'X-Men: Apocalypse' Super Bowl Spot: Mutant Mayhem

Marvel Studios kicked off the Super Bowl spot bonanza with Captain America: Civil War, but 20th Century Fox also wanted a piece of the action with a new tease for their summer comic book sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse. This promises to be the biggest X-Men movie yet, with Oscar Isaac as the titular villain creating complete mayhem and chaos. Watch the X-Men Apocalypse Super Bowl spot below.

Here's the X-Men: Apocalypse Super Bowl spot from Fox:

This X-Men movie is meant to be the last one that Bryan Singer directs, unless a previous rumor of another sequel being in the works turns out to be true. That means this will likely be the beginning of a new series of films following the younger versions of the original X-Men, including Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey and Alexandra Shipp as Storm.

Returning cast members include James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique,  Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Lucas Till as Havok, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, and reportedly Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Otherwise, other mutants on board include Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Ben Hardy as Angel, and Olivia Munn as Psylocke., though some of them will be bad guys at first.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse arrives on May 27th.
