‘NOS4A2’ Season 2 Premieres in June

NOS4A2 Season 2

NOS4A2 (which is pronounced Nosferatu, in case you still haven’t figured that out), is returning for a whole-new season this summer. Inspired by the Joe Hill novel of the same name, NOS4A2 season 2 will premiere in June on AMC, continuing the story of Vic McQueen, a young working-class artist who discovers she has a psychic connection to Charlie Manx, an immortal, vampire-like being who preys on children.

Halfway through the inaugural season of AMC’s NOS4A2, the series is ramping up the personal stakes and danger for its central characters. Last week’s episode, “The House of Sleep,” opted for full blown taboo breaking terror with a harrowing peak into the twisted past of 135-year old vampire Charlie Manx’s righthand man, Bing Partridge (Olafur Darri Olafsson). Within the span of a single episode, Bing Partridge transformed from simple-minded pawn to arguably the most dangerous opponent plucky heroines Vic McQueen (Ashleigh Cummings) and Maggie Leigh (Jahkara J. Smith) will have to face.

Yet, for all of the episode’s shocking reveals, the buzz around both it and the entire series has been fairly quiet since the premiere. It’s a shame, because NOS4A2 is delivering some of television’s best horror that warrants more discussion and viewership.

NOS4A2 Featurette joe hill

Joe Hill‘s horror novel NOS4A2 comes to life in the form of an upcoming AMC series. In a new featurette, Hill talks about what it was like to see the world of his book brought to life for the series. “When a writer talks about having their story adapted, they all say the cliche things,” Hill says. “But it’s all true. It’s just incredibly thrilling to see all this stuff you lived with in your imagination suddenly set before you.” Watch the NOS4A2 featurette below.

NOS4A2 featurette

In the AMC series NOS4A2, Zachary Quinto plays a rather ancient-looking supernatural serial killer named Charlie Manx. Since Quinto looks even younger than his actual age of 41, the makers of NOS4A2 had to slap some serious make-up on him to pull off the appropriate look. In the NOS4A2 featurette below, watch as Quinto calmly checks his cellphone as make-up artists bury him in prosthetics.

NOS4A2 teaser

AMC is bringing a new vampire to television this summer. NOS4A2 is based on the book by Joe Hill, and showrunner Jami O’Brien adapted it for television. Zachary Quinto stars as Charlie Manx, a 135-year-old vampire who feeds off the energy of children. His make-up to transform into an ancient vampire is impressive, but NOS4A2’s biggest effects are seamless.

O’Brien and Hill spoke with reporters at WonderCon in Anaheim last week. Here’s what we learned.

NOS4A2 Review

At WonderCon in Anaheim, California this weekend, AMC announced that June 2 will see the premiere of their adaption of Joe Hill’s book, NOS4A2, which stars Zachary Quinto as the vampiric, Christmas-loving Charlie Manx, and Ashleigh Cummings as the young Vic McQueen, who tries to rescue his victims.

In addition to the release of a new trailer (which features children with pointy teeth and puts Manx and Vic clearly at odds with each other), WonderCon attendees also got a chance to see the full first episode of the series. The pilot is creepily good, with showrunner Jami O’Brien capturing the horror that fans of the book will instantly recognize.
