VOTD: Surprisingly Effective Trailer Mashup 'The Lion King Rises'

As trailer mashups become more and more common, it is pretty rare that one hits and really deserves widespread attention. I had a few people call my attention today to this combination of the audio from the second trailer for The Dark Knight Rises with footage from The Lion King, and I blew it off for a while. But this is a great effort that skillfully cuts the animated footage to the TDKR audio with a clear-cut indication of the Lion King characters standing in for ones from Nolan's film.

This almost works as marketing for The Lion King because the 3D remaster of the 1994 film was out last year, with the Blu-ray hitting last fall. The Dark Knight Rises, meanwhile, opens on July 20. [Mashable]
