i happen to like his movies and they are just his version. i think that they are called Rob Zombie's Halloween so that people know he is the one that made them and not the old ones. i enjoy his versions because they are more enhanced and are more 'scary' so to say than the old versions. i think that he did an excellent job.

i thought the remakes of Halloween are alot better the the original ones! Rob Zombie may be weird but he can make some bad ass movies! just like Houses Of Thousand Corpes....now that movie is fucked up!

Rob Zombie's Halloween Rawked! I loved everything about it... I mean I seen the original, and as most remakes you expect the same ending or whatever, but it had a different take. HALLOWEEN III: Season Of The Witch actually DID have something to do with Michael Myers. The demented professor was working for the THORN cult. This was a celtic cult which explains the relevance of Stonehenge (a rock of which was used to power the machine that sucked everyone's head dry) AND more inportantly was the evil cult that made Michael Myers pure evil.

Unfortunately Zombie didn't bother to touch on this when others sequels went further to explaining the whole "Can't Die" concept and why. This would have been more impotant that remaking John Carpenters classic. He'd be turning in his grave. (Yes, Caprenter is dead, the same year Debra Hill died also)

OK! I saw the new Halloween and it was not as bad as some would think. I am A PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR and the movie gave a real explaination to why Michael is the way he is...I mean not the evil over took him as a child nor the cult explaination or the bloodline has to end...but a real aspect to reality. I like that simplistic overview into that enviroment and society creates monsters. The New Halloween also gave a more rounded bases for horror. He didn't change anything except the fact that he gave him a meaning. Why is that freaking everyone out ...Wes Craven gave Freddy a meaning for his rampages in dreams...Revenge ! The same with Jason....Revenge for his mothers death..death to all campers. and Candyman....Revenge for the wrongly Suffering that he was put through...The fact that YOUNG Michael was a troubled disturbed child with violent tendencies and A very disfunctional familyIS A EXCELLENT INSITE not only to the minds of Evil but to every psyco that really ever walked the real homicidle tendecy trail. Deffinitly better than a goody goody chior boy from a well to do family (which never made any sense to me at all!) AND THE CULT (CAN ANY ONE SAY STRETCHING FOR A REASON TO MAKE ANOTHER MOVIE). The fact that he brutalized the Bully with such malice and ferocious spite gave the balance to the movie that set fourth not ONLY GOOD VS EVIL but The subconcious VS abnormality. Rob Zombie pertrade Michael Myers as someone who just wanted to be loved....thats why he was after Laurie b/c that was the only one that he felt didn't betray him until he tried to reach out to her for support and got a knifed in the back ...literally! Then he was out to get REVENGE! Why is so many people having such a hard time excepting this movie? Do we really need a Boogy man that bad in our life? I love horror just as much as the rest of you but open your eyes , Our society is the next Spingwood, Crystal Lake, and Haddonfield. Our Society becomes Devil's Playground anytime a child is harrassed by a abusive father, mother, sibling and bully! What i can't understand that they use Danielle Harris as Michael Myers niece in H5. But in Rob Zombie's Halloween she is played as an adult as Annie one of his victims.

In regards to what you all said, there is nothing wrong with the rob zombie halloween. Yes i understand that Halloween 1 was great with the technology in it's time. But this intorduces the techno heads (kids) of today to a Legend who can stand beside Jason Voorhees.
The Prelugue was an awesome idea i too wanted to know how it all started. But like Halloween 6 it had to have a start. Well i read further up the list about how people were complaining that Halloween 6 was crap because it didn't have Danielle Harris in it. Well the Halloween that was released starts of with his neice all grown up.
I was one of the lucky ones to find Halloween 6: The Origin of Michael Myers which takes you exactly where H5 left off. With Michael being kidnapped by the Thorn cult. And Danielle Harris is also kidnapped.
It has all the cut scenes in it that H6: The Curse of Michael Myers cut out. ( Producers Cut i believe ).
So until you go critisizing any Halloween's make sure you see them properly. And What is wrong with Remaking a movie. Kids of Today and the future sometimes cannot get there hands on the originals.
Rob Zombie's Halloween goes where John Carpenter's couldn't.
So instead of critisizing other people's ideas. Get of your asses and make a halloween the way you want it.
Agreed i enjoyed Halloween of course it won't match with Halloween 2 because of the characters and the fact that Rob Zombie's Halloween ended with Michael on the ground.
But it's like anything else us oldies that enjoyed the original movies will have to let the Halloween's be Remade.
Because the kids of today will laugh at the poor graphics that the original Halloween had to offer. In our time it was good but all this new Halloween is doing is preaching it to a different Audience.
You tell me if you were a kid would you go for a coshy old movie that your father liked or would you go for the uptodate movie that has cool special effects and heaps more killing in it.
More killings Rob Zombie's Halloween is kicking i hope he remakes the rest.

wow the first 2 acts sucked

I completely agree with Octoberic. Everyone else is whining way too much about Rob's destruction of this franchise. When Akkad was killed I was worried that another Halloween would never be made. Now we have a grittier version of the original. What's wrong with having a choice?! I just saw it and it could have been better (more 'Devil's Rejects' style violence) but I loved the up to date version anyway. Michael was a 6'7'' bad-ass! Moustapha Akkad once said that he would make like 23 movies if he could so just sit back and enjoy if you want to, but don't rag on someone who is actually making a movie instead of sitting on their ass in their parent's place playing D&D and complaining all night!

To the critics who argue that this wasn't exactly like the original Halloween, I have this to ask. Was this an exact remake or was it Rob Zombie's interpretation of Halloween? I love the fact that "Zombie" focused on the young Myers which eventually led to psychopath he would eventually become. To be honest, I went into this movie with an open mind and didn't try to relate anything of the original to this movie and have to say I came away very pleased. Here are a few complaints I have about this Halloween. Michael gets shot repeatedly and it has little to no affect upon him, which is a reflection of the cheesy Halloween 4 and on movies. One question that was never answered in the film is how did Michael Myers know that the girl who put the envelope in the mail slot of his house was his little sister? The last time Michael seen his sister was when he was 10 and she was a few months to a year old. Zombie should have done better than that. I also did not like the fact that Zombie failed to include the trademark signature Michael Myers sit up and turn of the head. The ending was different and left no thought to the imagination that there will be another Halloween movie. Overall, the movie was GREAT!!!! Tyler Mane and the Mask is Fu--ing Awesome!!! I am going to see it again and suggests that if you are a fan of Michael Myers and Halloween, this version will explain the who, why, and what about Michael Myers life and lead you into a new vision of the massacres that happened on Halloween night in Haddonfield Illinois. A+ "BABY!!"

Listen. I'm sick of reading all this bullshit about who has a better Halloween. With the exception of H3, they were mostly good films. Yeah, there's only one original, we know this. H2 was a simply follow up to that. 4 and 5 were not bad as it brought Michael closer to the reality of being an animal. 6, well, it could've been better. H20 was simply fantastic. Resurrection told the ending that was much needed.
Rob Zombie is only re-creating a story. That is all. He's adding his twisted themes of gore to the film. How else can one explain the best mask ever with a Michael that has long hair and stands 6'10" and weighs 275lbs?

Some say to leave sequels or recreations alone. I can't disagree more. Over 30 years, a film that is recreated can not be worse. Take starwars... with today's advanced technology, a remake of "jedi" would be fucking awsome. That's all Rob Zombie is doing. In an age where society loves violence, he's giving that to us. If, in 1978, society was this acceptable, Mr. Carpenter would likely have done something much like this.

I been checking out the comments from the fans on the Halloween site and rob zombies interviews on the first Halloween. As i FAN!!! of the original Halloween.which i seen in theatures back in 1978.to me it really begins and ends with the first.though i hold H2 as the only worthy sequel,disspite its flaws.like the brother and sister thing,which i dont except.myers is the boogyman.no motive to kill.just kill. lm not liking what zombie is saying. Michael Myers obviously failed he left his nephew (Josh Harnett) and
his son, his neice gave birth to him in The Curse of Michael Myers. Well

The new Halloween is going to be good. But, not all that great like the first original Halloween. The first Halloween was the greatest of them all, no matter what you can't beat the first Halloween down. Never ever! Who agrees with me?
