Walt Disney Pictures has released a new two and a hald minute movie trailer for the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Jon Turteltaub-directed The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The new trailer shows a bit more interaction between Jay Baruchel and Teresa Palmer, and showcases a bunch of new special effects shots. I’ve been hearing a bunch of good things about this movie, and I expect it will surprise us. Watch the trailer now after the jump.

Walt Disney Pictures has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette titled “Good vs. Evil” for the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Jon Turteltaub-directed The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
In “Good vs. Evil,” we’re introduced to Dave [Jay Baruchel], Balthazar Blake’s [Nicolas Cage] apprentice, as he begins to master the art of sorcery through his teacher. We also discover the centuries old rivalry between Balthazar and his nemesis, Maxim Horvath [Alfred Molina].
We also have five new production photos from the film. See the photos and watch the video, embedded after the jump.

The worst thing about Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is the release date. No one in Hollywood wants to go up against Christopher Nolan‘s Inception, even a film which is aiming at a clearly younger demographic. I’ve heard from a number of sources that Sorcerer’s is actually pretty good and will surprise people who see it.
But will anyone see it if they have the choice to see the next film from that guy who did The Dark Knight and Memento?

Earlier this week I took a trip to Jerry Bruckheimer‘s Santa Monica offices to get a special sneak preview of scenes from Jon Turteltaub‘s upcoming film The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Walt Disney Pictures has released a new international movie trailer for Jon Turteltaub‘s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The trailer is basically a variation on the trailer released late last year in the states, but includes a bit more dialogue, action and a better look at Alfred Molina as the film’s villain Maxim. Shockingly, I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about this film from my insiders who are in the know.
So if you’re done watching that awesome Scott Pilgrim trailer again (really, we know you’re excited but it’s quickly becoming a problem), head on after the jump. As always, please leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Earlier today, Walt Disney Pictures released the first movie trailer for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (watch it here). We just received another e-mail from the mouse house with three new high resolution photos, a logo treatment and a an official plot synopsis for the film. Check out the photos and the plot info, after the jump.
When I first heard about Jon Turtletaub’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice movie, I didn’t really know what to expect. My first exposure to the property was in Disney’s Fantasia adaptation of the musical poem by Paul Dukas (itself an adaptation of the poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe) about a sorcerer who brings a broom to life to help him carry water, but finds himself unable to control the consequences. I was a huge fan of the way the animation creatively dramatized the poem, all while incorporating Disney’s most popular icon, Mickey Mouse.
We now have a trailer for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and what I can definitively say is that this is not what I expected. Watch the trailer in glorious HD over at Apple, or see an embedded version below. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Fanboyz have scored a scan of the first three official photos from Disney’s live-action film The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. I’m guessing that the photos appeared in the same AMC catalog that the Alice in Wonderland photos were scanned from over the weekend. Click on over to Fanboyz to see the uncropped images in larger resolution.
Loosely adapted from the classic story from Fantasia, and based in modern-day Manhattan, Nicolas Cage plays Balthazar Blake, a sorcerer who recruits and trains a young protege (Jay Baruchel) to help fight the forces of darkness. Celebrity illusionist Drake Stone (Toby Kebbell) joins forces with an evil sorcerer named Horvath (Alfred Molina), to “gain ultimate powers.” The film, also features Teresa Palmer (Bedtime Stories) as Baruchel’s love interest and Monica Bellucci (Passion of the Christ, The Matrix Reloaded) as Veronica, a sorceress and the long-lost love of Cage’s character. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is set to hit theaters on July 16th 2010.
