Audrey Niffenegger’s best-selling sci-fi romance novel The Time Traveler’s Wife was already turned into a movie starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana in 2009. Now HBO is letting former Doctor Who showrunner and writer Steven Moffat take a crack at adapting the novel into a TV series, and the show has finally landed on its two stars.
Divergent franchise co-star Theo James and Game of Thrones supporting actress Rose Leslie are taking the lead roles in The Time Traveler’s Wife TV series, which will tell the story of a couple whose love is both sparked and plagued by time travel. Read More »
Everyone is so used to Kit Harington as Jon Snow that it was a little jarring to see him without a beard when he made his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live. But even more startling was his normal voice, which is surprisingly different from the way he speaks as Jon Snow. It was almost distracting, but then Kit Harington made you forget about it by doing some goofy characters. Plus, some of his Game of Thrones co-stars stopped by during the monologue. The result was a decent episode with a smattering of great sketches Read More »
Last week, it was revealed that Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator and The Avengers director Joss Whedon is going to write and direct a Batgirl movie. It feels like a pitch-perfect match of storyteller and character – Whedon’s voice feels perfectly honed to tell the story of Barbara Gordon, the daughter of the Gotham City police commissioner who decides to take her father’s war on crime to the next level.
Of course, it’s still early days yet. Whedon has not cast his Batgirl. And that’s why we’re here. We have 17 suggestions.

Anya Taylor-Joy came seemingly out of nowhere to wow audiences in The Witch earlier this year. It was the kind of star-making performance that had us dying to see where she’d end up next, and luckily we haven’t had to wait too long for an answer. Taylor-Joy will be seen this fall in Morgan, a sci-fi thriller that marks the directorial debut of Luke Scott (son of Ridley Scott, who gets a producer credit).
As in The Witch, she plays a young woman that arouses fear and suspicion in others. Unlike in The Witch, her character in Morgan seems to know exactly what she’s doing. Taylor-Joy is Morgan, an artificial being created in a lab. Kate Mara stars as a corporate consultant sent to investigate a terrifying incident involving Morgan. The impressive cast also includes Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Giamatti. Watch the first Morgan trailer below. Read More »

Furious 7 was a record-breaking success, but to paraphrase that old Biblical saying, man cannot live on Fast and Furious movies alone. So Vin Diesel is shaking things up a bit with The Last Witch Hunter, in which he plays — yup — the last witch hunter.
Immortal and kind of unhappy about it, Diesel’s Kaulder is locked in a centuries-long battle against a witch queen (Julie Engelbrecht) who wants to unleash a plague on humanity. Fortunately, he’s got some help in the form of Rose Leslie, of Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey fame. Elijah Wood and Michael Caine also star.
