'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows' Honest Trailer: Can We Go Back To The Rubber Suits?

The first film in the rebooted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise may have gotten everything wrong about the heroes in a half-shell, likely thanks to Michael Bay's involvement, but Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon tried to make it better by delivering a sequel that was more faithful to the animated series.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows included villains like Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady, the Technodrome, cut down on Megan Fox's screentime and more. Unfortunately, as the folks at Honest Trailers so astutely points out, they also forgot to write a story that makes some goddamn sense.

Sure, you might think that a comic book adaptation about adolescent, mutated amphibians doesn't need to make much sense because it's just a ridiculous sci-fi comic book concept. But the story could at least make sense within the parameters of the world in which it exists, and the characters could be more than just two-dimensional cardboard cutouts.

Easily the most annoying aspect of this movie, aside from that ridiculous idea of a dormant gene tying us to our animal ancestors, is the fact that Shredder has absolutely no questions when he's suck into an alternate dimension by way of a portal where he meets an anthropomorphic brain creature who wants to kill the Ninja Turtles for some reason. He must really hate the turtles in order to immediately agree to helping Krang dispatch with the turtles.
