Hulk movie

Stop trying to ask Kevin Feige when a solo Hulk movie is going to happen. It’s not going to happen.

But it’s for reasons beyond the fact that the green-skinned monster’s last solo outing, The Incredible Hulk, did lackluster numbers at the box office, that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s slate is packed for the next 15 years, or that Feige is probably just annoyed people keep pestering him about it. It’s a deeper issue that has to do with the Hulk’s confusing movie rights between Marvel Studios and Universal.

All-Female Marvel

For years, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been calling for a solo movie centered on Black Widow, the ass-kicking super spy played by Scarlett Johansson. And while there have been a lot of vague claims of support from the people in charge at Marvel, we’ve yet to see her suit up for her own film.

But now there may be a film on the horizon that focuses on all of the prominent women characters in the MCU, not just Black Widow. Read Marvel Studios president and mega-producer Kevin Feige‘s comments about the possibility of an all-female Marvel movie below.

captain marvel in avengers 4

Who knows what the future holds? Marvel, apparently, because they’re scheduling films until the end of time, and currently in the midst of shooting them as well. Avengers: Infinity War isn’t even out yet, but production is already underway on the next Avengers film, which means eagle-eyed set spies are already picking out actors left and right as if they were deconstructing the Zapruder film. This scrutiny has apparently revealed none other than Captain Marvel will appear in Avengers 4. And rumors abound that another Marvel character, previously thought dead, might make an appearance as well. Let’s speculate wildly, shall we?

Star Wars and Marvel films will no longer be available on Netflix after the streaming deal ends in 2019, with Disney officially moving the properties to its own streaming service set to launch the same year.

This concludes several weeks of discussion between Netflix and Disney after the studio announced plans to launch its own streaming service featuring original Disney films and shows. Under debate were the fate of Star Wars and Marvel films, which were made under studios — Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios, respectively — that are both owned by Disney. But speculation about where these films would end up has been put to an end.

guardians of the galaxy vol 3

There’s no question that Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 will rock the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, but it won’t be until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits our theaters sometime in 2020 that the MCU will be forever changed.

Director James Gunn has hinted that the third film in his Guardians of the Galaxy series will kick off the cosmic universe in the MCU, expanding the films that follow will go beyond just battling aliens on Earth. But this won’t just be a short stint on the other side of the galaxy — the cosmic universe may take up the next 10 to 20 years of the MCU. That’s the equivalent of all first three “Phases” of the MCU!

marvel cosmic universe

Guardians of the Galaxy was a universe apart from the rest of the Marvel movies. While the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe were subject to the control of the #ItsAllConnected mantra, with tons of world-building and cameos implemented into the separate films, Guardians of the Galaxy had the freedom to be a wholly separate story unto itself.

But as the MCU expands, so does Guardians of the Galaxy‘s role in it. The third film in the Guardians of the Galaxy series, helmed again by director James Gunn, will play a pivotal role in introducing the Marvel cosmic universe. But Gunn assures that although Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the first in this cosmic era, every film that follows it won’t follow the Guardians template.

captain marvel movie 1

Concept art of Captain Marvel shown at San Diego Comic Con proved that the finished film was still a long ways away. While fans on the internet had to make do with grainy snaps of concept art shown by Marvel Studios at the convention, it seemed that we would have to wait a few more years before we could get a real peek at Brie Larson as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel.

But artist Andy Park has posted a less-grainy concept picture of Larson in costume as Danvers, this time where we can see the full length of the costume when it’s not concealed by attacking Skrulls.
