference.
but still they could have made it longer.
the music in this one, i thought, was the best. the music in the 4th one was a bit scary, and the music in the first 2 was a bit childish, but Hedwig’s theme song is a classic so i’m not complaining.

  128. Gravatar

I love Hedwig’s theme. I just have a few songs from SS and PoA each. Like, I have the Prologue, Christmas, Harry’s Wondrous World, Finale, and Hedwig’s Theme from the first. Then I have Forward to Time Past, The Knight Bus, and Double Trouble from the third. I don’t know why I didn’t get all of the albums…but this may sound weird, but I like Do the Hippogriff form the fourth. You know the one at the Yule Ball by the Weird Sisters? Yeah. It’s on the soundtrack, and I’ve heard the clips on iTunes. I watch the deleted scene on the DVD just so I can hear the whole thing.

  129. Gravatar

    cool!

  130. Gravatar

But seriously, Dylan, did you see it? What did you thing? It got really great reviews, most saying it’s the best one yet. I think I agree.

  131. Gravatar

I’ve seen it and I can honestly say it’s the best film of all time.

  132. Gravatar

    Hello?? Anyone there???

  133. Gravatar

I am! (Much later then when you asked…)

  134. Gravatar

Ok, I didn’t read any of the comments before..cause I’m still reading all the POC ones. hehe. (Not even half-way through the page yet, YIKES)

I personally hated the movie. It skipped around way to much and emphasised things that shouldn’ve been left alone. Even with it being more than 2 hours long,
it didn’t include specific details that contribute to the movie.

And is it just me or isn’t it wierd that EVERYONE except Harry was wearing stripes
all the time? (Except “Loonie” Lovegood. But she’s just eughh.)

I think that it was just stupid and dumb. It could’ve been soo much better. If
anyone’s read the book, don’t you think the same?

Also, everyone knows that, this is the last movie, Emma, Daniel and Rupert are
doing together right? It is. They’re getting new people for those roles.

Well. That’s just what I think. Email me if you thought the same or otherwise.
If you just want to bitch then don’t bother. =]

    -Megan-

  135. Gravatar

I agree with Britt. Everything was so rushed. They could’ve made it longer, it
    would’ve been so much better.

    -Megan-

  136. Gravatar

Megan, I agree a little bit about being rushed. However, I thought the beginning of the fourth was WAYYY rushed, so this one did a much better job.

Also, Daniel, Rupert, and Emma are doing all seven movies. They’re under contract. I learned this on the Official Harry Potter site, Mugglenet. There are a lot of rumors out there, and up until a couple months ago Emma was considering not doing it, but she changed her mind.

  137. Gravatar

As a developing movie critic I look at every angle of the film and my consensus say’s that this is no doubt the best film since Star Wars:Empire Strikes Back if not one of the best films ever. The cinematography was truly spectacular. As well the visuals too.The direction is the best the franchise has had [even better than Cuaron's].I also liked the screenwriting. The biggest difference between OOTP and GOF is that even though alot of scenes were cut the final product of OOTP was very true and faithful to the book.I was personally surprised at how it followed the book so much [at times it seemed word for word and scene for scene].The greatest aspect of the film is the acting.Dan,Emma and Rupert seem to be getteing better and better.Imelda Staunton and Gary Oldman were the true highlights of the film. And not to forget,Ralph Fiennes was kick @$$ in this film.I also liked the editing style of this movie [seemed to follow the artistic style of POA].Overall score 10/10.

  138. Gravatar

Wow. Dylan, are you planning on being a movie critic? Because you should. Well here are my thoughts:

This was definitely the best Potter film, and my new favorite movie. I don’t know if it was the best movie ever, but since I never liked The Empire Strikes Back that much (Return of the Jedi was my fave) I guess it is a great movie!!! The trio gets better and better and better. Before this one, I always looked with a critical eye at Michael Gambon (being a fan of Richard Harris’s style) but he redeemed himself in this one, and tipped the balance for who’s been Dumbledore longer, so I give him a thumbs up. Ralph Fiennes did do a great job, and I had more time to warm to his acting in this one. Imelda Staunton was a wonderful addition to the cast, and it’s really too bad that she probably will never return, even though I guess when it comes to Umbridge, that’s a good thing! Gary Oldman was spectacular, and fulfilled his place as my favorite Marauder, which had already been established from the books. Even Jason Isaacs was creepy enough as Lucius Malfoy. I did like seeing him get a punch from Sirius!! Even Evanna Lynch was perfect, saying everything with a detached air.

On another note, they did do a lot of word-for-word scenes. A lot. Which was good, because I could relate and felt good to recognize a certain tidbit of a scene from the novel. And the flashbacks I felt added to the film in a big way. I always analyze how the actors have grown up and matured, remembering them from the first film as in comparison to all the others. It was great how you actually saw them as younger kids in the flashbacks, because it was like a side-by-side look, the flashes went so quick.

I was pleased they didn’t take out Mr. Weasley’s attack. I had been afraid they might. I actually almost cried when Prof. Trelawney got fired, which was definitely something, as I never liked her character especially well (who does?). But that part made me tear up. She and Maggie Smith did it well.

Of course, when the fireworks went off in all their chaos, everyone in the theater whooped and clapped. And when Umbridge was carried off by centaurs, we laughed and jeered.

Oh, yes, the movie was great. I agree, at least 9.5/10. I’m going again tomorrow, so we’ll see what multiple times brings to my opinion.

In conclusion, I could tell the movie was going to be good when my theater (myself included) oohed and awed over the baby Thestral near the beginning…and they have got to be THE ugliest creatures ever (Orcs excluded).

  139. Gravatar

Also, they did take out a little bit, like Ron and the Quidditch Team, but those parts wouldn’t have really added to the movie, and might even have made it tedous. So I applaud what got to stay in, and don’t regret what was kept out. The way they combined the D.A. lessons was clever, and funny.

I do complain a little about Cho’s part being downsized, not because I liked her character (Ugh!), but because I felt that she and Harry never really got together and broke up. They kissed, and that was it. I was expecting more of a relationhsip with them. But that’s okay. And on the note of relationships, was it just me, or were Ron and Hermione acting more fond of each other? Because I thought I saw some signs of attraction…

One more thing (for now) - James and Oliver Phelps keep getting better and better. They are truly great, and I am sad at the fact that they will either be in Movie 6 a tiny bit or maybe even not at all. Their escape scene, as I’ve already said, was well done, as was the scene where they were comforting that little boy in the hall after detention, telling him it wasn’t so bad. You can tell they’d make good big brothers!

  140. Gravatar

Thanks.Yeah I’m planning on being a critic. You know something that’s funny.Return of the Jedi has alway’s been my favorite too,but I’m afraid to say it on the web because people hit me with hate mail.Sorry I have’nt been on here these past couple of weeks.I joined rottentomatoes almost a month ago and I already posted over 2,000 responses!!!!!!But nothing beats ya’ll.

  141. Gravatar

Saw the movie again! It was just as good as the first time. At the part near the end where Fudge and some other Ministry members Floo in to the Ministry and Fudge says, “He’s back!”, I was like “Duh!” and a couple people in front of me said, “Now he believes it!” I think everyone had an “I told you so!” comment, lol!

  142. Gravatar

I’m going to see it sometime before DH comes out.I plan to see it at least four times.

  143. Gravatar

How would the films go for you?Favorite to least favorite. Here’s how it goes for me. 1 OOTP,2 POA-GOF tie,3 COS,4 SS.So as you see POA and GOF tie for being my second favorite.

  144. Gravatar

Four times??? Wow. Well, I’m not too surprised, actually. I went to Narnia seven times. But ever since then I’ve made a vow never to go to a movie in theaters more than three times!!!

    Favorite to Least Favorite:
    1) Order of the Phoenix
    2) Sorcerer’s Stone
    3) Chamber of Secrets
    4) Prisoner of Azkaban/Goblet Of Fire tie

Remember I said that every movie got worse until Phoenix? Yeah. But PoA and GoF are a tie. Still, I love all five movies…that’s just my order.

  145. Gravatar

You did good. What’s the best films of the year in order for you? Here’s my order: 1# Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, 2# Spider-Man 3,3# Rattatoiulle,4# TMNT,5# Pirates of the Caribbean:At World’s End.

  146. Gravatar

Oooh…well, I haven’t seen Ratatouille or TMNT, but out of five I have seen:

    1) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
    2) 1408
    3) Spiderman 3
    4) Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End
    5) Disturbia

  147. Gravatar

You’ve seen 1408?I’ve been wanting to see it.

  148. Gravatar

It was really good, I thought. My friend and I went together, and we had a sleepover that night, and I think we scared ourselves into hysterics! It was pretty freaky, but mostly psychological…a little violence.

  149. Gravatar

I like a good thriller.Do you ever go on rottentomatoes?

  150. Gravatar

  159. Gravatar

Could’nt agree with HP lover more.If you ever go on RT alot of people are calling it the best book ever.Did you like OOTP?It’s my all time favorite movie!

  160. Gravatar

OK. people who have read and reread the book please don’t spoil it for me because i haven’t read it yet but my sister is reading it and i have to wait till shes done. which, of course is going to take forever. shes only on page four hundred something and she started the night she got it which was 12:01 am when it came out.

it was so fun the night it came out!!!!!! i thought i wasn’t going to go with my sister and her work friends but i kept on asking her and she finally gave in. they decided to dress up so they told me i could be Luna Lovegood cause i have blond hair. my sister was Hermione, her friend Heather was Ginny cause when her hair is down she actually looks exactly like her, and her other friend, Lexi, was Harry! and Ashley who was the photogragher. it was so wierd cause Lexi is a little bit emo so her bangs, (you know the side bangs) kept on getting in the way of her scar. that would be weird having an emo Harry. i had to do my sisters hair and so we crimped it and then we scrunched it, and herhair looked exactly like Hermionie’s hair! and so for the robes they just used their graduation gowns, and since i haven’t Graduated yet, i used my black sweater that went down past my knees. and i had a couple of pretty good wands that we used.

it was so fun!!!!! o and on the way home my sister was driving, but she wanted to read her book, so Heather who also got a book, (the rest of us went along just for fun) started reading when we were walking back to the car (outloud) cause shes more obsessed than the rest of us which is pretty hard to beat.

i just wanted to share my expirience with you. so yaa.

  161. Gravatar

    SSSSSSSPPPPPPOOOOOOOIIIIIIIILLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  162. Gravatar
