107 Reasons You Need To See Richard Linklater's 'Boyhood'

Richard Linklater's Boyhood is one of my favorite movies of the year so far. The film tells the story of a young boy's childhood from age 5 to age 18. You've probably also heard that the movie was filmed over the course of 12 years using the same actors. But it is an independent film which I understand is a hard sell for some of you. Easier to get your friends together to see a bunch of big transforming robots and explosions... The movie begins to rollout in major cities on July 11th, so I have listed 107 reasons why you need to Boyhood when it comes to your town.

Seriously, f*** you.

You really need me to list 107 reasons to see this incredible film?

You went and paid $15 bucks to see Transformers: Age of Extinction in 3D even though you hated the other Transformers films and saw all the bad reviews in your twitter stream... but you can't just take our word on this epic indie film?

You've already heard us rave about this film many times over the past six months.

I called Boyhood a remarkable cinematic achievement when I saw it at Sundance — I've said it is one of the best films of the year.

Russ has called Boyhood "a truly great film."

And Germain recently got a chance to see the film and tweeted the following:

But you haven't bought ticket yet...

You haven't even marked the date on your calendar?

Seriously?

July 11th 2014.

I'm not going to list off 107 reasons you need to see this movie, but I will leave your with a short behind the scenes featurette which was just released by IFC Films:

Now go see the movie.
