Theme Park Bits: A Jackie Chan Park, First Look At Disneyland Paris' 'Ratatouille' Ride And Cinecitta World

A theme park dedicated solely to Jackie Chan? It's in the works. Read about that, and the following, in this edition of Theme Park Bits:

  • The first images of the Ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris have been revealed.
  • Disney World's Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had its first full test.
  • The movie themed Italian theme park Cinecitta World is on scheduled to open next year.
  • Jackie Chan is, inarguably, one of – if not the – biggest action stars in the world. And while fans of his can always pop in his movies to celebrate Chan's trademark brand of action and comedy, he's thinking about taking that legacy one step further. Chan told the The Malaysian Times (via Moviefone) he's building a theme parked called JC World in Beijing, China. It'll be themed on Chan's "famed collection of historic Chinese sandalwood houses" and have five themed lands. Read more at those links but, if you're like me, you're gonna need a few minutes to process this incredibly information.

    It's no big secret Disneyland Paris is installing a ride based on Brad Bird's Oscar-winning Ratatouille. However, Disney and More now has the first official image of what the ride could look like, as well as some new images of the construction. Oh, by the way, the new official name of the ride is Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémi, which roughly translates to "Ratatouille: The Totally Zany Adventures of Remy." You get "reduced you to the size of a little rat" and "plunged into the heart of a particularly excited Parisian kitchen."

    Walt Disney's first movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, is getting a brand new ride in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It's called the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and its scheduled to open in 2014. The Disney Parks Blog revealed the ride just went through its first, full test. Here's an image.

    Finally, a long in-production theme park just outside Italy is on track to open in 2014. It's called Cinecitta World, named after the Italian studio which helped make Ben Hur, Cleopatra and others, and features designs by Oscar-winning production designer Dante Ferretti. The rides will be themed on Cinecitta properties and while part of it should open in 2014, expansions are already underway. Read much more at the Hollywood Reporter, but here's an image;
