2019 Emmy Nominations

It’s almost time to honor the finest achievements in television again. The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards will air this fall, but before that, we need to know who has been nominated for the most coveted awards in television. Covering drama, comedy, variety, reality, animation and more, the Emmys honor the best in television and streaming, and this year is full of a wide spectrum of nominees from network, cable, and various streaming services.

The big news is Game of Thrones finished its television run with a record-setting 32 nominations this year, the most for any program in a single season, beating the previous record set by NYPD Blue. Meanwhile, on the comedy side of things, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel landed 20 nominations, and in the limited series category, Chernobyl made a big showing with 19 total nominations.

2019 WGA Awards Winners

Over the weekend, the Writers Guild of America handed out their annual awards honoring the best writing in film and television, and they’re definitely shaking things up in the final week before the Oscars.

While Roma has been the Oscar favorite for some time now, earning the Directors Guild of America’s top honors, Green Book walked away with the Producers Guild of America’s big trophy. 2019 SAG Awards Winners

Awards season continues as we inch closer to the Academy Awards, and last night, an unlikely winner emerged to take home the top prize at the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Marvel’s Black Panther walked away with the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, the SAG equivalent of Best Picture. The film beat out BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy Rich Asians and A Star Is Born. And that’s not even the only award that Black Panther took home. 2019 critics choice awards winners

Rotten Tomatometers and Metacritic aggregation can only show a sliver of what critics think about films, but the Critics Choice Awards is the definitive proof. The Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association bestowed their annual Critics’ Choice Awards to the best in movies and TV over the past year, awarding a few festival and awards circuit favorites while mostly passing over The Favourite, despite the Yorgos Lanthimos film’s 14 nods — the most of any film.

The top 2019 Critics Choice Awards winners instead included Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma, which led the film categories with four wins, followed by Black Panther and Vice with three wins apiece. Meanwhile in TV, The Americans and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel earned the critics’ love with three wins each.
